  • Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman sits down with Hoda Kotb to talk about turmoil within USA Gymnastics in the aftermath of the sexual abuse scandal surrounding former team doctor Larry Nassar. “Most important thing is a full, independent investigation,” she says. “If you are not transparent, you cannot learn from your mistakes.”

I really think Aly should be given an official spot at USA Gymnastics, whether it be as a safety advocate or on the board, she needs to be there. This may be awkward now while she is suing them but in a few years time this should definitely happen.

    • @MsLGWB

There should be multiple high level athletes on any board. Same with any sport. Amy would be a great addition. And no nepotism. No Nastia on the board as long as her dad is the Olympic coach.

      Okay, I know I'm a year late.
I wouldn't say she is " well spoken" so sounds like a dumb high school student who is reciting an article she saw on her phone from memory. She is trying too hard to SOUND well spoken, but unfortunately she just doesn't. She is a bimbo, while I agree with her stance, or the fact there should have been an investigation done a very long time ago. Maybe not an "independent investigation" but a fully legal and law enforcement backed investigation. I feel like she only understands 20% of what she is actually saying in this situation. Yeah, good for her though, she is really giving you women a great namesake ...

Aly would be perfect on their Board, on the search committee, or in a leadership position in USAG, but sadly that will not be an option for her because she is still in litigation with USAG. There is a reason why they are not communicating with her, because she is still in litigation with USAG.

I've heard interview, after interview (maybe not this one) of TV hosts ask if she's been in contact with her and she says no. All I am saying, there is a reason why, because she is suing them... rightly so. She also, very smoothly, never responded to the host asking if she would be interested in being on the board or working in a leadership capacity... I'm impressed with her media training! The host didn't even realize she avoided the question.

Go Aly! It’s 2 years later now, olympics are on in Japan Simone Biles has just resigned. Aly, what’s going on? DOES SIMONE BILES KNOW SOMETHING WE DONT KNOW?? She is acting out of character it seems. Yes, she’s under pressure, mental health etc. But maybe the ghastly situation she is in, being blocked and manipulated by the old cronies and more. It’s so weird- low score, didn’t finish her performance completely etc…. I think there may well be coverup (linked in with the me - too movement). It that’s the case, does anyone have an idea how or who could investigate this issue?

Because there are more important things than winning. Hundreds of girls have been abused, and it will happen again if no one demands change. Probably not at the level of Nassar, but even one incident of abuse is too much. I don't agree with your comments, but I do agree with the what you are trying to say. She's demanding a thorough investigation----what would you call what they've already done and are still doing? Also, it's hard to take her so seriously after she has participated in 2 nude photo shoots. I lost a lot of respect for her when she did that .

Solomon Garcia stay relevant? She doesn’t need to stay relevant. She’s literally the main person pushing for actual change
