I felt that I could improve upon the last version in many ways such as adding a opening montage for example and improving the sound design to name a few in an effort to make the video as 'Perfect' as it can possibly be. I hope the added adjustments create a much more pleasing and enjoyable experience for you all! :D

Matt Reeves truly just understands Batman or at the very least he understands what his version of the Batman is. Not many movies can hold my attention anymore. I get bored and frequently my mind starts to wander. When I went to see this in theaters it held my full attention. Every minute I was glued. What’s even more surprising is that this is an almost three hour long film yet never was I bored. Only wanting more.
While I’m sure Matt will never read this I sure hope he gets the praise he deserves for directing this masterpiece

Also, if you were someone who didn’t know about his origin, this film presents it far better than the generic alley scene. You watch him empathize with the boy who just lost his father, you see there’s some sort of connection. Then, through the news report and Alfred’s reaction to the footage of the boy, you understand by the pure emotion in there performances that this wound is deep. And the fact that you never actually see the event happen allows your imagination to create the horror.

The Batman is my absolute favorite Batman movie. The soundtrack is absolutely amazing. The cinematography is beautifully terrifying. The cast is perfect. The atmosphere of the movie is chaotic, moody, and scary. But, at the end of the movie, its flipped on its head. Gotham transforms into a sunny, hopeful city, and its absolutely beautiful.

@eduardomurua6919 huh? This is arguably the most accurate Batman movie I've ever seen. I love the Nolan trilogy, but the Reeves movie is amazing. It actually shows Batman as a detective having to solve a mystery. The Riddler was a change I wasn't welcome about at first, but his execution in the movie was perfect. This movie takes inspiration from Batman: Years 1+2. This Bruce Wayne is meant to be young and inexperienced. I can't wait for part 2

This is a delightful piece. Really appreciate it.
I think what this film does so well is accentuate the things that make Batman the most intriguing Superhero. Batman, at his core, is a balance of opposites, a conjunction of opposing symbols, emotions, social dynamics, and archetypal metaphors. What this story does is zeroes in on one specific dynamic, the knife-edge Batman walks between hero and anti-hero. His partnership with Gordon represents the side of him that wants to be a hero, a protector. While his similarity to the Riddler shows us the anti-hero side, that doesn't want to fix the world, but punish it for hurting him. The hero in Batman is angry, but the anti-hero is wrathful. And wrath doesn't seek to fix anything, to repair, to heal. It takes pleasure in pain and destruction. Gordon may be angry, but the Riddler is wrathful. And Batman spends the movie on the edge, ever-tempted to indulge his wrath, to give evil-doers "what they deserve," regardless of the fact this this will fix nothing. The part of him that wants to make a difference is baffled that punishment isn't doing that. And at the climax of the film, he sees this, sees that punishing Gotham can't heal it. Not can it heal him. When he refocuses on helping Gotham, he feels a sense of fulfillment, and perhaps even a serenity he hasn't felt since the death of his parents.
In doing this, the film addresses the debate at the core of the character, whether Batman does good or not. Both sides are right. When he's trying to help people, he's a hero. But when he's punishing, torturing, sometimes (depending on the story) even murdering them, he's no hero at all.
And from here, all the other contradictions come into focus. It's important that Batman is a billionaire, because it accentuates the contradiction that he has everything but the one thing that matters most, the security of a loving family. The Riddler is right that Bruce Wayne's incredible privilege makes his suffering nothing in comparison to Edward Nashton's. But he's wrong too. They have both lost the same thing, the thing that wealth can't replace. Yet the comfort and ease of wealth can't compare to the unspeakable deprivation of poverty. But here, we see that Edward is only looking for divisions, not commonalities. Just as Batman seeks to separate himself from those he punishes, rather than finding connection and empathy with them.
Every aspect of Batman can be defined as a union of opposites. He's an ordinary person, yet superhumanly capable. He's supernatural, yet entirely human. Driven by self-centered compulsions, yet devoting his life to what he sees as a greater good. He's a monster who's very much a man, a criminal who's also a champion of law and order, the DC hero without powers who's the most powerful. When the character is shown not as one or another of these things, but both, then he becomes the captivating figure we love. I think he endures because he contains these contradictions. We connect the version we want, the hero or the anti-hero, the man above the law, or the man serving society. And of course, those who don't like Batman for being one or the other of these things aren't wrong either, they're just seeing half the picture.
I loved that the film examines that union of opposites. This is a Batman who can jump off of buildings and fly, and yet, his terror of doing so, and his very imperfect execution, makes you feel all the more what an extraordinary thing that is. He's a superman that's very much an ordinary man. And that contradiction is born out in every aspect of the film.
I'm reluctant to throw around the word "perfect" when it comes to art. Being perfect isn't the point. Perfection is for craft, when there's only one way of doing something. So I'd rather judge art for the presence of its qualities than the absence of flaws. That said, I agree that this is a perfect superhero film, in that it encapsulates what the "superhero" means perfectly. A superhero, from where I stand, is a person who becomes a living symbol for the virtue they strive for. That's why the costumes and iconography are an essential component. The symbol represents the character, and the virtue that character signifies. Batman, you might say, is the story of the meaning of the Bat symbol. And that story is more than just the act of fighting criminals, or saving Gotham. It's the story of the person who lost what matters most, and fell into darkness, but turned that darkness into a crusade to make the world a better place. All that is contained in the bat symbol. And this film encapsulates that "perfectly," if that's the right word.

