The Baneblade Model kit comes with each part for building all 8 variants, so it doesn't destroy your wallet. Just 140.00 USD plus the cost of the magnets and green putty (not counting the glue here). Also, if you wanted 4 sponsons, the Baneblade Model kit only comes with 2, so you have to spend 50.00 through GW's website in order to buy the other two sponsons. Your wallet is safe. This is coming from somebody that runs a 3000 point army (exactly 3000 points) with two Shadowswords, two Hellhammers, one Stormlord and 1 Vindicare Assassin (1 Super Heavy detachment and 1 Auxillary Support Detachment. It is battle forged.) Win or Lose, it's a fun army to play that looks really cool being that it has been painted by a master painter. "Your foe is well equipped, well-trained, battle-hardened. He believes his gods are on his side. Let him believe what he will. We have the tanks on ours.'' Edit- I just noticed this video is from 2016! Sorry!
Was super nervous about if I was gonna get this 140$ (!) model and only be able to build like 2-3 of the variants out of the kit unless I went bit hunting, thanks for clearing my conscience
dude thank you for this video im working on an octo right now for a commission build and this helped me tremendously. i figued a way to only magnetize the final storm cannon variant. glue down the cover piece on the square turret. then use the existing rectangle hole on the base for the barrels. cut the back of the rectangle out, so it slides in, boom th top keeps it from falling forward and you can save a couple of magnets. great video my friend
Thanks for this video! I was able to magnetize my own Deathstrike/Manticore kit, but I was worried I wouldn't be able to do the same with the Baneblade. Your video is really gonna help me.
I've got 1 baneblade, my rescueblade(partly converted, previous owner lost inspriration) from Ebay. I'm just telling myself that this is an academic study into how I'd theoretically go about making another baneblade, if ever I was to hyperthetically get a second one. And how I'd covert it to my own pattern(nothing leaves my desk without a few modifications, my baneblade, was exstensively modified, and now has what is probably the largest cast turret in tabletop wargaming history(definetly 28mm-32mm range)(the top of the turret was trimmed of all detail by the previous owner, and exstensively melted with glue, so I built a plasticard frame around that and covered the whole thing with a milliput shell) whilst still being able to magnetise everything.
Part of wishes I found this video before gluing together my base Baneblade variant, but since I'm going to turn it into a chaos renegade anyone it probably isn't necessary. Just means I need to get another in the future! Thanks for the vid.
Thank you for the video 👍🏼 Question Please could you give a shopping list if all the magnets required to follow your instructions in the video? Thank you
Sorry, but I don't have access to this model or even the parts I used on it. So I can't check any sizing that I used. I would find someone that magnetized their Tau Battlesuits, the magnet sizes I used were similar to those. Then again you might have to test size/fit a few different types. I recommend experimenting :)
This is really interesting, I have just got my first baneblade and I think I'll give this a go. Would you say this is fairly simple to do? Did you measure the distance for the sprues stuck on the inside or did you just eyeball it?
I'm really new to the art of magnetizing, and it will be daunting to make this my first magnetized vehicle. Could I ask what size magnets you've used for the various steps?
I want to build one, it's going to be a spacemarine one that was taken back from chaos. So it will have space marine crew instead. Any tips on what version I should build it?
Anywhere from 430 to 500 points. If I were you I would do the stormlord variant as you can put 40 of the ratskin snipers and demolish anything in your path. I haven’t looked to far into the other variants as the stormlord caught my eye and I bought one for my genestealer cult army.
Could you please list what size magnets you used and if it's not too tedious for you (I understand there are probably a lot :P ) how many of each you used?
All my hobby stuff for my Guard is in storage until next year :( I ordered three different sizes, but I can't recall which one I actually used. I think it's the same size as Tau Crisis Suits use for their weapons.
well like the big think yes me i ues flat heed screws to save on magnets and flat bits of matal that stick to em ho if what do this you ues a long screw to put your laz canons on top as post of gun just a thin and now must do the thing i shud not do yes SUB and see other and new vids
Last time i set foot in my GW shop, there was a poster Wanted : Grey Shirt Guy, dead or alive. You have been warned.
Thanks for the heads up!
I only want 3 of the variants but this is still a god send. More drilling and magnetism than I've ever done with a model but hell it's worth it!
This magnificent vehicle is made for destroying three things: Xenos, heretics and your wallet.
I is gonna loot it. ;) Orktablade.

