Going to be a LONG ROAD AHEAD | Shed To House
Hello everyone. We want to thank everyone for the support we received over the past week. Thank you all. Lillian has officially been rescued for a week now. There are some issues , but nothing that we can't handle. Roxane finally got to do something she has been waiting to do for years. We added a huge upgrade in the green house. Thank you all for being here, we appreciate you.

My nephew and his wife rescued a dog that had suffered a head injury. She was blind from the brain swelling, but after a couple of months, the swelling subsided and her sight came back. She lived a long normal life. I am hoping the same for Lillian. Please keep the updates coming. I know she is in the best place for healing fully.
So glad Lillian is feeling better ❤❤❤
Hello Sweet Roxanne!! I Pray Lillian will make a Full Recovery 🙏 ❤❤❤
Hooray Lillian. We all love you. Thank you Rox for keeping us updated.
She is blessed to have been found and back home with you. Her rescuers are heroes and the love and care amazing friends.
Dig a little down under the drain pipe, put some gravel and dig a shallow trench to drain the water to the tomato plant area and fill it with gravel. That will prevent erosion under the shed from draining water and allow the water an easy out.
Keep it going Lillian!
Loved this ! My tomatoes are just flowering. Different zones always amaze me 🫶🇨🇦Saskatchewan
I'm so happy she is back where she belongs!! Hurray!!! I'm so glad she is improving!!
Rox. As a former nurse, had I had a patient with the physical and emotional trauma Miss Lillian has had, I'd be pleased as punch with such rapid progress in just a week. That's thanks to everyone involved with finding her, Syd's excellent emergency care to getting Lillian home to her familiar surroundings and family. Im confident she'll do very well in her recovery with ya'll to carecfor and encourage her.
Hi 👋 Rox. Thanks for sharing with us about Lillian she's so cute glad she's safe. 😇😇💕
The sink is a fantastic idea. I'd seal up around the water pipe to keep those darn squash bugs OUT! Lilian is doing much, much better at home with her family! ❤
That's a great idea and I would also put diatomaceous earth all over the floor in there.
I'm absolutely over the moon that lilian is back with you. She's so sweet. Thanks for the update Rox ❤
I am so thankful along with so many others, so thankful. Thankful Lillian was found and home and doing so well in such a short time. Thank you for all the updates. You'll never hear me say pet Spider!!!
The sauce looks great!!! So glad Lillian is doing better and better. Good things take time.
Thanks for the update on Lillian!!! My prayer is that she will get back to her old self!!!! If not, she will be loved regardless!!!!!!!
It's still early days for Lillian. Whatever does happen with her recovery, she is loved and secure in her home. Good luck.
You can waterbath tomatoes sis, they don’t require pressure. Makes it a little easier. 35 minutes for pints, and 45 for quarts at a rolling boil. Great job!
I'm happy to see that Lillian is back home. Familiar people, pets, sounds, and smells will help her heal. Prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
Have you thought about a fall garden? All the things we normally plant can be started indoors. They talk about the best varieties to plant. I have been watching channels on extended growing season. Living in Southern California for almost fifty-six years, I was able to garden year round. Now, in Central Texas for seven and a half years, I have to learn how to garden differently.
I should mention lilly will be fine. I am sure the stress got to her. Just keep loving on her. 😊❤
Im happy for you and Lillian. It took my Oliver about 2 weeks to recover from being lost for 4 hours. He is 18 and is my heart. I left him at my daughter's home while we went to the store. When we got back he was no where to be found. Hes blind and is hard of hearing. I was in shock . We started searching. He walk to a grassy spot. He was in shock and very nervous for at least 2 weeks. It was such a scary time for all of us. My heart is with you.
Thanks for the update on Lillian. She looks so much better than when Syd first found her. Still praying she eventually fully recovers but no one will ever know what that precious little girl endured those days she was missing. Your sauce looked good.
Love the smell of canning tomatoes😊

When pressure canning you should always do a full canner to avoid what you mentioned, broken jars. Just fill extra jars with water. Side benefit is you now have sterilized water.
Hello. So Happy to see Lillian. One Day at a Time.
The Garden is doing great. Congrats.
The Greenhouse looks great.
Love and Blessings
Great job Roxanne!
Rox,thank you for the update on precious Lillian.
I believe she will make a full recovery, plenty of time and love.❤
Sending amazing vibes and much love ya'lls way.❤
Lillian is looking so much better. Hope that with time she will continue to get back to her self or be happy with the new normal. Roxane, the tomato sauce looks delicious!!

I, too, have had
Same rain as you. Last night and most of the day. 10pm quiet now.
Welcome home
Lillian. Takes time healing.

Thats a ton of squash bugs! Ive made the choice that I need my vegetables for the winter so Ive chosen to use Seven dust. No its not organic anymore but I absolutely need the squash and cucumbers abd brussel sprouts. The rest 9f my garden seems fine.
Everyone has to decide for themselves what they are willing to do.
I just love your beautiful house!
