The worst part is for Rodney, being 'mine-rrr' normally means he's even less likely to be able to play it, because he never holds games for more than a couple weeks at a time :)
Wait, you can play games twice? This changes everything. I was going through a similar line of thinking this week as I was pulling games off my shelf that I planned to sell and was left with a mix of some "favorite" games, some light games that are easy to get played, some games that don't have much value, and the handful of games that Lindsey knows. My shelf looks empty, and a lot of my "favorites" of the past that are still there haven't been played in a long time. Also, I think my number of unplayed games easily outnumbers the amount of games that I really love currently on my shelf. In addition to that, with our group of friends that are all really into the hobby, I could not buy a game for a long time and always have something new (or old) and great to play. My top 1k "goal" obviously keeps me looking to buy/sell games, but there are soooo many games I've played that I would love to play 20 more times. I think the looking, collecting, buying, etc is in some ways not a great thing. At the same time, it's a source of enjoyment on it's own for me. Discovering new things and getting excited to try them out is fun. No one tells their kids that they shouldn't be excited walking into a toy store (not that those exist anymore) or not get hyped up on Christmas Eve/Morning. That said, I generally play my games before I sell them and you should too! Let's all call in sick next Friday and play TI4
Thanks for the Dale of Merchants shoutout! I agree with your new stance: get and own games to play them. If a friend owns something, I don’t need to own it myself unless I see myself wanting to play said game a lot with a different group. Just owning gets tiresome for me fast. Still, different strokes for different folks. Nothing wrong in wanting to enjoy the collection aspect of our hobby. 😊
Your video has inspired to buy more games that I probably won’t play. It drives my beautiful wife crazy, but she continues to put up with my craziness for over 40 years. I’m mostly a collector and when I leave this earth, my two sons have promised to rent a dumpster and take care of my collection of games ( 2500+ including expansions) and books (1000+) so as not to burden my wife with disposal. I do shed a tear at that prospect, but can be a cruel world. Gotta go, I have a date with the Cardhaus home page.
Andy NO! We have a large group that will divert them from that dumpster in no time! But enough of that anyways and cheers to many more years of you filling up that incredible room!
Your version of Radlands is that for me. I know you would let me borrow it, but dang I want it! Also, let me know when we are playing TI4 ( please no expansion!)
Favorite quote from this: "It could be mine-rrrr."

You really need to have a friend who is a collector that you can sell games to. Hint hint. Unless you're actually looking for trades.
Are you selling?
@@caffeineandcardboard1536 No! I'm the collector. I don't know where you're selling, it's never where I look to buy.
