This dude, Colman, I used to know well and work with back in the 90s. He was the kindest, most generous, most entertaining, most humble, funniest dude in the room with an infectious laugh - no joke. And when he entered any room, he’d glide across the floor much like he did tonight. He’s a class act who deserves every bit of success he gets cause he’s been working his entire life to achieve it. Big ups, Colman - an old friend 🫂
His character SHOOK MY SOUL. I dealt with a few adults with addiction issues when i was a kid so I felt SO seen listening to the conversations between Rue and him. Incredibly painful but cathartic show.
There are pre-interviews done by staff members, who then come up with ideas. Although Stephen delievered it perfectly, I doubt it was his idea with the Oysters.
By far the sharpest dressed guest to ever grace the Ed Sullivan with Stephen. Colman is such a dream. His Fear the Walking Dead character is quite a complex villain, that I also adore. I hope he gets that Emmy!
It’s so interesting how he masters & completely embodies every single villain that he portrays, yet he’s the exact opposite in real life. That’s a 1st rate actor right there, folks!
That was so touching! I actually teared up! Good job Stephen😭😩 And I love Colemans love story with his spouse! Great interview. He seems like a warm and generous soul🥰🥰
I don’t know why but I wasn’t familiar with Colman’s work but he is the most beautiful man inside and out. So charismatic, humble and deeply moving. I will be on the look out for him from now on. Gracious interview.
I first saw Coleman Domingo in a mid 2000’s excellent and moving Rock-musical “Passing Strange.” He played a supporting role, but you could see the talent and authenticity. Spike Lee recorded the play’s final Broadway performance. I’ve seen the production on a RUclips channel. It’s well worth the watch.
What an incredible human being. I love this interview, wonderful reflection on how being of service and inspiring people is so powerful as an instrument of evolution. OMG the way he met his Beloved is AMAZINGLY romantic
This man is a top tier, hand-crafted gem of a man. They don't make em hand-crafted anymore. I was mass-produced. 😂 never seen him in my life but now I have so much respect for him and enjoyed this genuinely pleasant interview so much, knowing absolutely nothing about any of the topics.
I'm a bartender in NYC and a few months ago at my last job Colman came in for a drink because he was staying in the hotel next door. I was too shy to really strike a question but he was so kind. A few weeks later he came back in with a friend. It was busy and there were no seats at the bar but we made eye contact and I gestured that I'd hold the next seat available. He finally sat down and I served him for over an hour and we ended up having one of the best interactions I've ever had. I am a writer and former actor and told him that I want to get back into writing for film and tv. He was insanely encouraging and told me that I need to do it and he supports me. I've met quite a few celebrities but Colman is not only the nicest celebrity but one of the kindest people I've ever met. He totally deserves all the recognition he's getting.
Recently found out about him by watching fear the walking dead. Man, what an actor he played that role so well. Strand was a complex character but couldn’t help but being drawn to him.
I feel as if I was blessed to peek into a beautiful private conversation - Thanks again Stephen & nice to finally learn more about you, Colman (I feel that I can call you both by your first names now)
The way they met is super crazy, and I love it! It could have totally not happened. This is what I call luck! I had a similar thing with my girlfriend. We both went to play the same video game, on the same day. That video game had like 50 different servers, but somehow we both pick the same one. We also went to the same location inside the video game, out of 50000 different locations where you can go to. Also at the same time too. You know it's destiny when you re-meet someone that you wanted to know more, but you never had the change until much later in life. Before that 1 in a million meet-up, we met 1 single time in real life for about 10 minutes, like 5 years before the online thing.
I am a dorky white woman, but when Colman glided on stage, my immediate thought was, “That man is fly as h*ll” He is such a gift in so many ways, and I love how he brings out the best in Stephen. I think these kind of genuine interviews are why Stephen is so committed to his job.
Right his whole energy is immaculate! It’s no wonder his husband fell in love with him on the spot like that. I would’ve fallen for him just by passing by him too!
Beautiful man....💖💋 Stephen, you forgot to mention, Mr. Domingo's, work on, "Fear The Walking Dead." His character has had such an evolution, well portrayed by this gifted, and outstanding Actor.
Ooh, yes! Ushering for Bway shows was my little survival job (and way to see professional theatre) right out college. Studied acting & musical theatre. I was fortunate to usher for The Scottsboro Boys multiple times 🤯 I can NOT rave enough about Coleman’s performance & the entire show enough!! It should’ve run much longer than it did.
Mr. Coleman your stylist deserves all the snaps! 🫰🏾💥 What a cool MAN! 🤩🤩🤩 and the “Service is Love Made Visible” quote is AWESOME! I loved this sooo much I had to comment.
I have only ever seen him on the episode of "Lucifer" he appeared in almost six years ago. He was just incredible in it as the priest who befriends Lucifer. He's obviously an incredible person because I remember Tom Ellis, the star, gushing about working with him.
Lucky me the home I just did buy did come with cats ( yes I started to feed them ) ..one is this male slick cat by walking his feed barely touch the ground ..as we searched for a name we found it. Domingo 😉🐿️
That has to be the single most adorable love story of all time. No one Can deny god crafted this man’s husband in the heavens and sent him to meet him in the most poetic way possible♥️
Bayard Rustin was a gay socialist. Speaks to the courage and integrity of the movement, can't wait to see the movie. Hope they don't overlook his socialist ideals like the movie Pride did in it's portrayal of Mark Ashton.
Just wanted to say how fantastic Colman is in Fear the Walking Dead since it wasn’t even mentioned in this interview. Victor Strand is one of the greatest, most dynamic characters ever written. Feel like no one talks about it.
Very true throughout the show I was so drawn to him because no matter what he did and as selfish it may seemed he just wanted stability and his love for Alicia is beautiful.
I haven't watched the other shows mentioned, I only know him from "Fear the Walking Dead" as Victor Strand who seemed like a rich self absorbed A$$hole at 1st but later became a likeable character 😁
This dude, Colman, I used to know well and work with back in the 90s. He was the kindest, most generous, most entertaining, most humble, funniest dude in the room with an infectious laugh - no joke. SUPER talented too. Loved loved loved his performance in Zola. Breakout star.
beautifully put. thank you for sharing this. 😊👃
@@nicotuxedo Dude, he was the best part of Walking Dead too!
Lucky you.
Jeannie, how ‘bout that picture of him and other half...gorgeous! 🥰
You can tell he really felt that gesture from Stephen. Very thoughtful gesture.
It was so sweet ❤️
Colman Domingo is seriously incredible on Euphoria. Every moment he's on screen is a masterclass in dramatic acting.
His character SHOOK MY SOUL. I dealt with a few adults with addiction issues when i was a kid so I felt SO seen listening to the conversations between Rue and him. Incredibly painful but cathartic show.
He's really amazing. I first took notice if him on Fear of the Walking Dead. When I saw him on Euphoria I was blown away.
Beautiful and soulful from both warmhearted gents.
One of my favorite interviews I have seen in a long time. He seems like a wonderful person.
I did a play with him in 2006. He IS a wonderful person.
Wait, sorry, I think it was 2003 or 2004, he was still awesome
And this is why I love Stephen. He’s so thoughtful and true. I get this feeling that he connects with everyone. Including me. 😍
There are pre-interviews done by staff members, who then come up with ideas. Although Stephen delievered it perfectly, I doubt it was his idea with the Oysters.
you sound like his lover
TOTALLY. And me, too!!
This was a lovely conversation thst made me feel all warm inside. Two nice guys.
Two well raised gentlemen for sure. They exude kindness.
One of the best interviews I've seen on Colbert. Loved the connection between Steven and Colman.
He has such a warm and comforting presence 💜
By far the sharpest dressed guest to ever grace the Ed Sullivan with Stephen. Colman is such a dream. His Fear the Walking Dead character is quite a complex villain, that I also adore. I hope he gets that Emmy!

