You cannot apply that BS for every gamer. If you like only the Chinese dub and English subtitles, that's you but you do not speak for all of us. Just like any mainstream games and professional dev, you cater to all mainstream languages audio and subtitles just like the famous American, Polish, Japanese, etc. devs and pubs do. You would not like a foreign game to not represent your countries main languages that are used, no different here. The main languages are: English French German Italian Spanish/Portuguese Japanese Russian Chinese That needs audio and subtitles, nothing less or that game is destined to fail, big time! You can't call yourself a global game dev but only caters to one or two audio languages and subtitled all the rest of the world. The game looks graphically amazing of course, but even more than that the art direction is fantastic. I *love* the monster designs. Also the music is great. Supremely hype.
I really like the enemy designs as well! In a lot of other monkey king games they tend to look cartoonish, so I'm glad they took a more gritty approach with this game!

Wukong is a character I always loved when I was younger, so having a game about Wukong that looks this beautiful is incredible! I hope for the best for this game and the game developers.

Looks really good, thank you for this, as a Chinese I’m happy companies are willing to take risk to develop high budget video games. Thanks for showing us that not every Chinese companies need to be a toxic mess like Tencent who will try to harm the industry as much as possible

My Chinese reading skill isn’t perfect, but man, I would love to help join you in a translation/localization subproject to Vietnamese. Our cultures have A LOT in common and parts of the in-game texts can be directly transliterated into our script. The majority of the Vietnamese-speaking population has been familiar with 西遊記 forever, and I’m sure a fresh retelling of the story in a video game will be a much well-received experience by Vietnamese fans in general. HOLY, I don't think I've been this HYPED in a while. Every single trailer has blown me away thus far, from the combat, variety of enemies and just all out visuals. Truly a marvel to the eye, from what I've seen and heard this game will continue to be polished to perfection, I have no doubt that they will deliver and that this is all really just truthful and passionate marketing (you can really tell they are putting their all into this) I will continue waiting patiently for that hopeful release in 2023. I'm 31, been played video games for my whole life, and tot I've had enough of games and never gonna be hyped for any game anymore. Then this game had to shows up...
They're literally fighting as if the snow doesn't exist. It doesn't slow them down at all. There's no big upkick or chunk splashes. Snow just goes down. No matter what they're stepping on, it doesn't affect their height elevation, their feet and legs just clips through. Have you never walked on snow before?
@@VincentNacon Dude I live in snow (Canada) and with the amount of snow you can see in this game it wouldn't affect your height at all or you wouldn't even notice it, if the snow is dry it won't affect your speed either, you clearly have no idea how snow works IRL, it's not glue it's water molecules.
This game is a dream come true. Hopefully it will inspire more people to delve into the extremely rich Chinese mythology and perhaps even create something more out of it.
The source material ain't the problem (Chinese mythology). We have plenty of great source material/deep history to pull form, anywhere in the world. The problem is complacency and the same boring gameplay mechanics. Our current game devs are just downright lazy and don't wanna do the work. They all just want that loot box money. But you can't blame them alone, especially when you have so many mediocre/accept anything gamers. The Japanese have become stagnant and refuse to change, they also don't know how to make a damn game for the PC and the Koreans came on the scene with fresh blood but they just wanna do filthy MMOS all damn day. The Eu DEVS have been steady and innovative but they can only go but so far. And the American devs/publishers are just greedy as fuq. Hopefully the Chinese can bring something exciting to the table. We shall see if it's fluff or substance, soon enough.

Unless I'm wrong, I thought that the devs left their old company because they were tired of Tencent, and yet here they are being sponsored by Epic games, an american company in which Tencent owns majority shares in. I'm sure the final product is going to be really good, but I'm a little worried about that and the prospect of exclusivity. I like to use Steam to buy my games and Epic Games has a history of strongarming developers to launch on their platform exclusively.
@@NightmareBlade10 Yes, the devs team were sick of Tencent so they had left to create their own dream version of Chinese mythology games. So I don't think they would let the greedy Tencent influence their work again. But as for the "prospect of exclusivity", it's hard to say which platform they would choose and partner with to launch their game into the world.

