    Have the feeling i need to make a pined comment since options seem to differ on this video. I chose to get a power wheelchair after loosing independence over 2 years ago. I had to quit going to school ect ect . I feel it’s given me a great amount of ind to go into grass , go in the yard with my dog . Go over my friends house ect . Power wheelchairs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea and that’s OK. I always recommend talking to your dr / apt before making any decisions about your / your child’s seating

    I have a whipe clean cushion
    The cover is made of silicone.
    The fabric ones are nice
    But if you'r incontinent like me.
    Then I suggest having one.
    I got two at a couple of thrift stores
    For $5.00 & $10.00. The 18x18
    Is 2 inches thick the 20x20 is a inch1/2 thick

  • @ChronicallyCassidy
    @ChronicallyCassidy 5 лет назад +1

    Yeah maybe which chair you’d use for what why you’d choose to not use the power chair for some outing and etc

  • @ReganBrown
    @ReganBrown 5 лет назад +1

    We haven’t navigated the world of power chairs yet. Trying to still be as independent as possible. :) But you do what’s best for your case.

    • @EmilysLifeOnWheels
      @EmilysLifeOnWheels  5 лет назад

      ?? That’s a heavy statement!! My shoulders are destroyed from YEARS OF wheeling . But to each there own FYI if anything this chair gives me way more independence than any wheelchair ever can

    • @EmilysLifeOnWheels
      @EmilysLifeOnWheels  5 лет назад

      That’s also funny you say that considering in one of your recent videos you were using a power chair

    • @ReganBrown
      @ReganBrown 5 лет назад +2

      Emily’s Life On Wheels that wheelchair is being replaced with a Manual stander, because, the electrical stander was to big for my house, and wasn’t suitable for my needs.

      Emily’s Life On Wheels I’m not judging you, we are all entitled to our own opinions. :)

    • @EmilysLifeOnWheels
      @EmilysLifeOnWheels  5 лет назад +1

      Never said you were judging me just saying that it’s pretty heavy to say that a wheelchair with power doesn’t offer independence when there are thousands upon thousands of people who make RUclips videos you have power wheelchairs and stuff like that so that’s all and it’s giving me way more independence in my opinion so yeah

  • @ChronicallyCassidy

    Is there insurance for the wheelchair or is it covered for anything breaking or malfunctioning for a certain amount of time? Because I remember you saying something about not being able to get a new chair for every five years or something like that but obviously things can happen before five years.

    • @EmilysLifeOnWheels
      @EmilysLifeOnWheels  5 лет назад

      Yes it’s 100 % covered since it’s really important medical equipment

    Are your foot rest power to drop to be flush to floor

    • @EmilysLifeOnWheels
      @EmilysLifeOnWheels  5 месяцев назад

      I don’t think flushed to the floor but pretty darn close and then I’m able to swing them up because the problem with me is that I’m really short so when I go to get down, they hit me in the back of the leg and fall back down, so I push them down with the button And then I’m able to flip them up and get down and they don’t hit me anymore when they’re low

    • @EmilysLifeOnWheels
      @EmilysLifeOnWheels  5 месяцев назад

      If you push the button all the way down until you see a red button for any of the functions that’s as low as it’ll go, and then if you were to do that with the seat elevator as well or like the tilt and reclined back rust, they only let you go so far when everything turns red then that’s the maximum they’re able to go