Rox when canning tomatoes just core them cut them up put in pot with a little water in bottom cook them when have way cooked use your hand blender you don’t have to peel them.
Lillian looks great
Thanks Roxanne for the update
I'm so happy Lillian is doing better. I'm so happy for you and your family. And she's happy to be home and I know that y'all are too. ❤
Looks like you needs some marigolds in the garden area too.
In the past i have simply parboiled the tomatoes. when the tomatoes were removed from the water the skin simply peeled away. the success of this technique may depend on the type of tomatoes. So glad that your dog is doing better.
I'm so proud that you accomplished a goal! It's a great feeling!! And I'm so happy to see you smiling again after last week!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
Glad to hear about Lilian we missed her. I would take all the green out from the squash bugs and burn the leaves vines etc. That way they are not in your soil.
I’ve heard this year has been a bad year for cucumbers and squash.
Next year will be better. You did all you could do.
Blessed little Lillian. She’s a fighter and we love her.
Blessings to you all.
Rox you have such a kind Soul. Lilian is very Lucky to have you as her Mommy. Prayers and Blessings
Lillian I fell in love with and I'm hoping that you dont mind!! She's just so precious!! I'm a big animal lover but there's something special about this little girl!! ❤ Thanks for the update Roxanne!! ❤ Mamma Carolyn
Yummy!!! 🥰🎶❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I have PTSD pray for Lillian
Thank you Rox for the update on Lillian. I have trouble with horn worms eating my pepper leaves. Ant I really love the green house. Wash tub is going to be awesome. Glad to have you guys getting back into the groove..
Love the garden sink. You may want to consider a splash guard/water directer to prevent the water eroding the ground under the drain. And, yay, Lillian! Great progress girl! Keep up the path to health!
Love seeing Lillian get better. Seven dust works really good on the squash bugs and other bugs in gardens and flower beds. When I peel tomatoes I put them in the deep fat fryer for about 15 seconds then roll them in paper towels and the peel falls off. I've never tried the boiling method.
Praying for Lillizns complete recovery
It's good to know Lillian is improving day by day. Thank you for keeping us informed about her. Making and canning your own tomato sauce is exciting. I'm happy for you that you could accomplish that goal for yourself.
So happy Lillian is improving 🥰 Great job on the garden & making sauce!! We just processed 17 pints of dill pickles.
I'm so glad Lillian is home and doing better.
So glad little Lillian is doing some better. Heat exhaustion does affects the brain so it will take time for her to recover. I have never seen an infestation of squash bugs that bad before..Rox, pull all the plants with the bugs on them and burn them, then treat the soil with diatomaceous earth which is organic.. At the end of the garden season till the soil and keep debris out of the beds….the cold will kill a lot of the bugs if it gets cold enough. Hopefully you won’t have as much trouble next year.
I am so proud of you for trying to do the best you can.
Thanks for the update on Lillian :) That’s great news on your sweet baby girl.
You should be very proud with yourself!!! With all the work you put into your garden and all the produce you harvest you are able to accomplish a goal of making your own tomato sauce. Great job Rox!!!
The heat did her bad but on the bright er side she's in recovery mode 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
My grandmothers sister Eleanor Smith Monahan had her husband build two hot houses on her property but one was hers and the other was my grandmothers to use!! They were always in the garden or hot houses doing things and loved being there watching them both!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤ Sending blessings to Lillian!! Mamma Carolyn
Looks Great !
You're doing an amazing job with Lillian with your love and determination she will make a full recovery as best her brain will allow
I can't remember what channel I was watching last week, but they were saying the way to avoid squash bugs is to wait until they're gone for the season to plant your squash. I don't know much about gardening but between the greenhouse and your extended growing season, seems like that approach would work. I'm jealous about your sauce. Nice job.
Captain Jack 's the best No Bugs for squash bugs! Nothing else works!
I used seven's Dust For Vegetables And It Keeps All Bugs Off
Prayers for Lillian ❣️❣️
Rox u need to put the cloth screens over ur plants after planting in the spring, to prevent the squash bugs.
Your spider "Fred" is a female Orb Spider. The males are quarter smaller than the females. Once they have mated, the female will kill and add the male to her larder.
They are good to have in your garden.
You should be proud of yourself. Living in Northern Ontario, I had a huge Garden and did lots and lots of Canning of Everything. I loved it but now I am unable to do much. Keep going you are doing just great
YAAYYY 🍅 sauce. CONGRATS!
Good job on the sauce it looks delicious.
Good to see Roxane happy again.
So happy that Lillian is doing better! 😊❤
Guys, we have the same sink in our basement. We use a few mop buckets to collect from the drain and pour that water in our garden.
Well done! you should be proud too what a great feeling, growing your own produce and having the benefit of bottling what you have grown. Having your very own fresh eggs, poultry , and rabbit meats is the best way to live a healthy and productive lifestyle. One more reason to really luv you Rox you are such a sweet and talented inspiration for young women who watch you both, building your homestead. BIG luv from OZ xxox. BTW very happy to see little Lilian making positive steps to a great recovery.
