    Another issue is how the city is growing so fast that the infrastructure can't keep up, leading to a lot of traffic jams. Lack of public transport into many areas. But in general it's the best base to have as an entrepreneur these days. Low tax, digitized government infrastructure, safety and direct flights everywhere.

      Are the laborers even skilled? You see that a lot get trapped there having their passports stolen and getting paid less than they were promised. I can imagine work ethic goes way down too..

      @@alwaysyouramanda thats fake and false, maybe it happened in Qatar, but people confuse Qatar with Dubai, actually Dubai have better work conditions then Europe, but i dont know why people keeps lying on youtube, i started to think they are paid to do that

      @@dinofabrizzi2116 yuuuup !! by far better conditions dude :))) ! i've made even a research on the abuse of workers in Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukaraine, Moldova, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, and Yuuuuppp UAE is a Heaven for them, thats why they are immigrating to UAE, and yuuuup Britsh people are escaping that slavery of work culture in their country and avoiding the pressure and stress and coming to UAE, yuuuup wake up bro, or, as you wish

      You’re so brave. After learning about the laborers from other countries I couldn’t consider it. Id be too heartbroken contributing to their situations. Paying the people who exploit them is no different than exploiting them ourselves

      My wife is a doctor, actually she invited me to come to Dubai and i dont regret it ! if you are a doctor you will live the best days in your life, so many privileges here, and the country respects the status of doctors, also expect a very high paying job, my wife have 4 years in UAE working as doctor and we are already millionaires lol, she is making $220k per year, all tax free, and we come from a poor country so we already bought a big villa in our home country, and 3 apartments, and for some relatives we bough some cheap apartment to 3 of them, and now we are just enjoying Dubai, its like there is so many money that you dont know where to spend, and we are not the kind of persons that will buy gold and show off or something .
      so yeah, come you will make the decision of your life

    ... Dubai is very central.. with just a short flight, you can find yourself surrounded with nature, beaches, culture, etc....

    i agree with you 80|% i am from Saudi Arabia neighbor country to UAE and visit Dubai so many times its great and developed CITY and more liberals' than cities around it but i have my PROPLEMS LIST to living in Dubai
    1/humidity its unbelievable especially in summer
    2/no soul in city and no deep local culture actually you feel like living in UN and by theway the local living there only 5% of population
    3/ so expensive for no reason
    4/ many plastic people living there
    5/ housing rental really high
    6/DIFFICULT TO BUILD FRIEND REALATIONSHIP CAUSE PEPOLE COME AND GO

    The one big negative thing is that there is absolutely nothing to do except for shopping 🤷‍♂️ it’s just too hot, a roads with too much traffic and skyscrapers…nothing really interesting that you can’t get let’s say in Europe or Uk ….🤔

    I live here for 18 years and also I can say even in winter the air quality is very poor and unhealthy, it is very expensive city, not very friendly and easy when you have kids, massage centers and influences are everywhere make it difficult to live a normal life, I think you are new in the city but good luck

      Crime Free my ass XD .. I was born and raised in Dubai and I can tell you Dubai has many crimes, but the government cover up is insane. Crime is not daily .. but it's not crime "free"

    Great point of view Tuomas! One note - Please do Not use this shaking frame effect like in 2:34 . The whole frame shake, and vibrate and this is super disturbing - it is a defect instead of an effect.

    I just don't buy this at all. Maybe if you're already rich, Dubai is convenient. But there is no real opportunity in Dubai, not for normal people.
    Yes, Dubai is motivated to make the city attractive. Maybe they will chose to make the city more liberal, to meet that goal. Maybe they won't.
    Dubai also has another dual goal: do not disturb the rich ruling class. If there is a conflict between 'making the city attractive' to westerners, or _really_ threatening the power of the elite, this conflict will be resolved in favor the elite, 100% of the time. Foreign Nationals are very specifically made to be powerless, in Dubai, except as customers.

    in Europe and USA no freedom from robbery, stabbings, filthy roads and yet you have to pay lot of tax. UAE, Qatar, Kuwait also invites immigrants who are productive in their country rather than Europe and USA who will encourage illegal immigration and than blame others when we ask them why your countries are in mess.

      They all have incomparably large GDPs compared to UAE though and much higher innovation. I don't hear of any interesting science/technology/companies that started in Dubai. In the west is this is every single day.

    Bangkok beats Dubai any day. It's cheaper, greener, more trains and nicer looking. The weather in Bangkok is not ideal though as its very humid.

    biggest issues for me were: no gay bars, no gay scene at all (if it is there it is very discreet so you don’t know about it), gay dating apps are blocked, alcohol is not easily available, voip calls are blocked (vpn is necessary)
