Just got done watching your video. Just wanted to let you know I enjoyed it very detail. I just received min in the mail last night. I will be getting mine connected this weekend thanks again good video
pertronix manual says only plug their distributors into their digital hp black ignition box. ok just to attach like stock setup to the coil? want to get an hp box but have to wait a month or so. got the vehicle with just pertronix distributor and flamethrower coil... and it runs.
The box will allow you to program things like launch control and rev limitor. Also I called Petronix and it is possible to program nitrous to activate at certain rpm. Which I will be doing a video on once I have the Nitrous Express kit installed. Thanks for subscribing.
Great Video! Did you have to change the programming for the "TRIGGER / MULTI-SPARK / POWER SELECTION - Mode 9" to a Magnetic Trigger? I'm not 100% sure if my distributor is a magnetic or standard electronic ignition. My distributor has 3 wires, and I have tried wiring it with the violet and green wires, and then with white and red wires, and neither are working. I'm not getting any diagnostic codes. However, when I do program the box to a magnetic trigger, the green Run light never comes on when I put the key in, only the red power. I'm not sure where I am going wrong. Again thanks for the video it's been a great help so far! If you have any tips for my situation I would love to hear them!
I had to think about this one. No I did not since I have a Sbc. I believe I would have had to if I was running a crank trigger, but instead I use a distributor. When I install the nitrous kit, I will take a moment and go over how the Petro ix works because that will be activating the nitrous off the rpm signal for the tach.
@@johnsluyter7432 yeah this had me stumped for a few days. I know for a fact that my distributor has a magnetic pickup... but I think that all new-style distributors are "magnetic" including the Pertronix distributors, yet in the instructions they all have different installation protocols. Anyways...I wired mine to the red and white wire from the Pertronix box, not the violet and green wires, and it fired right up. For mode 9, I used setting 5.
I don't see why not, but if you are looking to adjust the boost and timing then look elsewhere. But if you want to set it and forget it, have a launch control, burn out rev limit or and fatal rev monitor this will work for that.

Eventually I will be wiring in the box to also activate nitrous if that perks your interest.

I'm having the same issue.

Is this an option for small block turbo aplications??
