to all the people that criticizes this person he honestly has the best demo on this site he actually goes all over the guitar not one area and he goes through the settings and he dose not talk for half the video so shove it!!!!
@kennykiloz no - kirk uses a seperate wah that he controls, just watch him play any solo with wah in it (anything from black album onwards basically) - he always goes over to the wah to control it
damn thats a tough question, i would have to say the maxon AF-9, it sounds awsome, I also like the dunlop rotovibe pedal, which might not count as a funk pedal but to me it does count, as well as the fulltone dejavibe pedal, which is like the rotovibe
A digitech synth wah, it is a really cool pedal and you can get different types of tones from it, a maxon af-9 audio filter which is awsome but expensive, there are many types of funk pedals, it is all what you like and what sound you like for a funk pedal though
Personally in my set up I have both kind of wahs, this one and the "standard one". I use the dynamic in particular sections where the foot pression doesn't work as good as this one, such as in extremely fast or technical situations, that aren't shown here. Nice demo btw
@AvengedTimes naw man for that you need just a regular wah wah pedal, like a cry baby or a good one is the jimi hendrix like signature wah, sounds great
If you're looking extreme control over a wah, check out EHX Riddle. As far as getting a guitar to mimic any other instrument, including the human voice, have sounded very synthetic, but those attempt have left us with some pretty bitchen' fx. Example: Talkbox, Ya-Ya effect on Digitech's RP models, EHX 's V256, and Voice Box. I can't wait to hear what they come up with next.
F#9. Chord formula is 1 3 5 b7 9. I like this position for a 9 chord because it has the major third within the chord and the high 5th can be used or not used easily. Low 5th to actually.
its cool man everyone was new to guitar at some point. yeah you can chuck it an expression pedal to use like a crybaby or various other expression pedal driven wah's such as the bad horsie
no, an envelope filter is an autowah and a wah pedal is a wah pedal. two different pedals that i cant imagine sounding good when used together but who knows.
its not the same as a wah its an envelope filter, which sounds much different. i dont know why they even call it a wah. its not useless it just has a different use than what youre looking for.
I've been using auto filters since the 70's and I own(ed) a bunch of them. The AW-3 is o.k. when it comes to auto filters. It won't spank your ass like an AF-9 or AF-201. HOWEVER, I do like it's flexibility ! It can go into auto wah mode with a tap tempo feature. Vowels can be produced by the humanizer function. Or it can be used as an old fashioned auto filter. The AW-3 can't stand up to my other filters, but it's a fun box. I like mine.
+Raigeki If you're talking about the mic placement being dead center, then I want to let you know that on those Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amps, the one he has mic, the speaker is off center. It looks like he has the mic in the middle, but the speaker inside is more toward your right hand looking at it in the video.
I wanna see the expression pedal plugged in and rocked on. It sounds like my keyboard at the moment. Yeah like a sampled git. and yeah that's pretty much it. Plug in the pedal and demo again dude. Then we can see how much of the player goes into the sound.
