I forgot to mention, best battery life for a laptop - still getting over 15+ hrs and it also has updated ray tracing. I rarely game on my Mac, but it is getting better!
Actualmente tengo un MacBook Pro Mid 2012 con upgrade (8ram/500ssd) pero ya se queda “congelado” con algunas tareas, o le cuesta realizarlas, además de ser lentas. Uso principalmente para revisar contenido Online, documentos como Word, PDF, consumir streaming, edición de fotos ocasional nada profesional, juego LOL y algunos otros… recomiendas ir por el AIR M3 8ram/512gb… AIR M2 16ram/512gb o ir por el PRO 8ram/512gb ??? 16gb of ram and 512gb storage should be the standard in 2024. Am I the only one that feels that way specially on a laptop that cost over $1k ?

Apple sent out review units with 16gigs of ram and 512gig hd… so I think apple secretly agrees with you. The base model 8gig is embarrassing.
Well, they wouldn’t sell that higher base spec for the same price tho. That’s why they offer a cheaper base configuration good enough for most users.
The M2 15 inch air I have it for over 5+ months now close to a year and it’s an absolute beast! I only maxed out the RAM to 24gb ram with 256gb SSD cause i don’t really see a difference with the speeds and I always don’t mind the waiting on the downloads anyway since I’m doing something else to keep me busy. Overall, I’m very satisfied with it! Use multiple tabs, have photoshop open while watching a stream or RUclips, pretty much have multiple applications open and the 24gb ram REALLY helps to not wear out the SSD swap or MacBook itself, absolute powerful machine!
How do you manage the finder ? It’s still a headache for me being used to windows.. which apps are absolute recommended for easy use of the laptop..

How did I upgrade the ram to 24gb? I thought you couldn’t upgrade ram in Macs.

I've got the M1 Air with 16GB of RAM and 512SSD and the most I do with it is edit photos in Lightroom. The machine still runs incredibly well and I can't imagine having the need or desire to upgrade for even the next few years. I still quite like the older Air design and the M2 and M3 chipsets aren't really meaningfully more capable for me. Definitely would be worth the upgrade from an Intel device though!
I have bought an MBA M2 16GM, 256GB SSD last year. I love it and hate it as the same time.
Apple takes their customers for a ride. 16GB and 512GB SSD should be standard.
I am not insane to spend the extra bucks for an SSD upgrade. Apple lost its marbles on that.

Just bought my m2 MBA two weeks ago. It is also an impressive machine I think to upgrade within 4 years or if needed to a MbP for the moment I am more than satisfy. For me Space gray is the best.

Thanks for the review! Just picked up this exact model/color as my first mac computer and I’m pretty excited for the new challenge. I still decided to go with the midnight despite all the gripes about finger prints. Just gonna keep a microfiber cloth handy at my desk lol
I'm coming from an M1 Mac Mini and I've been longing to go back to a laptop, but the previous Macbook Air's didn't support two external screens. Now that the M3 one does, I've ordered one with 16gb RAM and 512 SSD in Space Grey.
For 100$ more you could’ve gotten the m3 MacBook Pro! Same specs but more ports and better GPU performance, from Best Buy!

I was about to get the 15" 16Gb model when amazon dropped the 15" 8Gb model by £200 so I got that instead.I've had it just over a week and handles everything I throw at it as in Affinity and Photoshop.I don't do films or 3D or Gaming-unless you count 'Match 3'
eep reading advice to get the 16GB MBA M2 or M3 rather than the base 8GB. But when I look on the apple sites it seems you have to first take 512gb (+++££) and THEN upgrade to 16GB (+++£). Can I not just take 16GB and 256gb option? Insight gratefully received.

and make the screen mechanism 360* for the tablet mode..
and apple pencil support...
and multi OS option (iPadOS+MacOS)
and 512/16GB for the base config.
Those features would have justified the price and the upgrade

In my opinion, BECAUSE the price of the m2 air dropped, I will get the M2 MacBook Air because I need that 16gb memory configuration because it is now A$1,899 instead of A$2,099
In my opinion It would save a little battery when running also a bit faster than MB Air M2 but not enough for MB Air M2 users to update. Just one notice on MB Air M3 is about Its SSD speed that's faster than MB Air M2.

Just picked it yesterday and the ease of use is amazing just like using my iPhone and iPad I hate I waited so long to get it well worth it
SD card slot is a want for me, not a need. and the display from the pro models it is really tough to go backwards. 16GB of RAM and 512GB of Storage is standard. i'd love one of these as a secondary device but thats what my ipad pro is for. (i still really want one)
coming from my 2017 macbook pro, honestly i still think it runs great, except the battery like. i thought about getting it replaced and spending about 150-250, but then i thought about trading it in for 230 which is what apple offers. the macbook pros are way too expensive honestly and i wanted that space black i think thats the name but base model for that one is like 1800 without tax so i think i may just get the m3 air midnight

I have a m2 13 inch in midnight but cannot bare the fingerprints on it, I’m going to trade it in and get 860$ would it be better to spend a 250$ extra to get the m3 in space black or get the m2 for only 100$ more. Although sounds dumb it’s a personal opinion.

I am just confused between the Air M3 and the Pro M3 as after we spec out the air with good storage and memory, it’s almost same priced as the pro M3…. and I also need a laptop for years to come atleast 6 to 7 years minimum.

Depends what your using it for
it's called "greed". It’s one thing when you make an expensive product and include all the new technologies in it and for 5 years you can forget about updating the gadget. It’s another matter when they deliberately (artificially) stretch out modernization (including programmatically limiting the capabilities of equipment) in order to add some little thing every year and sell it to those who are ready to spend money on minor upgrades every year.
You talk about all the specs which the Apple official infos. But there’re some problems that M series MacBook which you need to review the most, it’s the touchpad and screenshot.
Of course you said that there’s no problem with the touchpad and screenshot. But many people experienced MacBook Air m1 with bad experience of touchpad after buying the new macbook several months afterwards. The touchpad not smooth, even MacBook Pro 2012 touchpad was so very smooth and good, but this air M1 was so bad and mot smooth.
And also after screenshot usually we put the shot directly insert it into Words or Apple Pages. After put it the screenshots for several times, it will loading so ever lasting! Never experienced it from MacBook Pro 2012, even using other things at the same time was never damage from the screenshot like M series MacBook.
So, I don’t know whether your review on M3 junk did the same other like m2 or m3? Without any research or experience it? Better not misinforming.

Especially with the new anodized surface I‘m thinking about purchasing this color and I wouldn‘t mind some scratches around the ports, but if after time it started to also show the silver aluminum around the edges this would be a reason for me to choose a different color… maybe someone here can help me out😊
