  • Due to the deconstructed upper, these fit a half size big for me.
    The Story Behind the Shoes:
Conversation starters. Dope skate shoes. Designed by Indigenous creatives. Bridging sport, history and culture, the Nike SB Dunk Low x N7 celebrates Indigenous athletes through the joyful expression of skate.
Designed in partnership with individuals from the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and Ojibwe communities, every detail is purposefully crafted. Up top, vibrant and intricate embroidery reflects traditional motifs from the Great Lakes and Woodlands regions. "The Dunk was the perfect backdrop, letting us collaborate with Indigenous artists from these communities to highlight a graphic expression that culturally appreciates them," says footwear material designer Nico Verburgt (Ojibwe).
"Seeing our art and legacy come to life and carry on in a new way is exciting,” says fashion designer Rebekah Jarvey (Ojibwe/Chippewa). “Our art has been translated through different mediums and passed down for generations through the matriarchy. Helping with this design and seeing it highlight our culture for a new generation is incredibly special."
Flip 'em over. The maple wood print beneath the iced outsole honors the trees growing throughout these communities and their tie to skate. If you're dropping in, landing big tricks or just coasting, check your deck-it's likely fashioned from the durable maple wood that comes straight from the Great Lakes and Woodlands regions.
"When ideating for this collection, I really wanted to create something that reflects the beauty of Native culture through the individualistic lens of skate," says designer Michael French (Navajo/Dine). "The design is a conduit for bigger conversations: Pieces of Indigenous culture dipped in the freedom inherent within the skate community." From the embroidery and maple graphic to the deck you ride and the trees growing on Haudenosaunee and Ojibwe land, this Dunk doesn't just ask to be skated in. It says, "Tell the story." So, grab your board, ride over the coping and expand the conversation.
Nike is committed to elevating Indigenous communities in North America. Since 2022, we have invested $625,000 in grants annually, administered by CAFA, to nonprofits that support their access to sport, economic empowerment, education innovation and social justice. This investment continues the legacy of our support for Indigenous communities through the N7 Fund and other grants, totaling $10.9 million to 296 organizations since 2009.

How comfy are they, being a deconstructed SB dunk?

They're okay, nothing special. Just feels much lighter than the regular SB dunks. I never found SB Dunks to be that comfy anyways.

@@ekemal14 Good for you man, if you have the time and are able to commit to making videos, I'd say go for it!
Hardest thing about getting back on the board at 30 was finding the time to skate and the fear of getting hurt. I still find it hard finding time to skate due to work, family and other priorities. I've been out early in the morning just to skate or replace my workout time with skating. I personally have a lot going on in my life, life seems to get busier and busier since I hit 30... I really had to dig for time to skate especially cause my wife thinks skating is sort of a waste of time.
Falling and getting your shin and palms wrecked is unavoidable if you really commit to getting better at skating. I try to just look back at the times when I was younger where I never pushed myself at a certain point cause I was tired of getting banged up from the board. I've had a couple bad injuries since getting back on the board, but each time I would just suck it up, heal up and get right back to skating. It also takes much longer to heal up now, I was out for at least 3-6 months for couple of my injuries in the last few years. I was not going to let it stop me though, I genuinely want to get better at skating now... Not for anybody else, for myself.
As long as you're back on the board for a passion, you should be good to start your own channel. I'm really happy I started my channel cause it helped me fall in love with skating again. I can quit my channel now, but I'll still go on to skate.
I hope this helps, now grab that BAM board and start my friend!

Haha dang you noticed! I simply don't have the time to make these skate videos currently and the existing videos were leading the viewers on like I will continue to show my progression, which I am not able to at the moment so I took them down... Maybe I'll continue during the summer but life is hectic!
