dandara da silva braz da cunha Look up at 5:02 . Remember that its not only in the elite training that thiz happens. Why put medals into it? VICTIMS ARE AFRAID OF EXPLAINING THE ABUSE. Because people like YOU will shame them. Many times victims hide it because they feel like they did something worng and its their fault that happend.

Some of Nassars "Treatments" happened at the former training center for the Olympic team. The Karoylis had to know as well. It takes more bravery to speak out than any of us, sitting on the computer, can imagine.

So many survivors think abut the families of the abusers, that they don't want to ruin them, don't want to damage their wives and children. That kind of nobility, that kind of consideration is really heartbreaking. In the mist of all that pain, they still think about the families of this monsters.

My best friend went to him for back and hip problems and he abused her as well. It is SO sad HOW many girls he has affected. HUNDREDS of young girls have come forward and said that he has abused them. Watching my best friend go through this and his court case, I can’t help but think of the other hundreds of girls going through the same thing. He has ruined so many lives for no reason other than pure evil.

I'm sure he probably was inappropriate, but at the same time, "internal therapy" is actually a legitimate treatment for some types of hip and back pain (when it's due to muscle or nerve issues). They do a sort of deep tissue on the pelvic floor and hip muscles that can only be reached internally. I've had internal therapy for over 3 years (by female therapists). I really hope the good therapists who do this treatment won't be afraid to offer this helpful treatment in the future because one guy apparently used it unnecessarily.

It's still mind-boggling to me that in this day and age that more of these girls wouldn't realize what he was doing was inappropriate. Teach your girls to trust their instincts and speak up! What a culture of fear that must've been. Smh.

    • @natknight4639
      @natknight4639 3 года назад +4

It is important to teach young kids and teens that, however at least some of them did speak up and told their parents that he was being inappropriate, but nothing was done about it. Sometimes parents were in the room while Nassar abused the girls under a towel, so some of the parents just assumed nothing happened because they were there not paying attention.

These child molesters always have someone covering for them ... the wife, usually. It's a shameful topic, so that makes it difficult for the victim to seek help, plus the molester makes the victim feel responsible. An attorney at the Children's Courthouse told me that there are "target ages" ... infant, age 5, age 10-11, and age 14.

    • @s9738919e

Aleesha, 10-11 is just barely pre-pubescent, at least for most girls, whereas 14 is clearly pubescent. That's why there is a gap in the "target ages" that doesn't include 12.

Do not let your kids be alone with a doctor, just bc they are a doc doesn't mean they can't do something like this. I had a bad experience w a doc at 13, being alone in the room w him he was very inappropriate and unprofessional. Always be in the room w your child. If they don't let you, that's a warning sign to get out. ( Also this quack told me I needed surgery right away at 13 yrs old, turns out there was nothing wrong) That doc was a psycho and a perv.

A child sexual predator , a false doctor who used his profession and position only for molesting children and get his pervert sexual gratification? He did this to a large number of little girls that now have to deal with nightmares and personal psychological problems for the rest of their lives? What if he did it to your daughter? Would you say it is a bit extreme 60 yrs in prison? I have a daughter and honestly if he did it to her I would think to give justice to this POS with my own hands.

Putting someone in jail for 60 years (it's actually now 175 years that his sentenced has been stretched to) is unequal. Larry sexual ly molested little girls, he didn't take 60 years of their lives away from them. Ultimately a good punishment would be to have someone sexual ly molest him about 150 times cause that's how many victims there were

Although USAG says they didn't know of the abuse until 2015, that's not true. Things were said before, but USAG had a culture of denial about all kinds of issues. They fostered a culture that made girls afraid to speak out about many things - physical trauma and exhaustion in their grueling training sessions, body shaming that made many develop eating disorders, emotional abuse, etc. The Karolys and many coaches were terrible to these girls. And if anyone questioned anything they were shamed and threatened to be kicked off the team. That all led to an environment in which Nasser could get away with stuff due to the control and power USAG held over the girls and the culture of fear that was created. I recommend the book "Start by Believing" by John Barr and Dan Murphy. Its a thorough account of all of this history. Fascinating. I'm a mom of a gymnast in USAG and I found this book enlightening and helpful! Hopefully things are changing. @t

I don’t like how the lady interviewing just cut her off and disregarded her message at the end. Seemed like what she had to say wasn’t important, she just wanted to know about the 2020 olympics.

First of all do not call him a "doctor" how can a doctor do that to teenager girl as a trainer......he is not at all a doctor.......Aly you are great sportsman and you have shown a sportsman spirit here and not let him go by any means so this world will realize how bad and worst it is to abuse sexually a girl at an age where she does not know all this and just seeing this world as a kid.........Keep your sports and gymanstics continue and not at all take that sexual assault to your brain so that you may get mentally sick .......enjoy your life and your a great champion and gold medalist........We stand up for CHAMPIONS.........

The tone of this interviewer makes zero sense to me. "Congrats" ??? "I was abused." "Congrats." Unreal.
Abuse victims of the world I send you the power to blast through ridicule and the incessant downplaying of the severity of sexual abuse. Predators Are monsters and deserve to be obliterated and I don't know Why it is easier for people to blame victims, especially children, than to step up and call them out and demand justice??

It's a shame that people honestly believe that lying on public television as well as in a court of law takes "guts", especially when it means an innocent man becomes the REAL victim. I pray for his family that this girl will come clean so that she can serve that sentence in his place.

Ali's credibility can not be questioned along with many others. Also the Olympic committee needs to be held accountable in a severe way. No exam or so called treatment should never be done without a female nurse present period!!! The Olympic gymnastics turned a blind eye to what was going on for some 30 years? These people need to be hung, fined heavily and jailed. Ali is right, these are monsters!!

I wonder why she didn't speak out earlier . . . . because she was young and he was an older man in a position of power? Because staff did not protect team members from inappropriate behavior? Because she thought she might be called a liar and thrown off the team?

I also wondered this. I feel like the Karolyis/USA Gymnastics created an environment of control and fear and really manipulated and brainwashed these girls.

All of this stuff is public record if you look into it. They honestly thought it was a normal medical procedure. Those who recognized it as wrong told the adults around them who covered for him and said they were making it up. Some even told their parents who were convinced by him that it wasn't true.
