Ben, how well does the nxs long travel kit handle in dune whoops? I frequent the oregon dunes and we have a fair amount of whoops there, yxz has the wellar racing KOH shocks.
Ben, I am installing an NXS long travel kit on my 19 yxz and have a question about the tie rod installation using the stock rack. After watching all your videos I didn’t see anything that shows that except for a little bit on your Weller rack install video. So my question is will the instructions that come with the Weller rack be helpful for what I am doing? I have no torque specs or any other instructions for reinstalling the boot or any other helpful hints that may help. Thanks in advance, sincerely, Mike Master.
Are you using the titanium tie rods that come with the NXS Designs kit? If so, reach out to Matt Ling with NXS Designs for his input. I assume OEM torque specs will be fine, use the Yamaha service manual. The boots will need to be trimmed a bit to slip over the inner threaded shaft. I'll be happy to send you a photo of my OEM rack with the NXS titanium rods installed in my old YXZ. Also I can send you a photo of the service manual pages if you need it. Please email me if you are interested ben at the-soundwave dot com.
they are very similar. the biggest difference is that the NXS Designs kit extends the wheelbase 2” forward and 4” back. the Fireball kit only extends the wheelbase 4” back.
In my opinion the YXZ needs all new suspension for sand or desert riding. The OEM width and travel cannot keep up with any of the high end sport UTVs on the market today.
@@bendavis35 absolutely agree, the suspension is just not there in stock form. I love the immersive driving experience enough that I deal with the subpar suspension. Yamaha could do so much better with this car.
@@michaeldavison430 yes absolutely. Anytime you change your suspension geometry (long travel) the shocks must be revalved and resprung to match your setup. All my YXZs have had Weller Racing shock work.

Like how you talk job through. Thank you for showing beginning to end of job!
Great video! Are you going to post a video for the rear install?
Yes it is coming soon, I had to wait on some parts.

Is the NXS and Fireball the same kit? Couldn’t find much on it. Thanks

Really curious how different a YXZ feels with suspension mods.

@@michaeldavison430 build it. The YXZ can hang with any of them with good Long travel and great shock setup.
@@bendavis35 do you think a revalve like Weller offers is worth it?
