I'm with you my man. I stayed up alot of weekends trying to beat this one but I was in my 20's when I finally accomplished what I couldn't for the biggest part of my childhood. I'm glad I wasn't the only one that wasted life in front of the TV...lol. Good times though bro and I would give anything to go back in the day when times were simply better. Memories are all anyone has when times are missed, to look back on and smile. Later bro and like I said...I feel you on that one 👌👍👋

For a guy that just held aloft his magic sword, turned into a blue dragon then suddenly got 3 heads and travelled back in time to kill giant turtles and flaming phoenix birds....he seems to have adapted pretty well.
Thumbs up if you are just watching to listen to the sound track than the gameplay

YES.. One of the best sound tracks to ever exist.. Stage 2 OST brings a tear to my eye to this day...
And oh the sorcerer transformation, That image is forever ingrained in my mind...
always thought the music in thid cart sounded better than any other cart available. even that start button sound at the beginning sounded awesome.

wow...the memories! talk about a great game with amazing music. Hell the transformation at the beginning puts you in the mood to rip it up and then it never lets up!
This game needs to be revisited. Please remake this game
Well there is a more of a polished version of this game in Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary. All the games there still keep their same 8-bit graphics but they look better and with the music that is the same, but sounds better. not sure if you can count it, but Dragon Spirit is awesome.

My sister and I had this game. I just realized that this is basically an early bullet hell game.
I so remember this game even though I'm 54 it was so hard it took me probably 30-35 times before I finally beat it it's a good game but it's very difficult but thank you and brings back memories keep sharing your videos

My dad bought me this game for my birthday/Christmas as a kid when it was on clearance or some such because he was too cheap to buy me one of the games I wanted. This video brings back so many memories of disappointment.

As a kid i found a couple secrets and game breaking glitches messing around wondering what happens if i go here or do this or entirely by accident.For this gem of a game i found out if you die during the first boss the scene that plays after victory still plays and instead of becoming a blue dragon, you become a golden dragon that that is more powerful.I cant remember much as it was long ago but that's the gem within the gem. owo) Enjoy my friends.
I remember doing the same thing. Eventually I always tried to beat the boss without getting hit. Accidentally this was a play style I picked up that served me well in Castlevania
Yeah! The gold dragon is like this game's easy mode. Interesting way that they did it, instead of selecting the difficulty from a menu, the game basically just sees how you do at the intro level and provides you with a difficulty level accordingly.
This is childhood nostalgia. Reminds me of gaming out at my grandmas and eating Chicago style pizza. Simple times my friends.

still one of my favorites of all time and just got to say amazing playthough god the music alone made this game golden not to mention everything else like multi-head, green dragon (the best one) as well as white and red and the boss battles and the only game i know where you have to shoot in both ski and ground lvls... this game needs a reboot leaving it as is (maybe adding some lvls) and updated graphics with a band that follows the sound track i would easily drop $30-40 for it. btw fav tracks are lvl 1 though 3 easy as well as the fight before last with the dragon heads from the hole.
my godmother bought me this game when i turned 7. sadly, i sold it to a local video store a handful of years later. great times

Jungle was my fav music. But i always wondered after u beat a boss the princess or who ever were greyed out. I guess it has to be a certain score to get or something.

Great soundtrack all around but Glacier Land was my fav, 2nd was Volcano. I can't remember how many times i played through this game. BTW; Fuuuuuuuck Cave Road and Dark Quarters... haaated those levels with every fiber of my being.

I always wondered why some of the princess/fairys were blurred out. My bud told me name a few nes games with a killer sound track. I told him this and he was like wtf are you talking about. I let him borrow it and he ordered his own copy after that. Damn im good lol.

Odd question, but for some reason I remember Glacer Land having Pteranodons and weird ray-type enemies that traveled from bottom to top of the screen at the beginning of the mission. Am I missing something?
There exist other verisions of the game. For arcade another system I cant recall. Perhapes it was one of those?

I've played this game many times, but I still don't know, what does it depend on, if there was a girl at the and of each level, or only her silhouette. Girl can heal you sometime, or give you some help, but silhouette - can't do that. And they speaking different words.
So what do you have to do to see the girl in color????

I never played this game before. What's up with the greyed out portraits between some of the levels? Is that normal? Also lol some of the bosses die so fast. I guess testing difficulty wasn't high on the priority list. Oh well. Better an easy game than a too hard one.
Besides, check the dates on those vids. That Dragon Spirit video is like the first game video in years. Lol. And learn to use the "Reply" feature, it's useful when you're replying to specific posts. ;)

You're missing the purpose of longplays. They aren't meant to be competitive bragging contests, they're just meant to showcase games in their entirety (which this longplay does).
You can watch the video on my channel if you want to see proof. Concerning my age, let's just say I got this game brand new in 1990 and have roughly 23 years experience with it. :) So I'm probably a bit older than you, and for that matter, way too old to engage in some juvenile "better than you" contest. I just wanted to show you that if it had been my purpose, I could have gotten a much higher score, and so I did.