I’m running a stormlord in my genestealer cult army. Down with the imperium!
@@johnathanbeebe8809 You madman.
And not necessarily in that order!
I just got my first Baneblade, and I have to say, this video is going to be saving me lots of frustration. Thank you, sir.
:) you are welcome!
This video is gold!
Girlfriend got this for me for xmas, time to make ALL THE VARIANTS.
Glad to be of assistance! :)

When I saw Octablade, I thought I would see all 8 at once. I stand corrected haha. good job nonetheless

How do you do that

This is awesome! I was trying to work out how to do this myself and your video helped a lot.
You're welcome :)
im 3d printing one rn, your explanation and illustartion is very helpful thanks

Just means I need to get another in the future! Thanks for the vid.
No problem, feel free to share it so others can enjoy the content :)
the doomhammer variant looks like a stug III on some serious steroid abuse
Getting a 'blade soon - thanks so much for this!
To always get a flush fit for that top bit use the 2 plates on the front that should go with the stormlord vulcan megabolter.
this video should have more views. Anyway, soon i shall start building my first baneblade and i think i will follow most, if not all of your advices
Got my second blade, got a 3d printed blastgun in the post and it's NONABLADE TIME!!!
I will send this video to my painter and put him to work :D
Your voice quality sounds like you have 100k subs aha
Thanks, sadly only 59, and been doing RUclips pretty steady for a year. Oh well, it's just a hobby :)
I was wondering where all my extra pieces are, but then I remembered I bought mine when it was only a Baneblade kit.
Amazing, thanks for this well done/ well explained video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for the video 👍🏼

Can you send a link to where you can buy the magnets? please
This is really interesting, I have just got my first baneblade and I think I'll give this a go. Would you say this is fairly simple to do? Did you measure the distance for the sprues stuck on the inside or did you just eyeball it?
It was actually rather easy to do once the base was assembled. As for measuring the sprues I did a few test fits before gluing it in place.
got any measurements for the sprue bits that hold the hull?
was wondering the same thing. as well
@@GreyShirtGuy I thought I had replied earlier. Octoblade is done and looking well
Good to hear!

I want to build one, it's going to be a spacemarine one that was taken back from chaos. So it will have space marine crew instead. Any tips on what version I should build it?
Well if you aren't going to build it like the video shows then you'll have to decide which weapon configuration will fit your army better.
Any tips for if I only wanna be able to switch between the Shadowsword and Stormlord varients only?
I'd have to look at the model, unfortunately my guard are all in storage :(
What size magnet did you use for the baneblade cannon base? (On turret)
@CommissarRycor Exactly how many mm or cm is the sprue from the top of the tank?
I'm not 100% sure, and all my Guard models are in storage so I can't check for you. Just test fit it a few times and you'll do fine.
What size magnets do you use? @greyshirtguy
IT IS THE BAAANEBLADE......
yeah i know i could find better.
just how high are the sprue parts in the inside? I don't wanna fuck up since the entire thing depends on those xD
Damnit I want a baneblade now
They are great kits.
@@GreyShirtGuy you’ve doomed my wallet

great video. thanks man.
Thanks :)
Easy, when in need, just "borrow" one.......I'm going to "borrow" yours
What kit does this come from and where is the stormblade?
stormblade is Forgeworld only and the kit is the bane blade kit
Súper complet thanks XD
Love tanks and it very expensive tank I ever see . I was planning buy but no 😢
How many points is Banebade?
I'm not sure, new Astra Militarum Codex is coming out soon though. The points should be in there.

This was the GW kit.

Where is my wallet, Great tutorial other versions had 100s of fucking magnets this looks way easier
or you can buy it 8 times.....its not cheap but you dont need to rebuild it all the times :P
I made this when I was poor, I am still poor, but now I have several Baneblade chassis!
@@GreyShirtGuy well it was more of a joke :D
