What can be better than Metalcore & memes?
Metalcore and dank memes
Metal.
Metal is better.
Water
Nik Nocturnal Memecore?
Nintendocore
"5-7-8 pattern" is my jam
Same here Ryan
Nik Nocturnal I love using it
i pretty much use a 5-7-8 pattern no matter what genre of music im playing XD
Same here bruh
As i lay dying
5-7-8 pattern lolol
Forgot the 3-5-7 pattern and the 1-3-5-8 one.
Then you got every metalcore song ever written.
^^^
Metalcore: Teaching the masses how arpeggios work since 1990-something.
You forgot the 0-8-5 pattern of most early august burns red songs
What is the 5-7-8 pattern exactly?
@@Bitchfinder_General 5-7-8 is where most metalcore songs especially from 2008-2012 were written it's the root note positions used for riffs
Oh Yeah, the 5-7-8! Basically As I lay Dying's whole career is built on that lovely pattern
^^^^ this
As I lay dying. Some war of ages. Destroy the runner lol
God if they ain’t fucking wonderful with it though
And The Crimson Armada also. Lol I love them but basically that's all their songs are
I always called that 0 8 10
Niiiiiiiiiiiik can you give me a water bottle for christmas
Anal cream please I took a heavy shit today
All I wanted was siracha sauce and some white bread.
@@penelopesmith345 I still got 10 g's of sriracha I can hook you up fam. I'm outta bread tho, new batch coming next week
FuMu much love bro
Bro how is that picking technique comfortable, cramps my hand watching it xD
The 5-7-8 pattern: Caliban
Do what I'm doing but like... higher: Asking Alexandria
Dude, I told you I can play lead: Miss May I
The "but higher" one was also old Avenged Sevenfold
All three,
As I Lay Dying do em. XD
Pretty much
I love Caliban lol
As Diminished Runs Black: Death core bands
Triplets: Any djent band
That octave lead was an attack I personally didn't need and I haven't even played metalcore in years
^^
i think that's usually used at choruses part
the 5-7-8 is probably also called the as i lay dying riff
Essentially
Or the As I lay dying totally ripping off At the Gates from 15 years earlier riff 🙄
Bro. Is it bad that every stereotype sounded Bomb asf?!?!?🤘🤘🤘 keep it up dude!
a ejaculating futa horse woah woah... no need for hate here.
a ejaculating futa horse an ejaculating futa* if you do a good quality username, do it well
@@aejaculatingfutahorse6058 wtf
I'm glad you liked them! I use a lot of these in my own music tbh.
Right! I love it all🎃
Titles are priceless because they are all true
:D
It seems like you're trying to make fun of metalcore but all of this sounds awesome and i'm just sitting here wanting more
Kinda, these are meant to make fun of the stereotypes but not in a "bad way". We all use a lot of these so it's just fun to point it out :)
@@NikNocturnal yeah i'm tracking. Love the work you do, keep it up
@@NikNocturnal I'm sick and tired of the same shit thoughhhhhh I want something new and fresh .
Couldn’t agree more
Edward Real new and fresh huh.....ooooooh I know, let’s do something really unique, instead of the 5-7-8, we can START on 8 and go 8-5-7!!! (I imagine that’s a writing session for asking Alexandria summed up)
This whole list brought me back to the mid to late 2000s and I absolutely loved it.
Glad you enjoyed it Toby! :D
Most used deathcore stereotypes!
Diminished runs black is deathcore
@@tripxez8478 im aware
That would probably be the one we'd do next :)
@@NikNocturnal Go ahead!
@@NikNocturnal yass
"Bro, just half time it" and "dude, I told you I can play lead" are 100% A Day To Remember.
That intro speech Andrew hahaha
memecore
Dahh
Ask Kmac
5-7-8 pattern with harmony is literally every metalcore song
I think all this stereotypes are what make metalcore great.. we need those stereotypes more!!!
^^^^
I love that that every single song I learned to play by Asking Alexandria contained every single one of these stereotypes 😂
;)
2:12 Lamb of God wants to know your location
0:28 Someone, Somewhere by Asking Alexandria
This reminds me of learning the first asking alexandria album
Nobody dont dance no more, i used to have a best friend, if you cant ride two horses, hey there mr Brooks, a candle lit dinner, the final episode. Those songs are life to learn on guitar for not too difficult but awesome to play. I could just say the whole album... But those are my top ones
@@NathanielBTM exactly :)
Pretty much
Bro the 5-7-8 run had me dying. I can’t stay away from it haha
The harmony riff. I wrote this 5-7-8 harmony riff and it sort of sounded like unholy confessions but it was fun to jam out with.
Honestly This helps me play more metal riffs, as stereotypical as it is, As some one who plays more Hard rock and 1% metal, this actually gave me good ideas.
I like that diminished runs can actually be considered a stereotype in metalCore and metal in general, because the rest of music just seemed to forget that they were even a thing at all.
Allegiance by As Blood Runs Black was so good though haha Then they switched members and fell apart RIP. Good video bro.
You missed the one where when you do half time breakdowns in drop D where you play the low E on the 1st fret and the A and D strings are open. 2011 crabcore breakdowns for daaaayyys. Sick video, as always 🤘🏻
Sick!
Thank you!
Nik Nocturnal Anytime bro
"Bro, just half it!"
A Day to Remember in a nutshell.
Hi, Leon.
This whole video is A Day To Remember I swear 😂
^^^^
2 of my favorite youtube guitarists ! Yay ! \m/
:)
metalcore is one of the best sounding metal in my opinion alongside nu-metal.
Metalcore is my favorite genre all the time! Hell yeah ! ☺️😁🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘✌️👍
Same here!
