Roger Daltrey on vocals, Pete Townsend on lead guitar, and writer of the vast majority of the band's songs...the late great Keith Moon on drums and probably the greatest bass guitarist who ever lived, the late great John Entwhistle. If you'll notice, they had to tape the drummer's (Keith Moon) headphones on his head because he moved around so much they would fly off. Check out, "Love rain o're me" The original recording. Your reactions are great, Bro. PJ
When I saw them in 65 Moony had a case of Coke with the tops off. During the gig he drank them all - one handed during the performances without missing a beat
They are loud, they are ripping, they are legends. Royalty. Watching your face from the "scream and slide" to the end was so incredible. You knew you had entered a new realm of rock awesomeness. Welcome!
One of the greatest demonstrations of all time on how to properly rock and roll. These lads are from your neighborhood as well, MB. Somewhere on that bloody island. You're surrounded by greatness. They prob live a few blocks from you, RIGHT NOW!! Imagine finding Roger Daultry and getting him to come on your channel??? You'd be a legend, bro.
They are probably about 100 miles away, but yes. I saw a very young band from Las Vegas (The Dollheads) at a small gig in Woking, and said that The Jam were from Woking, and Keith Moon lived a few miles away near Chertsey. A ton of rock stars (including John Lennon at one time) lived a few miles north in the Ascot/Sunningdale area. Away from music, the Pizza Express used by Prince Andrew as an alibi was 100 yards up the road from the venue.
@@RevStickleback I suppose I'm just thinking like an American when I say they are prob MB's neighbors. 100 miles is nothing in the States, as you prob know.
I am 72 years old and have loved The Who since "I Can See For Miles", which was their first singles released in the States. British Invasion indeed! It was a stone cold takeover of the rock music scene here!
I saw them in 1967 at The Fillmore East. Keith Moon had "Glow in the Dark" drumsticks, and when the lights were turned off, all you could see was the sticks dancing across the drum kit. Then of course, the kit exploded. He was THE Wild Man of the drums , and the band rocked. I loved their pre- Tommy period, especially the album, "The Who Sell Out"!
I remember being a sophomore in high school and I went to the Who in 1976 in St. Paul, MN with a friend. I thought that our seats behind the stage were going to stink but OMG!! We were about 8 feet above the level of the stage behind the drums and I'll never forget Roger Daltrey and the iconic microphone swing! Best seats in the house! 😁 Great times! Great review!😊❤ Deep rabbit hole there!😉
The lead singer Roger Daltrey is 80 years old and still performing! He is not only a singer but an accomplished actor too. He has acted in 49 plus movies. Two of my favorites is Tommy and The Legacy.
Lmaolmaolollol, just laughing my ass off and grinning from ear-to-ear at your reaction at each next thing. So many iconic moments here. And such a heavy influence in so many different directions to especially alternative bands and punk bands emerging a bit later. Definitely check out the studio version of this at some point but dang, man, it's such a deep rabbit hole, because they had a lot of hits early on in the late sixties. And then they just kept getting bigger and bigger and they were a household name in the US easily by the early seventies, and all over the world. At least as early as I can remember as a little kid. They have so many incredible hits and songs and fan favorites along the way - it's impossible man, there's just so much. Baba O'Riley might be a good one for you to check out next. And it's a huge favorite and so I know it would do well. But really there are so many.
????? I figured of all people, YOU would have been a huge fan of Keith Moon!! The man was great, sense of humor that was just outrageous, and he didn't play the drums....he ATTACKED them!! One of the top 3 best drummers of all time. Great reaction, kiddo!!!!
I watched a RUclips short yesterday. Alice Cooper saying that only 30% of what we've heard about him, Ozzy Osbourne and Marilyn Manson is true, but everything we've heard about Keith Moon is true, and we've only heard 10%. Said Moon came to stay with him, Alice and wife came home to find Moon in a French maid outfit dusting.😊
Isn't Molly Boy English? I don't understand how it's possible never to have heard this. Even if it's not his style of music, it must be played everywhere still.
