Redistribution of Moments

The design moments in reinforced concrete beams, frames and structures shall be obtained by redistribution of moments in indeterminate beams and frames. Analysis of reinforced concrete beam include two primary steps, elastic analysis and redistribution of moments for various load combinations to get maximum positive and maximum negative moments. The present video describes in depth the concept of redistribution of moments as per IS 456:2000 clauses and illustrates the procedure of analysis with two examples of fixed beam and continuous beam.
