You can't change the settings if the remote is not working. That's for sure.
Yet, I noticed that the normal tv remote worked in moving through the chromecast settings. So I went and "forgot" the remove, repaired it and it worked after that.

It seems like my control goes to sleep and cant wake up again. Then I use Google Home App remote for a a few seconds and it berings the remote back. This must be a software issue or maybe hardware. Eitehr way all solutions didnt work for me. Has to be returned to Amazon now.

This is just common sense if you’re able to use your remote obviously you would go into the settings and repair it ..
the problem is if the remote is completely not working even when you change your battery none of the buttons work , so you can’t even navigate through the actual device even when you factory reset

We have a different issue. Periodically the Chromecast will just lock up and refuse to accept any input from the remotes (we have two, his and hers). TV will continue to play what was on, but not accept button input. Have to pull the power cord to the Chromecast to make it reboot. Seems like a poorly engineered, unreliable product, though I like it when it works.
Mine keeps disconnecting from the wifu so now I can't even remove remote or pair it with anything else 😪

Janbuls bro, Remove the Google Chromecast from Power Also Change ge the Battery of the remote. Then connect the chromecast to power and try using the remote. It can fix the issue.😊

@@Fix.369 I tried but without result, i think it’s more like a tv problem or something to do with the sound settings or I don’t know, I have a sharp tv and I’ve seen people struggle with the same problem, The remote is perfectly working and the only problem is that I can’t control the tv with only one remote (turn it off/on and adjust the volume) I had a firetvstick from Amazon and it worked perfectly fine I could turn the tv off and on with only one remote until I decided to change to chromecast and I regret it now.

Such a stupid method. Use your non working remote to navigate the settings yeah that's gonna work for sure.
If your remote is stuck on blinking (pairing). Just pair it with your phone and then unpair it from your phone right after. Go to your Chromecast and press the pairing button then go to your remote and press home and back for 3 seconds. The Chromecast will automatically find your remote again.