I agree. It's really amazing that the, I think, the 3 greatest bands in history,Beatles,Stones, and the Who, all came out at roughly the same time from the UK about 60 years ago!!!!
Pete Townsend (guitar) and Roger Daltry (vocals) are still with us, Molly. Keith Moon (drums) and John Entwistle (bass) have passed on. Each one is a master, if not THE master, of what they did. The Who is in the same stratosphere as the Stones, Led Zep, and the Beatles. And they’re at their peak here!
I have been watching all your reactions and now you have moved up a level 🤣🤣 to my fave band.. This is what happens when you get one of the best vocalists, guitarists, drummers and bass players, writers and performers of theatre together on stage. Watch the Who, read about the Who, listen to the Who. 😂
And they didn't kill each other, but only because Pete knew to not push Roger too hard, and everybody knew not to push the Ox, and Keith was too busy killing himself with booze and drugs.
I was lucky enough to see them live on four occasions, including once at the old Wembley Stadium; I had been comped and viewed from the Royal Box (albeit no Royals being present) where I got into a brawl with a drunken Scotsman! I have to say however, that their best performance I saw was at the old Valley football ground (capacity 90,000), home of Charlton Athletic F.C. in (I think) 1975 where they also utilised lasers, The Who being the first private owners of laser technology in the UK. It was epic!
Your face when Roger Daltry screamed - OMG - PRICELESS!! I was waiting for that! Brilliant reaction - as always! Geddy Lee (Rush) named this song when asked what song he wishes he would have written ... the Who were one of his favorite and most influential bands
So glad you liked it. I saw them a few years back. Older now, not smashing guitars, but still exceptional. Hope you get to experience any part of them live. They've adapted to age and are still exceptional.
The Who-A Quick One (while he’s away) live at The Rolling Stones Rock n Roll Circus is in my top 3 live performances of all time and literally changed my life seeing it as a teenager, Other great one is Grand Funk Railroad - Inside looking out live from 1969.
In that performance, when they play "Forgiven", the backing vocals they sing are "cello cello cello cello" as a dig at their management who had refused to shell out for cellists!
My dude, these guys are Rock Royalty. You owe it to yourself to do a deep dive into this iconic band. Was fortunate enough to see them twice, many years in between. The 1975 show broke all records for the loudest show in history. Everything about that show was magical. R.I.P. Keith and John. Seeing them again 40 years later was a more subdued but still highly enjoyable experience. The scream was still there and Daltrey's voice has held up remarkably well. Cool reaction bro', enjoy the rest of The Who's catalog.
I saw The Who 5 times and I saw them do this song 3 times. Keith was still alive for 4 of the 5 shows. All of the shows were cataclysmic. Your reaction to this performance was fun to watch. They are one of the absolute superstar Rock bands. I was curious what you would think of them. In my heart I knew you'd like them because you have that rock and glint in your eyes. Cheers to you, MollyBoy, from Boston, USA.

Anyway, i hope you read this, i love your reactions. Don't twist your essence for anyone. Music is awesome, let's fuckin goooo
Smashing stuff???? The Who, 1967, The Smothers Brothers TV show, Keith had some explosive in his bass drum exploded - permanently damaging Pete's hearing. Fun times.

Thank you so much for this. I'd forgotten how good they were. I grew up with this stuff. Mind you, I also love a lot of modern music. That is the beauty of music. Thank you again.
Congratulations! You finally got smacked in the face by one of the greatest live bands ever. Promise me you'll react to more live performances of "The Who"! I love how John Entwhistle (bassist) looks like a father telling his kids to "... go out there and have fun - just don't hurt yourselves. I'll hold down the bass riff." Pete Townshend (guitarist), Roger Daltry (vocals), and Keith Moon (one of the greatest drummers and wildest characters ever). Well worth diving into their catalog. "Baba O'Reilly", "Can't Explain", "Pinball Wizard", "My Generation", "Who Are You"... so many more to list.
