Good morning Sally. Thank you for this very informative video. I live in a city with about 35,000 people. There are many tent cities here. Much of the homeless population is not from my state of Maine. Housing here is very bad and has been for many years. Next month we will be having 150 migrants coming here to Bangor with Winter nearby. I watch a lot of livestreams from Toronto. You are the only person I have seen that would cover this. Should you ever decide to do livestreams and become monetized please let me know. I want to be your first channel member. If it’s ok with you I would love to share your videos on my Facebook page and Twitter page? I hope you are having a great day. Thank you again so much.
Hi Sally. Thanks for bringing the homeless encampment to attention. Sadly it seems to be getting worse. Many tents here in my city too. Thanks for talking about the terrible situation.
Our society is not fair. Is catered only to the rich not the unfortunate. Everything is so expensive taxes are overblown and the government stopped taking care of the people. Amazing video Sally.
Sorry to say but this is just the blueprint from California. This is almost every city in the states now and is not going to stop. With the holes in the border and all the people pouring in this will just keep growing. We left then city only to find the forests and deserts just as trashed. The middle class will get wiped out soon. Adding people to the population is like printing dollars...it devalues the middle class down to poverty levels. I am unhoused but I live in my van. Im on the other side of the "not in my neighborhood". There's no point in pointing the finger at the useless government for a solution. The problem starts with broken families. Keep your family bonds tight and no one will have to live like this.
That's a great point Chico. Needless to say that most of us are one tragedy away from ending up in a tent. Just sick of the government talking heads sayin' their gonna do something with our money and here we are. Same sh$t different day.
@@onceuponacity Most are one paycheck from a tent and aren't thinking. I got a van in 2021 (just in case) and moved into it in 2022 because I looked at the money coming in vs going out and I was down to months. When I was reduced to putting groceries on a credit card I knew it was time to make a change.
To house the unhoused that is the question, Good morning Sally thanks for your report on this dire condition of folks which warants compassionate attention from important ones and all. I am in Toronto and getting things settled. hope to meet up.
You are an asset to your city. Showing this situation shows how much you care about the disadvantaged. As one of your other viewers said. I hope that your channel will be able to have memberships. I would be proud to be a member of your channel!
Totally agree with you. O.K good that the city is providing security for the less fortunate but really it is an embarrassing sticking plaster an indictment and really an admission of failure. People are priced out of the market due to the price of accomodation losing touch with reality.Nicely portrayed.
This is quite shocking. I noticed this has increase the last few years in the UK. Even though it has been documented in London for decades i noticed it has increased in the towns all around the uk. What is shocking is it is not the case of building more housing. It is the case of a lot of empty buildings that the rent is expensive. I just feel homelessness has effected around the world. As for your filmmaking great work documenting what you see.
Sorry but I would be more afraid of living in a tent than 'fear mongering' podcasters and i'm quite confident they would rather be properly housed. True without a good supportive family/friends, savings or job we are at risk of being their too.
hmm, I thought these people have rooms in shelters, don't they? the thing is that they just don't want to live there because of certain rules one should follow living in a shelter for example 1) you can't take drugs 2) there is a schedule, you should be home till 9pm otherwise doors are closed and etc. I thought these people live in tents because they don't want to follow the rules, which is their choice. but in winter there are no tents? Where do they live? Do they return back to shelter? so they HAVE a place to live?
The shelter system is a hot mess. Some choose to sleep outside, for a litany of reasons, their choice I guess. But some are forced to. Families and children generally find a spot in a shelter or hotel but single men and women must wait till a bed is available in the shelters. Sad.
Go and talk to some of the people living there. You can't call them drug addicts and where do we stick those people without a follow up. You sound like someone living in the condos.
I am so far down the totem pole of owning a condo. No matter. Some are addicted to drugs. Some do have mental illness. Not gonna dispute those facts with you. Don't believe I blanketed the entire encapmentment with a bad spin. The unhoused is a massive f'ning problem in the city and regardless of the reasons, I don't believe folks CHOOSE poverty. Poverty is not a choice. Everyone deserves to be housed. Think I said that in the video. Thank you for your thoughts @frankmitc

Good morning Dave and thank you for supporting my channel and many others. It is a terrible situation everywhere. I hope you have a peaceful day Dave.
Cool encouraging more awareness to issues
It's a sad state in these encapments Toto. Appreciate you watching @totoroutes5389
Thanks for sharing Sally. Definitely an unfortunate situation overall with the homeless situation in Toronto.
Good morning Modano. Sad situation.
This is happening everywhere around the world ... and it's by design ...
Something to ponder.

Great video, Sally!! Keep it up 😊
Thank you and I hope that the situation improves for those who are unhoused (so that this story does not have to be told).

Welcome back to Toronto Patrick. Post in your community post a place you want to check out and maybe we could do collab for our channels.

Definetly agree that unaffordability is the #1 contibuting factor to the rise in homelessness @ninifilms. Much appreciate your thoughts.
They just got rid of almost all the tents in Allan gardens.
I haven't been their in a few months, thank you for letting us know.
Lots of people are not far [one or two pay checks] from living here. The homeless should be afraid of fear mongering pod-casters.
