These comments are so typical. I totally understand Kate's frustration! I work a job, come home, do laundry, cook for my family, take out the trash, clean toilets and bathtubs, vacuum...ect. And it DOES get frustrating every so often! When I clean the kitchen and walk in an hour later and find a sink full of dishes...argh!!!
***** Sounds like you have made good choices for yourself! I want to say that I've NEVER regretted having children...my daughters are one thing I did right!! :) And though it may not be 50/50 housework in my marriage, I have a great husband! I have never wanted for time to myself. I learned long ago that I needed that and my family gives it to me. :)
If you watch the opening credits (featuring the photos on the piano) the camera lingers longest on Sada Thmompson. Most likely in her contract how long her credit would appear on screen.
Well she gets top billing, even before James Broderick who himself had had quite a successful career by then. Maybe Sada did more Broadway? I remember James more from a few movies in the 50s/60s. But I love them both equally and I think they were tremendous together. Had I not had a good childhood, I would have fantasized having them for my imaginary parents.
not into beauty parlors, cant afford them and what i look like isnt that important to me, id rather be healthy on the inside than covered in layers of fake makeup. thats just me, ive always been like that, im 60 and i dont have one single grey hair on my head, not colored. all real. really.
raising two daughters, paying bills, etc, for my now ex, i heard him on his cell phone with whoever he was messing around with at about year 31, hes gone, im not,im not into adultery myself, so he had to be gone, sorry, when i got married it was supposed to be forever, not a joke, which it was to him, he asked me, didnt i know we were only married on paper> sorry im into fidelity. now he can do everything for himself , he never grew up yet and hes 60. not that much time left, he best get busy, im gone forever.
patrea lynn- Lady, from reading several of your posts here, I can only say, and I mean this sincerely, I hope you got yourself into some sort of therapy.

I agree, especially with THREE grown ass kids and a husband who COULD be more helpful around the house.

I love them all!
Reminds me of my Dad when my Mom was a little miffed at us

Maybe it had something to do with the fact her character was the glue that held the family together.
Bill Anthony This part. In many shows back then the mother figures were “the glue” even though it was a two-parent (nuclear) family.
Sada was a good woman and so was Kate
Farrah Fawcett Majors, watch out!!
sometimes moms feel like they do everything in the house, and of course its true.

Good for you. Unfortunately gray hair is hereditary. Most of us aren’t so lucky