Keith Moon was a BEAST on the drums....John Entwistle on BASS (known as Thunderfingers)....Roger Daltrey on vocals, and Pete Townshend on guitar - OMG: ALL these guys are JUST SO EXTREMELY TALENTED!! SO MANY BANGERS!!! ENJOY!!!
I remember seeing an ad for the movie in a NYC news paper. Pete was holding a guitar 🎸 over his head..and it said “this guitar has three seconds to live.” I was hooked.
Pete Townsend, first known musician to smash up his guitar on stage - 1964. He must have enjoyed it. Drummer Keith Moon was a maniac. Joe Walsh (the somewhat nuts guitarist with the bandana on Eagles Hotel California vid you've reacted to) said the scariest thing that ever happened to him was when Keith decided he liked him. Moon used to smash through hotel walls to ask the person on the other side if they'd like to drink with him. Check out the YT vid of them in the studio doing "Who Are You?" - it's great and their personalities really show through. But they've got a massive catalogue. They've always been the working lad's version of rock. LIke they just rolled out of the pub and decided to either do a song or find a fight.
It took you long enough! Roger and Pete, the lead singer and the lead guitar player were always trying to outdo each other, they had tons of fun when they were on stage! The drummer is so energetic he has to tape his headphones to his head! Not a bad light show for the 1970's hey! You have a deep dive with this catalog!
Just your face being blown away by the sound coming from the Who just makes my day . Nice to see you enjoying the music I grew up on . I live in the states and every time they toured here I would go . Greatest show you would see . Enjoy the music .
I was about your age when this song first came out! Saw them in Boston, First Row Balcony. I almost fell off the Balcony listening to this incredible performance!
Never forget your countrymen brought that to the world. In America, the blues were played and heard. The British took that and gave us so very much. Thank you for reacting to The Who!!!
Further to previous comment. You really are born out of time. You really would have loved the 60s & 70s. I have watched many 'reaction videos', but you have been the only one who really, really got into the vibe.😊😊😊
My young dude, there was once a time when you could turn the radio on your local FM rock station and you heard a great song like this back to back to back. It's so nice to see your reaction, the look on your face was of perpetually being at the top of the first hill on a roller coaster slowly creeping over. That is rock'n'roll!
I saw The Who in 1974 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Had tickets close to the left of the stage. Best concert I ever went to. They closed the concert with Won’t Get Fooled Again. My ears were ringing through the following day.
My favorite thing about the Who is that you have Keith Moon, absolute Madman on the drums, Pete Townsend, another absolute madman on guitar, Roger Daltrey on vocals like the Golden Rock God he was, and then theres John Entwistle , also a god on the bass, but just kinda chillin and enjoying the groove.
I ve seen the Who 7 times live from 1968 on , they never disappoint, their live show just build layer after layer until you just don't believe it will go another layer or louder , they do OMG

Welcome!
Their 1971 album, "Who's Next" has always been one of my favorites and includes many hits including the one you just displayed.
They’re from London. I think Molly Boy is more northern. .
@@TheDivayenta That's why I said, "somewhere on that bloody island". Everyone is a neighbor compared to the US.
@@RevStickleback I suppose I'm just thinking like an American when I say they are prob MB's neighbors. 100 miles is nothing in the States, as you prob know.
@@snakeinthegrass7443 Yeah. England has 57 million people in an area almost exactly the same size as Alabama.
I am 72 years old and have loved The Who since "I Can See For Miles", which was their first singles released in the States. British Invasion indeed! It was a stone cold takeover of the rock music scene here!
That is a fantastic track!
The dude on the guitar is Pete Townsend - he wrote most of their music. The drummer is Keith the loon Moon. So excited seeing U watch this!!
Another classic. The Who - "Behind Blue Eyes" and "Love Reign O'r Me" next.
Of all things The Who's song behind blue eyes had a fantastic cover by limp biszkat. So please also check that one out one day.
