I remember going to the theater to see D&D 1. God awful. Horrible plot. Acting etc. Jeremy Irons acting is hilarious though. He is so over the top so much so I think he forgot he was acting or just having fun.
I remember this movie as being far worse, than when I just watched it yesterday. I don’t know if it is just nostalgia talking but it wasn’t as annoying to me as it was back then. Yes, Marlon Wayans was an annoying, comic relief character, but when he knew he was likely going to die he put on a brave face and fought anyway. Jeremy Irons was over acting, mostly with his voice, almost like he was trying to sound like Jack Palance in Hawk the Slayer. But when he spoke calmly and eloquently he actually sounded more sinister. He should have stuck with that. I thought for the most part the acting wasn’t as bad as I had remembered. There isn’t much out there in the way of S&S movies to compare it too, where those were much better. S&S movies tend to be very campy, loaded with cliches, and generally funny-bad.