This looks insanely good! It gets more impressive each time I see more :) I particularly love the snow effects and the ice cracking sound on the dragon! The bosses it previews towards the end all look amazing too! Super hyped for this, awesome job!
@@acscw8408 Yo, if you think you can scale UE5 like indefinitely that's not how it works. Just enabling some of the key features has major minimum hardware requirements. This demo will run in real-time only on the best current-gen PC hardware and even then only at 30fps-ish. Hell you can tell by the footage that it ain't the smoothest of rides.
@@acscw8408 I watched "The Coalition" developer note on UE5. These are the guys closest to Epic and have the best knowledge of UE. Basic scenes featuring Nanite & Lumen are really heavy on Series X hardware and they run them in 1080p using the built in upscaling. Meaning even with a 3090, this demo is not gonna run at all normally. Black Myth was developed on UE4. They're just showing you how cool it all looks when using UE5 and thus the highest quality assets. But this is not intended to be playable with current-gen hardware.

So crazy the sheer amount of enemy variety and the creativity with all the small details each one has. Each one doing a specific style each one having its own look design attack it's just absolutely insane and truly a dream come true! I'm so hyped for this game and I can't freaking wait!
When you know you're making one of the first Unreal 5 game, you know you have to present it in the most spectacular way possible. This honestly isn't like any other AAA game trailers we've ever seen in a long time. Hope this game will come out great!

I definitely recommend the book or one of the movies(There are 2 movies in Netflix which are basically a short version of the book first and second arc, basically). The name of the book is Journey to the West.
You may not know. The four famous works of ancient China are very popular in Asia. Total War: Three Kingdoms is derived from The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and now this game is derived from Journey to the West.The other two books are: Outlaws of the Marsh and A Dream of Red Mansions. I'm not sure if my translation is accurate. Friends who know can correct my comments.
@@lf5538 Are you reading the full 100 chapter Journey to the West? I read the full four volume translation by Anthony C. Yu, and I would honestly recommend reading an abridged version to anyone who is interested. After the first twenty or so chapters, many of the chapters follow a very repetitive format, which reminded me of the writing of a serialized tv show.
To developer, if you feel game is not ready for release, don't release it. Make sure to cook game properly before serving, Cyberpunk really put sour taste in our mouths.

@@user-wz6fp1vl8m I do notice in some of the stages in the chapters there seems like they were working on many things like different pathways etc. but notice they literally just put a dead end with a wall collision. Even bosses have been put in different areas and some enemy bosses were demoted to regulars. It’s strange because so much has changed especially coming from a test to finish product I believe Game Science focused primarily solely on just boss fights that I kinda felt we needed a more solid fluid story base to solidify this as a GOTY. Rating for this game should be at least a 8.7/10 although not perfect yet I believe if they do add a DLC it’ll probably bolster this game more than leaving it this way.
Amazing job guys this is insane,the art direction is from another planet, keep it up guys games like this one requires a lot of time to be made so take as much time as you need.
For those wondering what the little red mark is in the title, that's the indication for the number 1; there's gunna be multiple Black Myth titles based off of old mythical creatures.

Every time something is released about this title I am equal parts excited and concerned, but undeniably amazed. It's not their fault though, it's the fault of these AAA developers that have burned us time and time again.
8:34 Just breathtaking. I don’t want to gush too much about the visuals as it seems there is a lot more going on here, but every frame is stunning. The depiction of Wukong is so badass too. There is going to be a lot of fan art that comes from the this game.
The game has very little actual marketing. Maybe you mean overhype, because most of the "marketing" I've seen it is word of mouth from other people who are hyped about the game, not official news/trailers/etc. Heck, this channel uploaded last video 6 months ago, I wouldn't call that "overmarketing" by any stretch.
@@radosawskorupa3217 Exactly. You don't see any dev talks, no E3 conventions, no promises for 16x the detail or anything like that. They aren't taking to twitter and making ironic meta jokes about the gaming industry. So far all of what we've seen of the game has been nothing but gameplay. Not some heavily scripted hour long intro sequence, but actual nonlinear gameplay from different parts of a playthrough. This game is gonna be awesome because they SHOW you how good the game is going to be rather than TELLING you.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they work their employees to death. Some game developers here in the US overwork their employees and with the way the Chinese government treats its citizens, I wouldn’t put it past a lot of businesses to take advantage of their employees. There’s nothing they could do about it if they were being mistreated.