Great review!😊❤ Deep rabbit hole there!😉
The Who catalog is massive and dates back to the mid 60s. This channel won't run out of reaction material for a very long time
The lead singer Roger Daltrey is 80 years old and still performing! He is not only a singer but an accomplished actor too. He has acted in 49 plus movies. Two of my favorites is Tommy and The Legacy.
I'm 67 now and we jammed hard to this band back in the day! 👍🏻👍🏻
Keith Moon's drumming style was so bombastic that he didn't use Hi-Hats, just Ride and Crash cymbals!
"Moon the Loon"
The best scream in Rock history, period. Roger had great pipes.
The Who is legit an Al-Time Top 3 band
Can hardly believe this was your first reaction to them. They’re truly legendary.
The Who were the dog's bollocks. Unmatched. Unequalled. Unsurpassed.
That's known as the greatest scream in rock & roll.... ever!!
I have been watching all your reactions and now you have moved up a level 🤣🤣 to my fave band.. This is what happens when you get one of the best vocalists, guitarists, drummers and bass players, writers and performers of theatre together on stage. Watch the Who, read about the Who, listen to the Who. 😂
Lead singer , lead bass, lead drummer and lead guitarist all at one time ! They are probably the best live performers ever
And they didn't kill each other, but only because Pete knew to not push Roger too hard, and everybody knew not to push the Ox, and Keith was too busy killing himself with booze and drugs.
@@wadehines9971Not quite - Roger did knock Pete spark out.
@@wadehines9971 Pete and Roger had physical fights. Roger usually won them though... they were Mods from Shepherd's Bush, good ol' West London Boys!
That's My Band . Long Live The Who
Mine too. ✌
So incredibly talented on every instrument, from bass, to lead, drums and vocals. Just an amazing band
Best scream in Rock 'n Roll history.
I've suggested the Grand Funk .. that performance is epic!
This !!!
This song has the greatest scream in rock music. That’s all, folks!
I see your "Won't Get Fooled Again" and raise you "Careful With That Axe Eugene".
You should listen to "Baba O'Riley" next. It'll make your head spin. :D
FOR SURE!!
You know it's a great tune when Pearl Jam covers it at almost every show for YEARS ❤
The real name of that song ought to be "Teenage Wasteland".
@ says every single person that has ever heard it. But it's not.
Man i really really love your Rewinds, like you're allowing yourself to absorb the most of the song.
We heard this shi hundreds of times, why can't you just listen twice????
Anyway, i hope you read this, i love your reactions. Don't twist your essence for anyone.
Music is awesome, let's fuckin goooo
My Generation-The Who Freaked out our parents...
I saw these gentlemen in May 2019.....STILL WILD LOUD CRAZY GREAT!!! ❤
Smashing stuff???? The Who, 1967, The Smothers Brothers TV show, Keith had some explosive in his bass drum exploded - permanently damaging Pete's hearing. Fun times.
Oh yes!!! Smothers Brothers 'My Generation' will BLOW YOUR MIND!!!! (Also known to cause power outages and fainting spells) 😂😂😂 Love the intro..."My friends call me Keith, you can call me John"
Brother this a wonderful rabbit hole of a band to dig into ! ✌️
Quadrophenia will change your life 😊🎉❤
One of my Top 5 albums!!
So will Tommy!
My favorite too.
Quadrophenia changed all our lives
Mollyboy these tunes and reactions will make you a millionaire 😊 the British scooter scene is the biggest in the world keep it up
I mean this as a compliment: i love the innocence and naivety here, 'that dude on guitar ' - one of THE guitar icons 😄
Never change Mollyboy!
Welcome to the greatest rock band in history
Don't be silly now.
Not nearly. They're good but they're nowhere near the greatest rock band in history
@@Wishes890Could you be more wrong? You’ll be telling next that Stockport County will win the league!
@seancorker5815 Who?
