One of your best lectures. I think it also applies in the opposite direction: if my opponent plays strange moves that lose a little bit I shouldn't think I am "winning", but just that it is now and interesting game where I might have a tiny advantage. When I think "Ah, I should be so far ahead" it causes the same psychological problem if I then lose the game later because I think "That was MY game" and it wasn't.
Many years ago, me still being quite ambitious, but not very good, I spent a huge amount of time on studying joseki. Apart from seeing good shape and so on, I guess it was a waste of time. Getting a decent position that I liked proved to be far more important, so I really like the message of this lecture: thank you! And replaying KataGo games helped me a lot in this respect. Play solid openings giving you options on both territory and influence is just great, the Big Fight comes later.