my honest opinion? just get a regular old fashioned wah pedal you have to rock back an forth on your own. that is a good sound, but the having to move your foot is better. you actually need to have a sense of rhythm to use one.
Definitely is not an organic sound, I've got this one, an a Cry Baby and I use the AW3 for specific sounds not to replace mi old Cry Baby wich I step on it for soloing an more articulated stuff, but the AW3 its a great pedal if you need some sinth a like sounds, not to replace a real wah pedal
I don´t like Wahs with moving parts. I prefer my Boss Dynamic Wah. It´s better than other Wahs on the market because is not ONE single input, actually is 2 wahs in one. In order to get that wide open vocal throaty fx out from it I always plug my Strat on the BASS input to get that lower frequencies and avoid unwanted bright ones, keep them out of the picture. I´m on the quest to find another Wah but IK Multimedia gave 3 Wahs on Amplitube 3 so I´m spoiled with Wahs. Now I have the best of both worlds :Soft and Hard .
Can you use this for high gain soloing? ... there are boss patches on some units called “Wah Lead”; are picking/ touch sensitive (defined by setting polarity, sensitivity, frequency, & peak), is that what this is?
If you're playing rythm, I wouldn't use it. It totally destroys the percussive effect the ryhtmguitar should have. On the other hand, if you're playing lead, it will be great! Check out the live version of The Wailers' I Shot The Sherrif. It's all envelope filter/auto wah/dynamic wah!
its an ok pedal but i prefer the sound of manual wah this is good if u like to move during playing but u can realy capture a wide range of sound with a maunual wah and dont bitch me out for stating my opion im just sayi i would much rather invest my money in a good old fasion crybaby the orginal the best
THIS IS A GREAT DEMO. THANK YOU JASON. U REALLY TOOK IT APART FOR ME. NICE GUITAR SETUP ALSO.
to all the people that criticizes this person he honestly has the best demo on this site he actually goes all over the guitar not one area and he goes through the settings and he dose not talk for half the video so shove it!!!!
Yea, my friend has one for his bass, and after hearing him with it, i must now get one for mine.
Damn....that's a nice plant.
Hi! This is Jason Spencer, with World Music Supply...
@kennykiloz no - kirk uses a seperate wah that he controls, just watch him play any solo with wah in it (anything from black album onwards basically) - he always goes over to the wah to control it
yes i'm aware of that but they both sound really cool so i need some opinions on which one to get
@darkeagle320 auto wahs serve an entirely different purpose than wah pedals.
hi i need some help im on a 500 dollar budget for my bday what pedals should i get they can be multi effects please respond
i actually really like this pedal, i cant choose between this one or the metal zone MT2 though, any opinions would be nice
Good demo.
Love my BOSS AW-3 from Adawliah Al-Khobar Saudi Arabia
What's the very first chord he plays?
I think is a bit like the filter wah envelope from digitech. Love those pedals
What about for soloing?
In the Humanizer mode, decay sets the interval between the 2 vowels, from instantly to a second or two interval...
Yes! He made a mistake and said it didn't do anything.
this thing colors your tone like no other.
damn thats a tough question, i would have to say the maxon AF-9, it sounds awsome, I also like the dunlop rotovibe pedal, which might not count as a funk pedal but to me it does count, as well as the fulltone dejavibe pedal, which is like the rotovibe

