Dave ,Derek from the Great Southern Continent ,congratulations on buying the Luger ,it's impossible to have too many boats !Quote from Wind in the Willows ,Ratty to Mole "Believe me my young friend there is nothing ,absolutely nothing half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats" .This is one of the basic truths in our universe !If you ever make a trip down under look me up ,I have a few boats myself and we can sail .Regards Derek.

Hi Derek, many thanks for the comment. I watch a few Aussie based channels and i'm so envious of the waters they have down there. Especially around the East coast, there seems to be so many big inlets, coves, lakes etc to explore. If I ever make it I will be sure to get in touch!!!

Getting there Dave, come next year that'll be a slick and smooth operation. I forget the name of it but like Murphy's law, the is a similar law which states that the chances of something going wrong are in direct proportion to the number and importance of those watching. Seems very applicable to reversing a trailer!
    Best wishes
    Al

Dave, if your concerned about the wheel bearings, fit bearing savers to the hubs, they are easy to fit and my bearings now last about 5 or 6 years.
Without the bearing savers they lasted about 2 years maximum.
Also why don't you use the slipway by your space?, it looks fine to use with your boat.....

Hi Tommo, I will look into those. This year the boat has been on a mooring in the lake so the trailer has not been used much, but next year I have plans so might be worth a good look.
I actually tried a few times before moving to the other ones, but it proved to be way too shallow so you end up reversing out way too far. The slabs also run out too early and then the water goes from "shallow-ish" to about 30M in a few metres. It's like a continental shelf!!! The ramps by the club are way better once you get the hang of them.
However I have seen a fisherman launch his little cuddy boat from there so maybe its worth a 2nd go next season?
