NCT, specifically 127 generally tends to prioritize preserving individual dance styles over synchronization! It’s one of my favourite things about their dance practices 🎉 It’s so much fun to see one dance move executed in nine ways. But when they aim to synchronize, you will definitely know it 😆
One person already said this, but NCT really does like each member to show a little bit of individual flare, not always synchronized. So they do it on purpose.
There's a bit of a difference between synchronization and uniformity. NCT (and SM groups in general) maintain synchronization while executing the moves with their own personal flair, because they don't focus on uniformity... unless it's for effect here and there. For me, it makes the choreo far more interesting and makes the uniform moments hit harder.
i figured that might have been the case!! i like how nct 127 focuses on style rather than trying to ALWAYS look super in sync, it's actually why i appreciate this practice
You should definitely check out their Cherry Bomb dance practice, one of their most if not The most iconic pieces. It really shows how unique their music and style is.
Their dance practice to Wakey Wakey is very unique. You either love it or hate it, lol. In their live performance, thet perform it on a circle stage in the middle of the audience, so that might contribute to their different kind of formations.
Thanks for your reaction, NCT have such interesting choreos! If you want a few recommendations, Ay-Yo has amazing synchronization sections and Favorite (Vampire) is just….so good. As you noted, some of this dance practice is kind of messy, there are even cuts in the video. They basically were pulling all nighters to prepare and learn this choreo (had just finished promoting NCT 2023), so it’s very understandable. Thankfully still super enjoyable to watch!
NCT choreos are always hard 90% of the time. Also each unit has a different dance type that I would love to see your thoughts on each unit dance style. Personally I think early nct choreo is the hardest and more complicated so I recommend these (Didn'tinclude NCT U cause its not a fixed unit. The dance style changes cause members always changes): NCT Dream : We Young, My First and Last, Boom and Beatbox NCT 127 : Firetruck, Cherry Bomb, Kick It WayV: Moonwalk, Turn Back Time and Take Off You can choose any song from these choices to analyze😁
Since it's your first time reviewing nct 127, you should watch their mv and dance practice of kick it which is one of their most iconic song. It is those songs that leaves a great impression to them❤
I look forward to seeing this choreo with all 9 members someday. Even numbered choreography is just awkward to me in kpop, since it's very much about showcasing the current person singing/rapping... someone is always having to stand behind the centered member or they're slightly to one side of the centered member, making the formation look less clean. SM's style is typically more individualistic in their choreo, while maintaining sync. Personally, I find it far more interesting than a lot of choreo and shows how very well trained they all are.
Do fire truck,chain and cherry bomb dances practices when they had 10 members at the time in NCT 127. Also black or black 2018 dance practice when just 18 members at the time. If you do the cherry bomb dance practice go with black and white bomb vers. You can see their choreography better on that one than the cherry vers.

the chorus was choreographed by the leader, taeyong! the members said he especially did a good job since he knows his members best 😊