@@jfitzmaurice7778 from what I gather from Chinese fans, the white dragon is Kang Jin Long, in the Journey to the West story, he was an important character that rescued Wukong (with his horn...) after Wukong got captured and trapped inside of a golden cymbal (the UFO thing we've seen at the end of the video)

The game looks soo beautiful. There's megascans in the game. It's so detailed. I want to add some feedback. First off. Hi I've self taught myself some computer animations and I'm into dynamic details. Can you guys add breath fog effects on the characters in the snowy stage? Depending how hard they breathe, there would be little or a lot of breath fogs. The dynamics for the snow is fantastic! Are there resistances in the movement of the character in the snow? Like WuKong would slow down 0.2 seconds when he is making a path in the snow. Can you guys make it so the ice debris,pieces or anything that breaks or die stay on screen and not disappear after awhile? Will there be people npcs in the game? Like visiting a village with people in it and WuKong would transform into a human to blend in. It might be too soon to introduce the master, piggy and tank in this installment. But I'll look forward for them coming together. Can you guys add maybe Cantonese too?😊 I am looking forward to reliving one of my favorite childhood TV show into a video game. Can't easily till this is out!

The majority of the Vietnamese-speaking population has been familiar with 西遊記 forever, and I’m sure a fresh retelling of the story in a video game will be a much well-received experience by Vietnamese fans in general.

HOLY, I don't think I've been this HYPED in a while. Every single trailer has blown me away thus far, from the combat, variety of enemies and just all out visuals. Truly a marvel to the eye, from what I've seen and heard this game will continue to be polished to perfection, I have no doubt that they will deliver and that this is all really just truthful and passionate marketing (you can really tell they are putting their all into this)

the snow fighting scene is unmatched !!! every frame could be a wallpaper!
They're literally fighting as if the snow doesn't exist. It doesn't slow them down at all. There's no big upkick or chunk splashes. Snow just goes down. No matter what they're stepping on, it doesn't affect their height elevation, their feet and legs just clips through. Have you never walked on snow before?

This game is a dream come true. Hopefully it will inspire more people to delve into the extremely rich Chinese mythology and perhaps even create something more out of it.
The source material ain't the problem (Chinese mythology). We have plenty of great source material/deep history to pull form, anywhere in the world. The problem is complacency and the same boring gameplay mechanics. Our current game devs are just downright lazy and don't wanna do the work. They all just want that loot box money. But you can't blame them alone, especially when you have so many mediocre/accept anything gamers. The Japanese have become stagnant and refuse to change, they also don't know how to make a damn game for the PC and the Koreans came on the scene with fresh blood but they just wanna do filthy MMOS all damn day. The Eu DEVS have been steady and innovative but they can only go but so far. And the American devs/publishers are just greedy as fuq. Hopefully the Chinese can bring something exciting to the table. We shall see if it's fluff or substance, soon enough.

Unless I'm wrong, I thought that the devs left their old company because they were tired of Tencent, and yet here they are being sponsored by Epic games, an american company in which Tencent owns majority shares in. I'm sure the final product is going to be really good, but I'm a little worried about that and the prospect of exclusivity. I like to use Steam to buy my games and Epic Games has a history of strongarming developers to launch on their platform exclusively.

So I don't think they would let the greedy Tencent influence their work again. But as for the "prospect of exclusivity", it's hard to say which platform they would choose and partner with to launch their game into the world.

@@acscw8408 Yo, if you think you can scale UE5 like indefinitely that's not how it works. Just enabling some of the key features has major minimum hardware requirements. This demo will run in real-time only on the best current-gen PC hardware and even then only at 30fps-ish. Hell you can tell by the footage that it ain't the smoothest of rides.

@@acscw8408 I watched "The Coalition" developer note on UE5. These are the guys closest to Epic and have the best knowledge of UE. Basic scenes featuring Nanite & Lumen are really heavy on Series X hardware and they run them in 1080p using the built in upscaling. Meaning even with a 3090, this demo is not gonna run at all normally. Black Myth was developed on UE4. They're just showing you how cool it all looks when using UE5 and thus the highest quality assets. But this is not intended to be playable with current-gen hardware.
This looks extraordinary, not just the gameplay but the setting and story. I hope this turns out to be as legendary as the legends it’s based on. Keep up the good work! 👍🏻

When you know you're making one of the first Unreal 5 game, you know you have to present it in the most spectacular way possible. This honestly isn't like any other AAA game trailers we've ever seen in a long time. Hope this game will come out great!