I am really happy that you have Lillian back home with you now and I hope that she continues to get better and I hope that while she couldn’t be found that she didn’t have a stroke from being out in the heat without any water
Your love for Lilian is just what she needs. So happy for you guys having her back. You rocked those tomatoes..I almost could smell them...good job Roxanne 😀
Well wishes for Lillian. Sweet green house by the way. Nice video.
Congratulations on canning. 🎉
So thankful that Lilian is home and awesome canning video.
Drip irrigation is nice.
Companion planting
Attract predatory insects with plants that deter squash bugs, such as marigolds, nasturtiums, mint, and bee balm.
I had a lot of things thst didnt take off. It happens. Enjoy what you are blessed with.
❤❤❤
I just canned tomatoes today..Tomatoes are easy to peel when you score them and put them in very hot water. Then in ice bath. Good luck.❤
Got Lillian in our prayers.
Hope you're able to harvest most of the tomatoes
Nice looking sink in the green house.
So happy for you
Positive vibes for Lillian.❤ You are doing really good on your gardens. As long as you are getting produce that's all that matters. ❤
Good job on the pizza sauce Rox. I could almost smell it. Thank for showing us Lillian. She’s so sweet.
I like your sink in the greenhouse. Good work Anthony. Take care.
Thank you so much for the update on Lillian. I am so happy that she is home again.
Prayers for Lillian full recovery and back to her ole self.❤ Glad she is back home ❤❤
So happy Lilian is doing better. Roxanne try planting Catnip plants next to your Squash. A friend told me about it & it helped keep the bugs away. It really worked for me for alot of veggies in my garden
Sweet Lily ❤ the sauce looks delicious!! Great to see you in the kitchen. The greenhouse sink is going to get a lot of use over the years.
I don’t know but I was wondering if you put a chicken in ur garden to eat the bugs. Prayers to Lillian 🙏🏼🥰 frozen tomatoes, just let then defrost. Freezing them actually cooks them, easy peel. You can dry the tomato peels and powder them, put back into ur sauce, it thicken it.
Way to go Roxanne....it looks delish. I'll be watching for your report on Fridays pizza. Your greenhouse is making progress too. Thanks for the visit with all of us. See you all next time.
Happy to hear update on Lillian. Sand filter system interesting. Sink is going to be super handy in greenhouse.
Lillian is a beautiful little girl. Prayers going up for her.
Congrats Roxanne on your tomatoe sauce!!
Thank you for the updates on Lillian. Even though she is having a few issues, think how safe she feels to be back home!!!❤❤❤❤❤
We use those sinks to wash clothes especially big blankets and quilts by hand with a wash board. Great for soaking whites or kitchen towels.
After they thaw out the frozen tomatoes peel easy!
I’ve had good luck with the DE but you have to cover the plants. I apply twice a week and after rain as soon as the plants dry. If you’ve learned something different, please share! Thanks Roxanne. I’m still learning too!
dry the skins and grind them to a powder , great for seasoning sauces and gravy
I got this recipe from a friend. No need to peel, just roast and blend. I freeze mine, but you can also can it. The taste and smell is out of this world. The more garlic the better, and it's not overpowering at all. I've made it so much I don't really measure, just cut up tomatoes and start roasting. You can also add peppers to it while roasting. Easy peasy!
ROASTED TOMATO SAUCE
15 cloves of garlic, peeled
8 lb ripe tomatoes, halved or quartered
5-10 medium onions, quartered
1 c fresh herbs chopped (rosemary, Italian parsley, oregano, basil, thyme
¼ c olive oil
½ tsp salt
Black pepper
3-4 T sugar, optional
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Peel and chop 5 cloves of garlic, leave the remaining whole. In a large roaster, gently toss together and roast for 25 min. Gently stir. Roast for another 25 min. Roast another 45 min or until tomatoes are softened and broken down into a sauce with a golden crust on top. Remove from oven and taste for seasoning. If slightly bitter, add sugar and stir. Pour sauce into clean, sterile jars. Can or freeze. If you prefer, a smoother sauce you can blend it. Stores 5 days in the fridge or 10 months in the freezer.
I do this, too. When I can the sauce, though, I omit the olive oil and add that when I open my cans (if I need it.) It lasts longer on the shelf without oil in it. Best tip ever given to me. I don't even peel my tomatoes, because it thickens the sauce naturally. It's much easier since the Immersion Blenders came out. Been doing it ever since. Also, I usually cook in my electric roaster on a low setting all night long or as long as needed to get it as thick as I need.
She's home with her family who she loves unconditionally as they with her
I'm so happy Lillian's home with you Roxanne I know how it is if I lost my babies I would be the same way you were girl
Your tomato sauce looks amazing! So good during the winter months espically. Being able to enjoy the fresh tomatoes all year is FABULOUS!! So happy to see Lillian on the mend! You will enjoy your new sink, great idea! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
