I 100% Agree With You Mansa, Unfortunately The Industry Fluctuates Badly For Hip Hop & Most Artists Need To Have Different Sounds In Order For Them To Follow Up With The Trends

Well I think Americans support their Own and love their own, unlike South Africans they be hatin on their Artists they don’t support their Artists, for example Tylar they are hating on her instead of supporting her for flying our flag, Nasty C has been in and out of states since 2017 but they be hating on the boi but he’s putting us on the map , South Africans should just support Nasty C up to the point that even other countries can’t deny him like Nigerian artists they are supported back at home and the world can’t deny them coz they are Booming

Honestly Mansa i dont think Us as Africans or those who still wish to blow up can consider being successful by making it big in US or UK
    Who are they??
Why cant us as AFRICANs have our own biggest awards
Why cant we have our own fanbase
Africa has a lot of talent and we tend to Go to US and make those guys rich
I wouldnt say NASTY C for being ignored in US is a downfall
It might be not what he wanted or expected but The boy is a legend here in Africa

Bro I don't think it's just American, for example when South Africans listen to Piano that's not produced in South Africa or by a South African, we feel like it's wack because the history of Piano and those sounds trace back to Kwaito and other South African sounds that can only be produced correctly here.
Americans also feel the same about Hip-Hop, especially trap. So the only way to export hip-hop music to America is when it sounds different from what they are used to. Drill and Grime are classic examples of taking hip-hop and turning it into a different and unique sound that is exportable to the US.
Lastly, there are so many guys in the US trying to make it that Americans are really not open to someone coming from outside and taking those opportunities. America is a massive massive country, with lots and lots of talent. The only way to win there is to be different..

Yip, definitely agree with U Hip-hop in States is in very iffy-Place (especially with things like P. Diddy debacle not making things any easier for Hip-hop Artists) right-now!! But I feel like Nasty C's talent cannot be denied & if he had pushed like sumone like Tyla was by Epic-Records he wld've been huge Globally before now even!!!!.... I kind of do feel Def-Jam failed Nasty C preferring to push their American-Artists; it's like U said many Americans see anything Not American as inferior or as less..... I mean one cld even make the argument tht if Nasty C had signed with Epic-Records & they pushed Nasty C like they pushed Tyla he wld've been Big alrdy cos look @how Epic pushed Tyla she opened for Chris Brown, she was doing Shows not only in US but in Africa & Europe, She was on Tv-Shows in the US & Europe Tyla was everywhere & I'm sory but Def Jam didn't do quarter of the work for Nasty C tht Epic-Records did with Tyla!!!! Also, U so right Mansa why is Def Jam not trying to push for Nasty C to do something with Tyla since she is the It-Girl @the moment tht wld be fire!!!! I also agree with U Mansa when U say Nasty C needs to experiment more with other sounds like Amapiano & Afro-beats bringing sumthing fresh to Hip-hop!!!!!

I'm still struggling to understand how everyone can't see that hip hop is on a decline in every country. When the likes of Drake are releasing an album yet no one talks about it, how do you expect someone from outside the US to be big in the US?
I feel like we're leaving in a "singles" era man. Getting outside your comfort zone and jump on an amapiano song or any genre for that matter is a way to go now

Nah nah nah Mensa i beg to differ its not about the sound.....to be honest hip hop in USA 🇺🇸 is a very very personal genre more especially to black people its all about Gangs, if an artist like Nasty C raps hip hop and isnt part of a Gang he wont go anywhere in the US. Hip hop in the US was designed for street people, whereby in 🇿🇦 anyone can do hip hop and blow up immediately without being provoked by anyone when shooting a music video out side his city/state, here in south Africa its always about "poetry" then street life no SA rapper has ever commited any milicious crimes like how US rappers are.
2ndly dont compare Tyler to Nasty C, she is more on the "white" side typer genre (musically) where black & straight people in the US dont really care about that typer music.
Nasty C needs himself a mugshot inorder to fit in the US hip hop market....without that he wont go anywhere in the US, its the naked truth that people dont want to talk about 🤷

Nasty C is trying hard to be American, and when you try to copy the culture and the accent you end up sounding fake to the Americans, because they know their accent and their own culture . But when he fakes American in Africa we don’t realize it and we kinda enjoy the fake accent thats why he is big here in Africa. I also feel that the Americans want the real African accent and African hip hop, Ricky Rick would have made it. The same happened with Trevor Noah when he first started having tours in America, before he permanently moved. Every time it was announced that an African is next on stage people would be very excited in anticipation, expecting a very black someone with funny accent and monkey jokes but everytime Trevor showed up on stage they were disappointed, because he looked like them and he sounded intelligent and didn’t have monkey jokes. When Americans import an African act, please give them an African act and originality.
