Im sorry for asking a stupid question. Could you make a video to deconfuckulate my brain on how to use this radio for efficiency, emergency, and for the general moron like myself how to use it. Pretty please with Baofeng on top? Basically, how to set up and use one, please great G-d of radios.
As a licensed ham, I was a bit irritated by this channel a few years back, because I was ignorant, and my elmer was a sad ham. It's now one of my top 5 favorite channels. I love the subtle (and not so subtle) messages, and the humor. Don't give up on the sad hams. They might just come around.
I don't even own a radio but, I am a subscriber and a faithful viewer. Every hobby has its version of "sad hams", and the jabs thrown by this master is without question equal to Mike Tyson in its precision and power. You are a top tier level Boss on the You Tubes. Thank you, Sir....

The beauty of this particular radio is that, like the large Magsafe flashlights, it doubles as a weapon. I think if you purchase the telescoping, heavy steel baton/antenna, this could be a good device to talk to friends, or fiight off coyotes or mountain lions. The only thing that it misses a light shining from the bottom so it can be used to blind your opponent before striking them with the antenna.
Thanks for your videos. I recently bought a Boof Wang. Will plan to buy a Waxon/Waxoff GMRS radio. Cant wait to spuriously emit Roger beeps on the H.A.M frequencies.
I bought the AR-152, it was the first radio I've ever bought. In army green. I got the super cool foldy antenna and a push to talky thing that clips on my plate carrier. You should see the chicks at the range. It's amazing.
The ending to your introductions instantly earned you a place in my “favorite” video category which is a ranking a very, very rarely bestow on a video and it is now is the company of a very few, intensively curated and highly regarded videos that I will forever cherish…. Or, maybe never watch later… but, still… great intro!
Because of your videos I bought a Baofeng. I'm happy with it, I love it, I USE IT. I've had more expensive Radios costing 5 times more than this Baofeng and when they broke you throw it in the trash, there goes hundreds of dollars, yea. If my Baofeng goes bad, I throw it in the trash and pay $25 for a brand new, fresh Radio, yea!
OMG! This was the funniest video I've ever watched. Perhaps being wasted had something to do with it, but the list of what you care about were exceptional.
There is also a PTT adapter available as well and is compatible with military 7.0 plug. Note that it is limited to EARMOR and MSA headsets at the moment. Just pointing out another option for comms.
I have Leixen uv25d it's a brick but puts out 24 watts. I call it the brain heater. Best to use with a speaker mic with that power. Good to use with a wire jpole in a tree or a mobile antenna .

Quite a bit of variance on the output from these, it appears. I checked mine with the same kind of meter (I think, not sure; looks exactly the same). My green one puts out in excess of 8 watts on all the freqs I checked. All GMRS.

How about a review of Quansheng UV-K5(8)? Randy, I absolutely love your satire and sarcasm, along with the intimate relationship you have with your Baofeng radios. Hoping you will review the Quansheng, you may find her to be more satisfying, or maybe not....
I got a green one, I don't know if its heavier than the black one. I knocked it off the bedside table a few days ago, it hit my foot and hurt like hell ... it still works though :-) No bones or antenna broken though. I did find out on testing though that The ABBREE Tactical Antenna performs far better than the big rubber 'goose' supplied and also far better than the Nagoya ducks folks suggest are better than Baofeng's.
