- A recreation of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 voting using the new format introduced by SVT for the 2016 contest. With this format, two sets of points are given out; the jury and the televoting.

It is awesome! I'm also from Germany and I think, it was clearly the best song in that year. And it's also my favorite ESC song of all time. ^^

Fantastic job with the 'pause' at the douze points area! That took a lot of time and you made it look easy. I believe Christer Bjørkman ( executive producer of Melodifestivalen and this year's Eurovision) was shocked at the fact that there were 2 null points in the final. And he wants to make the voting more exciting and quicker. The Swedish Melodifestivalen uses the same format during their final. Their televoting uses points from a percentage of all the televotes and SMS's. So Germany and Austria were in fact not empty handed.. at least one person liked them!

BTW according to an SVT source, they're not going to announce all the lower televote points individually - they will be flashed on screen together and only the top 10 or so will be announced separately
+Pop Unlimited Oh no! I had hoped they wouldn't do this as I love the suspense, but I suppose it would take a lot of time to announce all 26 countries.

I agree with the new system, but since the televoting results will be combined another change should also take place. Each country should give 1-26 points and not 1-12 points. This way all countries will receive points, a country that takes the eleventh or the twelfth position will receive more points from a country that takes the 25th or 26th side. So, each viewer's vote will be stronger and the diaspora or neighbor votes will be eliminated, thus we will have a fairer result.
viewerlife I absolutely agree - the 12 points system was made up in 1975 - when just 19 Countrys participated

The reason behind capping the points to the top 10 is
1. Simplicity
2. As you go down the favorite chain, you essentially think of them the same. Little difference with how you feel about 20th vs 26th, so why bother ranking them?
Imagine the number of points which would be awarded to the winning country - more or less 1000?!
@@valentinaislandsofficialch4539 We will use to it. Before 1974 the winner has less than 100 point and in 90's we had winners with just 130 points.
Much better system than in the real competition! You se, Austria and Germany ended up with 0 points, but here Austria got 40 points..
just thank to the dead brains "juries", but the song is bad and deserved last place ... so the old system was sooo much better to avoid this kind of situation

The results would still be a bit different since by current rules, San Marino would have a fabricated televote result whereas the Macedonian and Montenegrin jury discqualification would have to be dealt with somehow in order to produce a valid jury vote.
2015's voting was truly ironic. The televoters chose Italy's not commercial song, sung 100% in Italian without gimmicks, while the juries, who are supposed to award quality, chose the trashy EDM entry from Sweden. Truly a reverse Warholian experience, in Lady Gaga's own words. "Heroes" winning was probably one of the biggest tragedies in the recent Eurovision years, no wonder it was overplayed by the radios all over Europe - but not at all here in Italy - and yet it failed to achieve commercial success outside of Sweden. Where is Manny now? Fads will be fads. At the same time, Il Volo are completing a successful worldwide tour, with their album charting in the United States and other overseas countries. Because in the end, talent ALWAYS prevails.

I’m very happy we had the old system! Seeing the UK come last would be horrible. Still at least Albania got a better place,Elhaida was my favourite!

Sweden had a realy good song and i liked the stage performance but Italy would have been the winner of the audience and that is a little bit unfair but anyway we cant change it...

There's a mistake here, the Israeli jury gave 12 points to Italy, not Latvia.
Italy should have a total of 550 points (still in 2nd place) and Latvia should have 349 points, putting it in 6th place behind Australia in 5th.
Shouldn't Lithuania have placed above Slovenia as Lithuania received more televotes?

I hate this voting system, they should at least make the spokespersons announced 8-10-12 and not just 12. But seeing how Sweden was 3rd in jury vote and nearly last in televote in 2013, and seeing how the juries overrate them, I can see why they wanted to do this pointless change. If we Italians had won last year as we deserved we'd still have a sensible voting system, ugh.

what did you use for the sanmarinese televote? apparently the televote comes from other countries for the real ESC, they used only juries before 2016. great simulation btw

We will see if this really makes a difference in the end... Still it is half jury / half telvoting. It's not a move towards televoting. It is a rather a move to suport the extremes. Absurd jury choices or absurd telvoting in some country due to diaspora are now even strengthened. The good thing is that the jury must reveal their choice now. But I like that Germany would not be last :-)
+Moritz Bonn There is actually a significant difference, because juries only rank their top ten, removing their ability to drag an act down. For example, in 2014 the UK televoters gave 12 points to Poland, but the UK jury ranked Poland last, and as a result Poland got no points from the UK. This year, televotes are not cancelled out by jury votes.
+TOMMY This is true but I think exactly this is the problem. The UK jury actually corrected the extreme choice of the UK televoters (there are many people from Poland living in the UK). The jury voting was way closer to the overall voting than the UK televoting. I personally think that rather those songs should benefit which convince the public and the jury. The new system however rather supports either extreme jury votes or extreme televotes.

Latvia was the real winner this year imo but didn’t Estonia actually get 7th and Latvia got 6th? Would be swapped with Norway and Australia
The jury points in this has a lot of mistakes
Macedonia and Montenegro hadn't juries 'coz of unfairy voting, there is televoting instead jury votes in these countries. But Eurovision have another rules, jury's points are making from results of other juries in situations like that, i think guy didn't know this

Petropoulos Giorgos Oh I see! The televoting points are not countries voting, but countries receiving points. For example, the total of all 40 countries points for Israel was 104, so they get that amount of points in one go. Naturally, as non-qualifiers aren't in the Final, they have no points to receive. Hope this helped!

Anyway I totally agree, Latvia had the best song in 2015 and should have won. It's actually my favorite song of the entire decade.

Why Estonia and Norway received more points than Israel and Georgia? Israel and Georgia were so much better. Better performance, better songs... Still don't get it.
Israel and Georgia did much better than Norway in the televote. Israel was 7th, Georgia was 13th and Norway only 17th. The juries however gave loads of points to Norway which is why they did so well overall.
