  • A Quiet Place Day One 2024 Movie Review
A Quiet Place: Day One is a 2024 American apocalyptic horror film written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, based on a story he conceived with John Krasinski. It is the third installment in the A Quiet Place film series, serving as a spin-off prequel to the first film. The film stars Lupita Nyong'o, Joseph Quinn, and Alex Wolff, with Djimon Hounsou reprising his role from A Quiet Place Part II (2020). Its plot follows a terminally ill woman during the early stages of an invasion in New York City by blind extraterrestrial creatures with an acute sense of hearing.
Development on A Quiet Place: Day One began in November 2020, with Jeff Nichols set to write and direct. By May 2021, Nichols' script had been completed, but in October 2021, he was dropped from the film due to creative differences. In January 2022, Sarnoski was announced to replace Nichols as writer and director; he was approached by Krasinski because of his indie feature directorial debut, Pig (2021). Principal photography took place from February 2023 to April 2023 in London, England.
A Quiet Place: Day One premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 26, 2024, and is scheduled to be released in the United States by Paramount Pictures on June 28, 2024. The film received positive reviews from critics.

You missed the point of the movie. The emotional connection, the fact that Sam was gonna die very soon, she didn’t fear death and got to go home and die on her own terms. Also the fact that Eric got on the boat with the people who live on the island in Quiet Place 2 … helps connect to quiet place 3. He will probably help the deaf girl get back to her mother. There were tidbits about why the monsters kill humans, but Paramount Studios took it out of the original cut. Not for nothing but if your gonna review movies pay attention to things like characters name, she was called Sam in movie short for Sameria.

I got the point of the movie. I’m saying that the character didn’t make a lasting impression on me… thus me forgetting the name

I guess it depends on, like you said, expectations and whether you prefer substance or spectacle. Personally, I always prefer substance and character-driven films. I thought QP: Part II had a perfect blend of substance and spectacle, which is why it’s my favorite of the trilogy. With this one set in NYC, you might expect it to be more action-driven, but it was quite the opposite. This worked for me because it focused on strangers rather than a family protecting each other, highlighting the more humane aspects of the post-apocalyptic world. This was a different direction for the franchise, but it might not be the kind of difference most people wanted. For me this movie is a 4.5/5

I honestly don’t understand why every single person talks so much praise about so my mediocre films. Completely agree with you

I really think that some people are afraid of rocking the boat. I know because I hate to admit it, but I was like this at one point. In the end, all I can do is describe what I thought of the movie and how I felt about the movie. People are going to react they way they want, and it’s completely out of my control

I didn’t really like it. I could elaborate more but, it would be a story book as to why lol. Positives shot well, visually good and when there’s action I liked it. The mvp though is the cat. Even had a stunt double. 😂

Hey Brandon, my next film I am seeing in theatres on July 12th is Despicable Me 4 (2024) because I have seen the other films in the franchise including Minions (2015) and Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022).

Did you check out The Exorcism? It was so bad. It would make Madame Web meets Bad Boys: Ride Or Die but more Russell Crowe cringe-inducing scenes.