Wishes890 You know the WHO
Thank you so much for this. I'd forgotten how good they were. I grew up with this stuff. Mind you, I also love a lot of modern music. That is the beauty of music. Thank you again.
Keith Moon has his headset duct taped to his head. Love it.
Los ponía con una cinta adhesiva para mantener su pelo ordenado, jajajaja 🤣🤣...lo sigo adorando, aunque era hiperkinetico y algo depresivo 😢
Quién eres tú...una de mis favoritas 😊
Keith Moon was a BEAST on the drums....John Entwistle on BASS (known as Thunderfingers)....Roger Daltrey on vocals, and Pete Townshend on guitar - OMG: ALL these guys are JUST SO EXTREMELY TALENTED!! SO MANY BANGERS!!! ENJOY!!!
I'm reliving Dec 1971 and the best concert I've ever experienced. A magical moment. Thanks! XOXO❤
Every "be kind and rewind" was Perfect!
I remember seeing an ad for the movie in a NYC news paper. Pete was holding a guitar 🎸 over his head..and it said “this guitar has three seconds to live.” I was hooked.
Oh wow. This is what Rock stars can only dream they could have been like
Pete Townsend, first known musician to smash up his guitar on stage - 1964.
For Daltry being pint sized he sure has a GIANT voice. John Entwistle is always a treat to listen to.
bro......
i started listening to them when i was 13....... now at age 59 they remain my all-time favorite band...... nobody else is even close!
The who are amazing and i dont lie when i say they are amazing and are full of great songs, such as behind blue eyes and my generation🔥🤘
You make me feel like I’m seeing and hearing this again for the first time….. that smile on your face says it all…… 👍
Yesssssss! Bought my first Who album (Who's Next) in 1971 and love them still. Roger Daltry and Pete Townsend are amazing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you for the heart, I appreciate it!
Yessssssss! Thank you @Mollyboy! ❤ These guys are the definition of the word rockstar, and their music is pure Rock n Roll.
Oh and next, Baba O’Reilly, but the studio version!
You can't miss out on "The Who". There seems to be people who won't let you miss out.
Fantastic watching you discover one of my favourite bands! What a wormhole you have to go down with this lot 😀
Pete Townsend !!!!! Another great !!!! ❤
Just your face being blown away by the sound coming from the Who just makes my day . Nice to see you enjoying the music I grew up on . I live in the states and every time they toured here I would go . Greatest show you would see . Enjoy the music .
i'm very excited for you. you've never heard the freakin who! omg. you're so lucky to have it all ahead of you. love them.
Love Reign O’Er Me should be next on your upcoming Who journey. Epic song and perhaps the greatest rock vocal performance ever
My young dude, there was once a time when you could turn the radio on your local FM rock station and you heard a great song like this back to back to back. It's so nice to see your reaction, the look on your face was of perpetually being at the top of the first hill on a roller coaster slowly creeping over. That is rock'n'roll!
One of the top five drummers in the world for sure
Yo diría que el más grande de todos los tiempos!!
Desgraciadamente su vida fué tan corta...😢
Looney Moon, siempre en mi corazón ❤️
I saw The Who in 1974 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Had tickets close to the left of the stage. Best concert I ever went to. They closed the concert with Won’t Get Fooled Again. My ears were ringing through the following day.
I'm so glad you like The Who. They started out over 50 years ago and they kept us dancing and jumping for decades.
They are amazing.. keep going with the reactions.. so many brilliant songs!!! British bands are incredible.
I ve seen the Who 7 times live from 1968 on , they never disappoint, their live show just build layer after layer until you just don't believe it will go another layer or louder , they do OMG
Pause and rewind all you want, my brother. This is one of the great anthems in the history of rock and roll.
One of the greatest bands ever!
Yeaaaaaaah!
The greatest scream 😱!
Roger started the microphone swing. It's part of the magic!
Doing a great job, kiddo, keep it up. 🎉
I knew you'd love this one. They're rocking out. I was lucky enough to see them live, awesome concert. This song is a favorite of mine
