Good covers of waits are hard to come by. They should not imitate but mst be done with outmost respect to the man’s transcendent legacy. This is good. I like the chord elaborations without straying from the heart of the song.
I had the luck to work down the street from Ray Crawford who played the solo on Tom's album for this tune. Ray picked up the guitar after losing a lung from smoking and couldn't blow the sax anymore. Ray also worked with Jimmy Smith. Check your record collections. Won't get the credits on spotify...