You can hook up the foot pedal to the dynamic wah.
this is a stupid question but. how do ppl get the input cable like tht?
HOw did thaty guy get this job, I wish I could play with pedals all day.
Personally in my set up I have both kind of wahs, this one and the "standard one". I use the dynamic in particular sections where the foot pression doesn't work as good as this one, such as in extremely fast or technical situations, that aren't shown here. Nice demo btw
Thanks for the demo. Where in the signal chain do you put this pedal?
Is this pedal any good for reggae?
can't you plug a foot controller into that thing?
This pedal gets to be very trebly with the wah in effect. Did others notice this?
@AvengedTimes naw man for that you need just a regular wah wah pedal, like a cry baby or a good one is the jimi hendrix like signature wah, sounds great
hmmm i dont think this be great for playing enter sandman solo right?
If you can't really get a good distortion from your amp than get the MT2, but if you can, the just get the Aw-3
If you're looking extreme control over a wah, check out EHX Riddle.

CAN SOME ONE PLEASE TELL ME THE CHORD HE DOES AT 1:12 I see it all the time but i dont know the numbers and fingers
F#9. Chord formula is 1 3 5 b7 9. I like this position for a 9 chord because it has the major third within the chord and the high 5th can be used or not used easily. Low 5th to actually.
I love the sound of a wahwah pedal
Wait, you can plug in a expression pedal to this and use it like a crybaby?
Sorry if i sound like a noob.
Yeah
its cool man
everyone was new to guitar at some point.
yeah you can chuck it an expression pedal to use like a crybaby or various other expression pedal driven wah's such as the bad horsie
i love how at 1:45 he's like
move them to get a different effect...and it sounds exactly the same.
no, an envelope filter is an autowah and a wah pedal is a wah pedal. two different pedals that i cant imagine sounding good when used together but who knows.
This guy has some sweet funk sounds there, he should post a video on RUclips with a 5 minute funk style play like he's doing here...
I tried this pedal in a shop a few days ago...but I didn't like it, I prefer the cry baby or the Morley wah
Thanks a lot!
you can get an expression pedal though.
its not the same as a wah its an envelope filter, which sounds much different. i dont know why they even call it a wah. its not useless it just has a different use than what youre looking for.
nice demo, thanks. (you just sold this item, good work)
Boss Me-50!!! Its about $300,but you can buy it a lot cheaper($150-$200) on Ebay.
doesnt look like a bad pedal, but i would prefer the control of a wah pedal with the foot rocker
@ 4:26 it might be that setting!
i have a crybaby, but it's pretty hard to "wah" it on every note. i like the boss one two . the crybaby is cool too
by foot pedal he meant like a real wah that you control not something you can only click on and off
This guy can shred.

holy crap!
BOSS DD-7 Digital Delay :]
BOSS CH-1 Super Chorus :]
no... it sounds different, of course.
but it sounds like it sounds. it's a matter of taste
this is pretty good if you would have to go far away from your pedal board and do an exhibition.... ryt?
it's also a different sound than a wah
Sorry for lasy comment. I thought it was serach field :) BTW great video.
Sorry for being so nitpicky, but that is not how you mic an amp.
So what... he can't play so that doesn't matter
that's needlessly rude man
The truth is not rude...
That's not true. You can say something true and be rude about it at the same time.
@electricguitar he is as exciting as an old hat
they're both so different...
@elchupirichups oh thanks dude :D
look at all those pedals just sittin there i bet he gets every pedal he tests
I wanna see the expression pedal plugged in and rocked on. It sounds like my keyboard at the moment. Yeah like a sampled git. and yeah that's pretty much it.

I agree:P
Hi Im jason spencer and for some reason I got this job to promote shit I dont know how to use
Plus I play a sphinxter
Hey Jason a sphinxter says what?
A great pedal but I prefer a manually operated wah pedal like a Crybaby wah
Definitely is not an organic sound, I've got this one, an a Cry Baby and I use the AW3 for specific sounds not to replace mi old Cry Baby wich I step on it for soloing an more articulated stuff, but the AW3 its a great pedal if you need some sinth a like sounds, not to replace a real wah pedal

Artificial sound
if only it does fixed wah as well... then it be wahnderfull
If you're playing rythm, I wouldn't use it. It totally destroys the percussive effect the ryhtmguitar should have. On the other hand, if you're playing lead, it will be great! Check out the live version of The Wailers' I Shot The Sherrif. It's all envelope filter/auto wah/dynamic wah!
that would be cool but, if bush had a guitar he would only play "waaaaaaar" all the time
its an ok pedal but i prefer the sound of manual wah this is good if u like to move during playing but u can realy capture a wide range of sound with a maunual wah and dont bitch me out for stating my opion im just sayi i would much rather invest my money in a good old fasion crybaby the orginal the best
@electricguitar I always think tat ew nead moar inglish...but oh well.
Jeez...this is cool and all, but they mind as well rename it something like Porno Movie Driver PMD-1
Mt2 boss
@ryanak xD lmao
yeah well thats why they are called SYNTH
No he doesn't
sounds pretty flat....fizzytoo
LOL
well a crybaby is 100$ and that is pretty much the same price :P
Stop the swallowing. We hear more your slurp and deglutition than the effects.
How boring is this guy? He's not playing music, hes just playing, it's awful.
regular crybaby wah pedals are the best! auto wah's are for people that do't really know how to use a real one.
no matter how many humanizer effect they put on their pedal it's not going to catch on
Ernie Ball is way better..
But that's just me .. :)
what a pointless pedal, just buy and learn to use a real wah for god sake
This has got to be boss's crappiest pedal
what a pointless juice ,just buy and learn to use a real juice for apple's sake
such a usless pedal, id just get a real wah pedal
i dnt like this pedal sucks
terrible demo!
boring review