If there was a band that had deathcore breakdowns. Mixture of Metalcore, Djent, Thrash riffs and a vocalist with nice cleans and did normal fry and false chords plus other techniques that bands like infant annihilator do... Wow...
Nathaniel Stuart I agree
@@NathanielBTM listen to Sylosis' album "Conclusion of An Age" i think you'll be pleasantly surprised
I need a full version of As Diminished Runs Black
Sick shit. As always. Keep it coming bro.
Thanks Kyle!
The 5-7-8 riff sounds somewhat like Shadows are Security/An Ocean Between us AILD.
It was for sure inspired by those albums :D
*Nik posts a video with Andrew BAEna*
AHHHHHHhhhhh It feels like christmas already...
:D
Every one of these stereotypes are what metalcore so wonderful. It's like painting music by numbers!
^^
Just so you know my dude your Triplet's and Andrew's Octave chords part were both badass \m/
You can even hear a bit of the last one in BFG Division.
Keep up the killer content man!
Thanks my dude!
Nik and Andrew are the best with these collabing stereotype videos
Its awesome that people can just enjoy music and not take it or themselves too seriously, this video was awesome, thanks for the great content :'')
Thank YOU for the kind words!
By far the most accurate stereotypes video you guys have done
"Do what I'm doing but like... higher"
i can't even tell you how many times my rhythm guitarist has said this to me haha good video dudes!
Thank you!
the octave one, best without question, though the power of 3 is great too
The last one is so early BMTH, sounds like every song off Count Your Blessings
Loved it Nik, really enjoyed this whole series🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks Tyler!
Damn it dude! I saw half of the discografy of atreyu, KsE and ATR in this video
:D
2:11 Damn, i broke my neck
Quite honestly want to hear some bands that do those, the harmony and the 5-7-8 are tight as hell
Best so far. Almost all my favorite things in one vid/song.
Thank you! :D
All of em are fantastic !
I thought it was duh-dah-dah, duh-dah-dah
Both work, they triplet just well
That is Djent.
I want a complete song build around the half time riff!!!
Love it, so true 👏🏼
This video sounds exactly like skipping through a Trivium album
That diminished section was 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you!
I loved that diminished runs bit! What bands/songs are good examples of that?
Loved it. And rather comical.
Keep em comin. But dude, don't burn yourself out.
Thanks Dustin! I'll be sure to not burn out :D
0:38 dude that is so lit
Bro all the metalcore songs I know have none of these stereotypes, am I listening to the right metalcore?
what artists?
Bro as blood runs black... straight legends
Haha finally a video of a a conversation I have all the time. I’ve been teaching myself djent for like a year but I always stop and say I mean I can play metal core, so begins the 5,7,8 riffs. But then I add,”that’s not what I’m trying to do haha. Good job guys loved it!!
Thanks Ben!
My fav metal youtubers in 1 video🤩🤩🤩 Always killin it
Thank you :)
Just screaming random words along with these riffs sound fukking cool lmfao
Tbh 'Do what I'm doing but higher' is still pretty sick after all these years.
Aha very true!
Cool one. Most of your videos are so usefull for me cause i wanna make a music in the nearest future.
Great :D
@@NikNocturnal Yes :D
Watched this video, immediately turns on Fit For A King's Dark Skies. Metalcore FTW!! \m/
Hell yeah!!
yo the tone on the schecter is sic
Thank you! :)
All of these sterotypes sounded great.
Dude that octave lead would sound awesome as a chorus riff
Miss may i uses everything in this video for their music aha. I love it
Pretty much
Hold on a sec-
**sniff** **sniff**
*Killswitch?*
Dat Triplet Chug really do hit though
btw i started guitar and this video is nice for some creativity (i used to play acn i coudlnt find a way to express) great video thank you
I wish we could get another proper as blood runs black album
The dissonant escape plan and as diminished runs black is my favorite, makes me wanna rip my guitar at 6am while everyone is sleeping😂
Thanks Shawn!
Y’all play so easy , I learned that shit in 2011
"Dude I told you I can play lead" is definitely my favorite parts of songs
So happy to see dilinger acknowledgement.
Great video I laughed and broke my neck all at the same time😂🤣☠️
Perfect
The 5-7-8 pattern is a sacred thing
Something about 5-7-8 just hits so hard every damn time!
Dillinger Escape Plan and the most basic drum pattern you can find. You havent listened to them, I mean at all? 😂
A-2---10-9h10------10-9h10--
E-0-0-----------0-0------------
I was so addicted to that All That Remains style riff when i started coming up with my own songs. Even more when i figured out you can do the harmony a third up
This is the origin of grasping at unseen ladies and gents
Metalcore with better sound and musicianship. I’m all in!
And all of these in Stand Up and Scream by Asking Alexandria
Dude you know that these are all stereotypes but still they sound sooo awesome it doesn't matter anyway. I'll always love kick ass "that 5 - 7 -8" riffs since I guilty of soo many of these stereotypes myself lol
the most used metalcore stereotype - looking like Jeremy McKinnon
Lmao that too
Try some of The Crimson Armada old stuff pls
Will do!
This is epic
Can we get these as full songs btw?
Thank you! :D
The god replied. Holy hecc. Ysss
Love u both guys)
Thanks Alex!
2:11 Every breakdown!
I just realized how much For Today used the diminished runs lol
Yeah the 5-7-8 part rings so true but i cant lie itll have me head banging every time, that was a nice ass riff too by the way
Thank you!
Diminished Runs sounds so fuckin' good oh gosh
Glad you like it!
That octave riff at 1:56 was pretty tasty
