@@charleslegresley461 I really do. Alot of work went into creating this piece. I'm watching and learning what I can about this process so I can try my hand at it. Your video just had something extra to it, and I love your particular style. Do you use primarily copper sheet for your work? And if you don't mind, what gauge sheets do you like best to work with? One of the concerns I have is how to protect the design once it's done. I haven't seen much about that part of the process. Do you back fill any of your pieces to protect the structures you've created? Just wondering if you have any special tips or tricks for me to keep in mind. I was thinking I might like to incorporate this type of art into my wood carvings, and possibly also into jewelry. It's beautiful on its own as an art, but I love mixing things together. I would love to hear any feedback if you have the time.
@@kjirstenboucher9682 Did this for many years, around twelve I think. There is a lot to consider, you try things, some work better than some, I tried many types of backfill but it depends how strong you want it protect it, search online I'm sure you'll find something. I cannot explain everything, I just tried it with variable degrees of succes, if you read the comments you will find some answers to your questions. Art is a journey :)
@@charleslegresley461 Well, you do beautiful work. I agree wholeheartedly, art is a journey. I've loved art my whole life, but only really made it a priority in my life over the past year.At 50, who knows how many years I have left, so I am doing what I love, and I am loving the journey. Thanks for taking the time to comment back, I appreciate it. I will definitely keep on the lookout for the information I'm seeking, and I'm sure I'll experiment with many things. You make it look easy, but I am certain I have a learning curve ahead. Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent. I hope you have an incredible day, and many more.😊
@@kjirstenboucher9682 Thanks again for your kind words. That's so awesome that you took the step from looking to creating. Own it fully and thrive, it's never too late to start :) I started to get more serious in art in my early thirties and 30 years later I'm still adding new arforms, just took on piano, and love it, I'm improvising my own tunes, keeps me in the flow :) Cheers.
C'est magnifique ! Je cherche ou me fournir en métal à repousser car il y a de plus en plus de ruptures de stock définitives dans les boutiques d'art. Des conseils ? Merci :)
I do a lot of Repousse' but am interested in this thin metal technique. But cannot fine a source for the tools. I am also a black smith and make all my many reopusse' tools. Can you steer me to where I can find the tools or if nothing else picture of the working ends.
Bought the tools in a leather craft shop many years ago. I've been searching but I don't know where to get them anymore. One of the tools that you can see in the video looks like a small spoon with one bigger than the other on each tip. I have another one with two small balls on each tip and the other one is just like two small pics to do texture.
Thanks! There are various thickness of copper sheets available. I use the 5 mil (.005 inches thick) 36 gauge. You can order www.allfoils.com or here basiccopper.com/thicknessguide.html

Very nice work. Mind telling me where the tools 'you are using' are called and where you purchase them?

Do you just rub the beeswax over it and afterwards, how do you remove the wax?
+Janice Lane Yes I just rub the copper sheet with a cloth with beeswax before I start. The firing with the torch removes it.
What i find most impressive about this is that you haven't laid out a design on the sheet. Its seemingly freehand.
i expect to win the lottery and you will be first to teach your skills in our school
How thick is that copper ?
There are various thickness of copper sheets available. I use .005 inch gauge.
Where did you get the copper sheet??
www.allfoils.com or here basiccopper.com/thicknessguide.html.... I use the 5 mil (.005 inches thick) 36 gauge.
Charles LeGresley thank you! I was commissioned for a five foot piece and haven't been able to find a large piece anywhere!
Nice! At Basic Copper you can get them at 36 inch wide... Haven't ordered from them yet but I have from All foils years ago.
Charles LeGresley basic copper is good ive ordered feom them a few times
if you want
I do this for wall art and I never thought of the beeswax; didn't mean to sound stupid :-)