I definitely recommend the book or one of the movies(There are 2 movies in Netflix which are basically a short version of the book first and second arc, basically). The name of the book is Journey to the West.
You may not know. The four famous works of ancient China are very popular in Asia. Total War: Three Kingdoms is derived from The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and now this game is derived from Journey to the West.The other two books are: Outlaws of the Marsh and A Dream of Red Mansions. I'm not sure if my translation is accurate. Friends who know can correct my comments.

@@lf5538 Are you reading the full 100 chapter Journey to the West? I read the full four volume translation by Anthony C. Yu, and I would honestly recommend reading an abridged version to anyone who is interested. After the first twenty or so chapters, many of the chapters follow a very repetitive format, which reminded me of the writing of a serialized tv show.
To developer, if you feel game is not ready for release, don't release it. Make sure to cook game properly before serving, Cyberpunk really put sour taste in our mouths.
it's the production houses that set the dates.. whereas this one just takes their time to perfect the craft.
When it’s purely ready, then announce a release date without delaying it. I won’t be preordering also.
And two things: dont show too much and dont hype too much before the product finalized. Remember Anthem, No Man Sky and Cyberpunk.

Came here to look at the trailer and notice that this game looks very different now.
Seems like they deleted an entire map from game, might be in dlc tho
@@user-wz6fp1vl8m I do notice in some of the stages in the chapters there seems like they were working on many things like different pathways etc. but notice they literally just put a dead end with a wall collision. Even bosses have been put in different areas and some enemy bosses were demoted to regulars. It’s strange because so much has changed especially coming from a test to finish product I believe Game Science focused primarily solely on just boss fights that I kinda felt we needed a more solid fluid story base to solidify this as a GOTY. Rating for this game should be at least a 8.7/10 although not perfect yet I believe if they do add a DLC it’ll probably bolster this game more than leaving it this way.

Every time something is released about this title I am equal parts excited and concerned, but undeniably amazed. It's not their fault though, it's the fault of these AAA developers that have burned us time and time again.

The game has very little actual marketing. Maybe you mean overhype, because most of the "marketing" I've seen it is word of mouth from other people who are hyped about the game, not official news/trailers/etc. Heck, this channel uploaded last video 6 months ago, I wouldn't call that "overmarketing" by any stretch.
@@radosawskorupa3217 Exactly. You don't see any dev talks, no E3 conventions, no promises for 16x the detail or anything like that. They aren't taking to twitter and making ironic meta jokes about the gaming industry. So far all of what we've seen of the game has been nothing but gameplay. Not some heavily scripted hour long intro sequence, but actual nonlinear gameplay from different parts of a playthrough. This game is gonna be awesome because they SHOW you how good the game is going to be rather than TELLING you.

遊戲畫面已經好到不用說什麼了，
不過戰鬥音效部分的話，希望金箍棒打起來的音效能夠更帶感，
譬如8:04龍爪從右上到左下揮下來的時候有立體音效，很有臨場感，
可是接下來玩家角色反擊棒子敲到湖面的聲音就顯得虛虛的，
或是像7:48用亂舞在龍身上狂歐的時候也是。
希望棒子敲起來能夠乒乒乓乓的，光聽聲音就能讓人覺得會眼冒金星 XD

Some game developers here in the US overwork their employees and with the way the Chinese government treats its citizens, I wouldn’t put it past a lot of businesses to take advantage of their employees. There’s nothing they could do about it if they were being mistreated.

@@jfitzmaurice7778 from what I gather from Chinese fans, the white dragon is Kang Jin Long, in the Journey to the West story, he was an important character that rescued Wukong (with his horn...) after Wukong got captured and trapped inside of a golden cymbal (the UFO thing we've seen at the end of the video)

Hi I've self taught myself some computer animations and I'm into dynamic details.
Can you guys add breath fog effects on the characters in the snowy stage? Depending how hard they breathe, there would be little or a lot of breath fogs.
The dynamics for the snow is fantastic! Are there resistances in the movement of the character in the snow? Like WuKong would slow down 0.2 seconds when he is making a path in the snow.
Can you guys make it so the ice debris,pieces or anything that breaks or die stay on screen and not disappear after awhile?
Will there be people npcs in the game? Like visiting a village with people in it and WuKong would transform into a human to blend in.
It might be too soon to introduce the master, piggy and tank in this installment. But I'll look forward for them coming together.