I thought the same....till the time
@@cmws1727.. had the same thought..! 😳😅.. he's such a gentle soul, but he can be a right villain, when he needs to 🧐😅
Mr. Domingo is a first class 👏🏾 Actor so classy, talented, handsome, and genuine!!!! 👏🏾 🎉
Mr. Domingo is rocking that outfit! Looks great.
That was so touching! I actually teared up! Good job Stephen😭😩 And I love Colemans love story with his spouse! Great interview. He seems like a warm and generous soul🥰🥰
I teared up too!
What a talented, wise, powerful man.
Grateful for his gift to us ✨
I don’t know why but I wasn’t familiar with Colman’s work but he is the most beautiful man inside and out. So charismatic, humble and deeply moving. I will be on the look out for him from now on. Gracious interview.
What. a. BEAUTIFUL soul ! My heart!!
That height,that suit,that unbuttoned shirt.oozing sexuality..what presence..awesome dude..
Every bit of that was beautiful to watch and listen to. Thank you.
💞now that's what I call two classy men having a heartwarming conversation. i thoroughly enjoyed this💕

HOLY SHIT SOMEONE ACTUALLY FOUND THEIR MISSED CONNECTION ON CRAIGSLIST?! God bless this gem of a man and his husband.
Yes, how lucky🎉 it brings me hope at the age of 60
What an incredible human being. I love this interview, wonderful reflection on how being of service and inspiring people is so powerful as an instrument of evolution.
OMG the way he met his Beloved is AMAZINGLY romantic
That has to be the single cutest love story I’ve ever heard in my life. No one Can deny they were made for each other♥️
Awe Man! He’s a good one!!!! Love me a good sappy man! He’s Also one of the best dressed on the show!!! Fellas take notes!
He’s not the only hand crafted one! His HUSBAND was hand crafted for him!
He's looking sharp.
I love this man's work. What an extraordinary actor. So happy for Colman Domingo's success.

