This summer, my wife and I will celebrate 42 years together. That is a lot of work, give and take.
Just hit 45 here.
It takes compromise and commitment.
Pretty simple when you both agree to that.
We'll celebrate our 45th wedding in August.

My parents will complain to me about one another. My response, “And what would you like me to do about it? You have said, ‘I do’ three times now… Your original ceremony, you renewed at the 25th and renewed again at 50th. At this point, it’s till death do us part!!!” That’s when they tell me to go home. 😝🤣🤣

While I help to celebrate my parents 50 anniversary I witnessed the same situation 😮….they still married 15 years later. Acknowledge that situation help me to take the decision to get my divorce… I couldn’t imagine to continue that road. 🤨
@@SuperintendentParklaneManor They’ve argued so much over the years about the dumbest stuff, I remember being 14 y/o (the youngest of us 4), went to our parents as the spokesperson - to tell them that we’ve had enough, if they don’t stop it, they’re not going to make it! It made a difference for at least a while. 🤦🏽♀️
Complaining instead of working on their issues is definitely a them problem.

Integrity , honesty , gratitude , commitment,mercy,forgiveness,self respect,and mutual respect,love and living true to our principles is very important...
every one is different...
But,this has worked ...

I was taking a health history on an older man. I asked if he was married. He replied he was single but he was married 5 times, they all died. I wondered why I needed to ask if he was married. I felt so bad for him. Then he said they had all died from food poisoning except the last one. Then he said yeah, She wouldn’t eat the food.

Husband and I been married 17yrs. I’m the 3rd wife. Longer than the other 2 combined.
This is only anecdotal ofc, but I’ve actually seen a lot of ppl make third marriages work. These people usually start off by marrying way too hastily bc that’s what you’re ‘supposed’ to do. After their first marriage blows up, for their second they pick the total opposite of their first spouse. Like, let’s say the first one just won’t communicate what’s bothering them… so the second one is a screaming-and-throwing-things ‘communicator’. Then when the second marriage blows up, they finally take some time for self-reflection, figure out what kind of person they ACTUALLY want to be with, and they find someone who’s actually good for them. It may sound crazy, but I’m a believer in third marriages.

My grandma had her first two husbands die of cancer. The first one cheated on her with a school teacher and they left the state.
The second one they actually stayed married but she married a rich guy who was much older and he died
Her third guy he had lost his wife and wouldn't get married to her. They were together for over twenty years and both were retired to they spent all their free time together. He died on her too and she probably lasted five more years
This is the third marriage for me and my husband. We've been together since our first date on 11/24/2008. I'll be 58 next week and he'll be 55 in November. Being in love is the easy part. Love takes work. You're not always in love with each other at the same time with each passing year. We both had baggage, but I told him from day one, "I can't, and won't, promise you life with me will be easy. But I can, and I am, promising you it will be worth it." I stand by that. 😉

I wont lie I've blown on ice cream =( no one saw.

Marriage is a a joke to a lot of people.
When your thin skin and you have no idea who the person is, you're going to fail. When you take years to invest in a relationship then things work out better.
My brother has been married three times. His first wife aborted a pregnancy without even talking to him about it and tried to hide it after the fact. The second just left with no explanation, to find herself, I guess. Took their only child with her, and left the state. He and his current wife have been together for 30+ years now. He's currently battling cancer, but she is obviously not going anywhere. In spite of her own health issues, she spends her days doing her best to make sure he's comfortable, and doing whatever she can within her power to keep him alive. Sometimes three really is the charm in this crazy world.

Never wanted to marry my boyfriend of 20 years because he was unfaithful and abusive both physically and mentally. One day I just took my kids and left. No lawyers or divorce drama.
Yeah I think it would be better to love together for a bit before deciding. He doesn't say if he did that or not, but I'm still seeing red flags.
