She changed my life….bought my first house aged 19 and my own business 20 years later. Her policies enabled me to do this. I worked hard and it paid off. Unlike my parents I was able to work my way out of a council estate and avoid factory work. She enabled me to have choices. The best prime minister in my lifetime.
If Lady Thatcher was a bad leader, why could she win THREE the general elections? She maybe didn't do what we want, but she definitely did what we need.
The Tories are financed by big, but corrupt / fraudulent corporate companies...Financing their election campaigns...Being exempt / excused then getting away with paying little, or NO TAXES.!! She was an “Iron Lady” alright. Ihav’nt lived in the UK since Macmillan was PM. But she was admired around the world. I believe that if anyone else was PM in 1982 they would have twiddled their thumbs and nothing would have been done. Politicians can’t please everyone but everyone needs to get out and vote! Here in Australia voting is compulsory and all elections are held on saturdays so there is no excuse for anyone not to vote. $50 fine in you don’t.
And thank u to the workmen on the scaffolding taking their hard hats off (13:50), yes, she was for the working man, thank u for treating her with that respect!
That's not a hat that's a safety helmet which they must wear at all times on site by law. They're not being disrespectful they're following health and safety law and also not endangering their lives.
WOW, what a great send off for a great lady, thank u Maggie, u made me rise from working class to where I am today and u made Britain great again, no-one will ever follow u, u were amazing!
Years ago, I studied PM Thatcher's policies and economic theories in my Macroeconomics course, learned about how she led the UK to walk out of the shadow of stagflation. She was a great Prime Minister, and her pass away is a great loss to the people who love her.

Hey, Will! Thank you for recognising Margaret's positive attributes. She was, indeed, a remarkable woman. Sadly, men within her cabinet, who should have known better, played the Brutus card and stabbed her in the back - not appreciating her role in bringing the USA and USSR to the bargaining table and ending the cold war. The Russians, admiringly, called her the Iron Lady. Such a great description as to who she truly was. Alas a majority of my countrymen, who were not even born at the time, cynically, pour scorn and vitriolic comments upon her memory - pity them! For, they do not know what they say! Kindest regards, Bill
Hi, Kuri. Sorry to learn that you think like that! Somewhere, sometime, someone has either hurt you or persuaded your mind to bare such thoughts. Iv'e said my piece on Margaret Thatcher, and, you have explained yours! So I guess that makes us even. Take care, Bill.
Excellent filming and sound. You totally caught the occasion and all the background work the military have to do to put on the precision parades they do.
Also I miss how back in the old days the police would actually face the procession instead of stare at the crowds and have their backs to it. Something about having your back to the queen or a coffin doesn't sit right with me.
Regretfully, times have changed. Referring to who might be in the crowd. I do agree with your feelings about "back to the queen or a coffin". Tradition is tradition.
Baroness Margaret Thatcher and President Ronald Reagan . What a great team for 'Freedom.' All gone now with little hope for kids & grandchildren . TY Britain . She gave it all .!!
THE IRON LADY she was! Such strength and ability coupled with great charm is rarely seen in the political world. She commanded respect whether or not one agreed with her! Ronald Reagan certainly thought very highly of her and so do I.
Whatever you think of her, she would never have let happen what is happening to our Armed Forces right now. Devastation. Wait and see. "Reservists" (TA) being used on the front line? Regular Soldiers being made redundant in the name of cutting costs. Disgusting. War on the cheap.
Mate the only reason we won the Falklands war was because the Navy hadn't cut the ships that she'd told them to cut when it started. 6 months later and we'd have been fucked!
+Marshall Smith™ Love her or hate her. She was the most powerful Prime Minister since Churchill. And even in death her shadow frightened people. So much of what she did was bad and so much was needed.
Chris Davies I personally don't feel one way or the other about her as I don't know enough about her to feel entitled to criticize but, I will say her reputation does precede her and from what little I do know I see no real faults when stacked against other political figures.
Sorry - what you mean? "The body in the box" as you so indelicately put it is Baroness Margaret Thatcher - one of the great leaders of the 20th century. Was she right to declare war on Argentina? Who knows? But what brilliant balls!! God i love her. Principle is everything. God bless her spirit.

Controversial? Yes. Did I agree with her policies as an American? No. But did she seem like a nice person? Yes, after all she was a good friend to my 2nd favorite President Ronald Reagan of whose likes we could use in our world. Not to mention she was one of if not THE first woman to be British prime minister who clearly had good relations with her fellow politicians. I think this was a good tribute to her, nothing too big like a state funeral but big enough to get the message across.

I have never heard one negative comment about Margaret Thatcher in our country, the USA.. Our laws are based on English law so I've been told. Many times I do not agree with the way they do things but we seem to follow their example. I wish we had a Margaret Thatcher. There is a good chance that Hillary Clinton could be our next president and this would be two disasters in a row. Her motto will be, "Stand by your man".