What an elegant interviewee! Does he name EVERYONE he's currently working with? Way to share the limelight!
Not everyone because he missed Halle Bailey for The color purple but it's not a big deal at least he cared to mention some of the cast
Stephen is a class act. 🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂
One of the classiest entrances I’ve seen on his show.
Recently found out about him by watching fear the walking dead. Man, what an actor he played that role so well. Strand was a complex character but couldn’t help but being drawn to him.
I'm so glad he got a nomination!
Having grown up in Berkeley, down the street from a Walgreens, Colman's story hit home ❤️
very cool 😊
I was also in DC on 8/28/1963. Small World, Stephen ❣️
Champagne and Oysters!!! Dang Stephen! Joy, joy, joy… 🫶🏼 🥂
Great interview and beautiful soul. 🙏🏾😊
Damn his suit is fire
I loved his appearance on Lucifer, it was one episode but the man has such soul and presence!
Colman is a phenomenal actor I love him sm
What a class act.
i haven't watched euphoria bc I can't handle intense shows rn but this man has a lovely vibe and an adorable meet cute with his husband 💚💚😊
Worked with Colman…everyone needs a man like this in their life!
Started paying attention to this guy when he started doing Zola, the Candyman reboot, and Euphoria all at the same time.
I feel as if I was blessed to peek into a beautiful private conversation - Thanks again Stephen & nice to finally learn more about you, Colman (I feel that I can call you both by your first names now)
This guy is absolutely magnetic. What a presence.
Beautiful human

What In He'll Are Talking About Hot Ass Mess 🤔🤔😃
That was delightful!
He is going to be a WONDERFUL Unicron! I'm super excited.
Colman is pretty cool. Down to Earth ❤️🔥🔥
Awesome Interview. Much love, Colman.🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Homie looks fly AF
Really hard not to have a man crush on Colman, as smooth as he is. Damn.
I mean it’s understandable if his husband literally fell in love with him just by wordlessly walking past him😂
I don’t think any of us blame his husband for falling in love with him on the spot like that😂 I think we ALL fell in love with him immediately too!
If Respect, kind, Smooth, human being was a pic!!!❤❤❤😊
I had wet eyes the whole time. He seems like such a great human and he deserves every bit of success coming to him.
What a lovely man ...wasn't aware of him ...off to look up his work & indulge
SC...a Class Act!

Bro this guy is voicing Unicron!
I hope he's good
Beautiful convo 🥰🥰🥰

Love Colman’s vibe, he just seems like a genuine person and i cannot wait to see his performance in The Color Purple
What a beautiful human. His love story touched me deeply. Truly magical.
He's a talllllll drink of water! Love him!
You know him from Passing Strange, The Scottsboro Boys and A Boy and His Soul..... Stephen don't ignore all his amazing stage work!

that's thoughtful .. and got my mouth watering... :)
I think you're about to change my life, and I love you.
5 star service at the Late Show.
This was so damn cute 🥰🥰🥰
💚💚💚💚
man stephen you're the best 😍
If his energy would be a color, it would be named classic!
Colbert you are wonderful, and just nice 😊
What a magnificent presence this man has.
Service, is love made visible .
I have borrowed that phrase , to be used liberally from now on.
I have only ever seen him on the episode of "Lucifer" he appeared in almost six years ago. He was just incredible in it as the priest who befriends Lucifer. He's obviously an incredible person because I remember Tom Ellis, the star, gushing about working with him.
I love Colman so much. I'm proud of his work. I'm proud of how kind and thoughtful he is. I'm proud we both get to be part of the LGBTQ community.
Lucky me the home I just did buy did come with cats ( yes I started to feed them ) ..one is this male slick cat by walking his feed barely touch the ground ..as we searched for a name we found it.
Domingo 😉🐿️
They forgot to honor him for his role in the new Candyman. Great actor
Love every single part of this 💖
Well deserved nomination, he's riveting on Euphoria!
This is too much... imma cry.
That has to be the single most adorable love story of all time. No one Can deny god crafted this man’s husband in the heavens and sent him to meet him in the most poetic way possible♥️

Yessssss color purple musical! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

Very true throughout the show I was so drawn to him because no matter what he did and as selfish it may seemed he just wanted stability and his love for Alicia is beautiful.
The best part is, Colman playing Strand is no different than playing himself. That’s why it worked so perfectly.
OMG HE MET HIM THRU CRAIGSLIST MISSED CONNECTIONS?!?!? I can't believe that actually worked and it wasn't a serial killer
Stephen Colbert colman Domingo charlemagne oyster awesomeness job
That fit is drip
Colman Domingo aka Mr. Victor Strand
I haven't watched the other shows mentioned, I only know him from "Fear the Walking Dead" as Victor Strand who seemed like a rich self absorbed A$$hole at 1st but later became a likeable character 😁
Ok so he is from the bay area now I get the champagne oyster thing.
What a beautiful love story
I’m loving the Billie Ocean Vybz!!! Fabulous!!!
I'm surprised this is his 1st nomination. He has been carrying that show "Fear the Walking Dead" for quite a few seasons now.
I was just about to say that. I only watched 2 seasons of the show, but he was definitely a highlight
Such a good character and he fits the role perfectly
Strand has come along way!!!!! 😭😭😭👊🏻😎
looks like hes still playing Victor aboard the Abigail PreApocalyptic LA! 😎😉
