Great video! Just confirms my pre-existing views that Dr. Knizia is amazing, and still one of the best designers out there. Thanks to him for sharing his insights here, and congrats to you guys for the chance you got to talk with a legend.
Wow the auction mechanic (top 2 bidders pay but only the highest wins) that he riffed on towards the end is very intriguing and I'd love to see a game designed around it! It's also interesting that you are both therapists by trade. I'd love to see more interviews or discussion about the intersection of board gaming and therapy. How do you feel about Cockroach Poker, a delightful game that is fundamentally about mental abuse and bullying?
I’m for it! Actually we both have some experience with gamefying our work (though I know we try not to lean too heavily on it) but a social deduction game could absolutely feed into a fruitful conversation about what it feels like to be lied to, to believe a person who is lying, to assume someone is lying when they’re telling the truth. Often more engaging than discussion alone. My card really is a stink bug though… I’m serious.
Wonderful interview. Well done on a great job.
Excellent interview, guys, very exciting!

What a wonderful opportunity you both had. That was fun! Thank you for sharing. Mike Delisio nicknamed Mille Fiori "Ganz Schön Knizia".
How did you guys pull this off?
Real answer: we asked nicely.
We are having fun with this little project but also want to be ambitious :)

Update: Ra came today. Still my favorite game.
