There's a special place in Hell for everyone that stood in the way of Rock/Cena/Punk at WM29. The culmination of a 2 year rivalry. Two dynasties against Punk's 500+ day WWE Championship reign. Satisfies everyone and you probably save Punk from leaving for a decade. * rage *
It boils my blood man. I could be wrong but I believe he was the strongest heel in the company at the time of 2011. They do nothing with him and instead opt for a fucking Cena vs miz match(that only exists to setup a Mania match next year). Then in 2012, He's THE champion going into Mania and then they screw him over because Cena vs Rock was bigger, yeah alright whatever. And then in 2013 they screw him over again because now all of a sudden you gotta have the wwe Title to be in the main event and Oops we gave it to the rock. And then a year later in 2014 we're gonna make you fight *checks notes* triple H of all people 🤡 like wth man
It's still so funny to me that Punk proposed a triple Threat Elimination at one point and was okay with being eliminated 5 minutes into the match lmao. He desperately wanted that main event 😭 Although, I'm glad he fought Taker instead. Just wish that was the main event since it was far and away the best match on the show.
FACTS it’s still baffling wwe never booked that match because one you can avoid doing false advertising for the “once in a lifetime match” with john cena vs the rock at wrestlemaina 28 two you could of have cena and punk do most of the spots in the match and rock only do the big spots so he does not get injured and three punk can finally get his wrestlemania main even win or lose It’s a win win situation for everybody but of course that is not what happened because vince.
And 4, they built the 3 way rivalry for 2 years. People forget that Punk was taking shots at Rock in 2011 along with Cena. Punk should’ve won at rumble via shenanigans. Cena wins Rumble. Rock gets rematch at Chamber, Rock wins. Punk envokes rematch at Mania and let the 3 of them cut loose in promos for all their grievances the past 2 years.
Simon, Cody was Stardust only around *half-a-year* after that Dusty angle; not *years* . Plus, he wasn't allowed to drop Stardust in WWE, even up to a *year* after Dusty passed; that's why he quit originally. The rest is history...
Jericho should've won the 2012, 2013 Royal Rumble Punk should've beaten the Rock once(at the Royal Rumble) and be part of the main event of 29 Ryback needed to be WWE Champion he was over and he was on a monster run Fandango deserved a push after coming back from his injury since he was over and did beat Jericho Dolph Ziggler should've been on a mega push with his World Title win These are facts
Stardust would of been just fine if the story was straightforward, put them together, Cody turns on goldust and wiped his paint off. WrestleMania match and make up afterwards. He'll go the other direction and make goldust turn and be Dustin again. Either way it can end the same
The fact that Miz, chris jericho, kevin owens, edge and lot of other lesser stars main evented Wrestlemania and CM PUNK has not is mind blowing. He is a bigger star than all of them.
Punk didnt get to main event that Mania or Summerslam, but he put on the best match of the night at both shows. I understand why he was pissed off and left. I was disappointed as a fan, but understood as a human being.
I started 1999. 2013 was a Rough year to start fandom. I took a break for a while in 2014. Christ was it bad that year. I came back when Sting debuted at Survivor Series 2014
The amount of stupid idiotic decisions made by Vince around this time is still so baffling to me. The amount of work the current regime has done to make W's and L's matter, fan acknowledgment (this was about the start of the fans hijacking shows), don't even get me started on CM Punk and everything he had to endure. I'm just really happy to see HHH and Co. really stepping up and making wrestling mean something to me and so many others again. I really think VKM had it out for the fans around this time and if you don't believe me watch the last 5 minutes of Battleground 2013.
Some people in this world again really stupid. Chris Jericho said he wasn't going to be at the Royal rumble. You wanna why you said that... It wasn't to trick you. It was to make sure that people didn't know he was going to be in the rumble😮😮😮😮 you know trying to keep a little kfabe alive.
0:13 The stuff with Punk is fascinating BECAUSE he came back to WWE and BECAUSE he criticized Adam Page for going off script in AEW however many years after he himself did the same in the promo you cited with The rock. By the way, I didn't know he went off script before watching this video. Him lashing out at Adam sounds a little bit hypocritical now
no he didn't go off script, he got the script changed. bit of a difference between that (with your opponent still knowing what you're going to say before you go out there) and just straight up going into business for yourself. although i do agree i think punk overreacted to the hangman promo because what he said wasn't even bad.

FACTS.
The Jim Ross thing was so upsetting. When my friends and I watched the press conference, it seemed like all good fun. It was baffling.
JR never announced his retirement; WWE did it directly via their website. They didn't even *claim* it was of his own volition...
Still CM Punk should've got main event spotlight at WM 29 in triple threat match against Rock & John Cena

Not bigger than Chris Jericho....and Owens has never headlined..night one is a joke
@@khesipresents1885 It was pretty clear who was the bigger star when punk was in aew.