Wow...This was such a beautiful read it is eloquently written I enjoyed every second of your writing brother!
I would like to pin-point the subject matter of 'opposites' that you examined very comprehensively might I add!
I myself also believe that's what makes Batman..Batman. As a character in many stories he vigorously rides that thin line of patience and all consuming rage which in itself can also be transcribed to Bruce Wayne.
He is a billionaire and can have anything he desires materialistically speaking yet what he yearns for the most is to have his family back something of which money can't ever resolve. In a sense he's stuck in a level of purgatory having to live with unbearable pain for the rest of his life and yet he manages to convert negative energy into something positive. The death of his family fuels him to be better which though somewhat extreme is an ideal for people to strive towards because the lesson is simple don't let pain consume you. It can very easily be simplified into 3 words...Understand, Develop and Overcome which Batman accomplishes time and time again.
Having everything and having nothing at all is a pit of sadness most of whom struggle to climb out of but Batman as an in idealogy is what gives Bruce Wayne's life meaning and purpose. It's what drives him to do good in a world surrounded by evil doers.
For example Batman Vs Superman for all it's flaws certainly got one thing right at the very least...
"You're not brave, Men are brave" - Batman
This quote outlines the purity of Batman as a Superhero. At the end of the day he's simply one man fighting injustice and in relation to our real world with the rise of Poverty and Corruption Batman as a character makes a stand for all us.
The best characters/stories have messages that can be applied to the real world for our own benefit and Batman without a doubt does just that! He inspires the best in us whilst also serving as a reminder to have self control.
This is what I believe Matt Reeve's 'The Batman' executes perfectly. As a director and storyteller he encapsulates everything Batman stands for as a character. Through Robert Pattinson you see a truly broken man trying his best to be better not just for himself but for a society that is crumbling before his very own eyes. I can't wait to see what Matt has in store for us when Batman 2 is released!
I'm sure he will delve even further into the complex mind Batman showing us a side of him that hasn't been captured yet which will make for an exhilarating experience :D
Thankyou for watching my friend and once again I found great joy in reading your thoughts! God bless :D

@@RealRayu I really appreciate your kind words. In my normal life, I don't have many truly nerdy friends willing to deep-dive into this kind of subject, so I deeply value what you do, and the conversations it engenders.
I've often thought of trying my hand at doing video essays, but by all accounts, the actual editing part is incredibly time-consuming. And the way creators like yourself pepper in random clips so boldly and cleverly to accentuate points, I can't even begin to wrap my head around how you make those choices, find the right shot, and make it all work. I also wish we could have seen more of him too! His version of Batman was really interesting in a sense that we see a man who has somewhat lost his way after years of mental torture after having lost his protege.
Furthermore in a more overarching sense I think the theatrical release of Justice League hindered Batman as a character because he's almost treated as a bad punchline as opposed to being a daunting figure.
In addition too the questionable casting choices didn't help the situation. An example being Jared Leto as the joker 😅 I think Willem DaFoe would have been the perfect antithesis to Ben Affleck's Batman...It would have brought out the best in him :D

Nolan's version of the dark knight was enthralling from beginning to end. I very much enjoyed the journey of Bruce Wayne especially it was nice to see him move on with life at the end of TDK:Rises by leaving the idea of Batman in the past a long with his past traumas. I also think the overall look of the film has a big effect because The Batman for example is quite dark looking and colors are minimalistic the complete opposite of animated movies that kids watch.

I loved The Batman at first, but the more I think about it, the more I think this movie is overrated as fuck. It has a great sound design, great image, a great atmosphere and a great Penguin. Batman is cool also, but not the best ever. However those elements aren't enough to credit it as a perfect movie. It has many script problems and drags a lot. And to compare Robert Pattinson to Robert Downey Jr. in 2008 is a bad joke.

I loved Robert Downey Jr as Iron man in 2008 the same way I love Robert Pattinson as Batman. I'm not saying one is better than the other mate...But in terms of Marvel characters in the MCU Iron Man is my absolute favourite!
Due to Robert Downey Jr being iron man for a long period of time it's hard for anyone to not be bias but I think with time Robert Pattinson and his version of Batman will be loved and revered by fans as one of the best iterations. The same way we all love Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man.
You mentioned many great aspects of the film such as the sound design and cinematography and perhaps the duration of the film was a tad bit too long for your taste but for me I thought it was paced really well and the structure of the narrative was excellent that being said I respect your opinion! Have a good day bud :D

Great video, but totally delusional. I do applaud your effort and you have a lot of talent obviously. But in the end, this was one of the worst batman movies I've ever seen. And I've watched the Batman movies from the 60's. Frankly I think Robert Pattison's acting is less than subpar. It was alright for preteen vampire stories I guess. But he is absolutely horrible in this role. I mean he isn't Val Kilmer bad (but Val who is an amazing actor just was completely wrong for the part). I'm glad that Pattison 's Batman will not be connected to the DCEU at all. And I understand why they are making a sequel Hollywood doesn't care about quality and the last movie did make a ton of money (though most people I talked to were extremely disappointed in the movie). But you know it's very hard to compare any other Batman to Christian Bale's batman who is really the only Batman you can compare Pattison to because the others were more campy and not as serious. Though I thought Michael Keaton was awesome for what the movies were at the time. But we all know that Kevin Conroy is the ULTIMATE BATMAN..... ;)

Thankyou mate for the rather kind gesture at the beginning 😅 Your comment comes across as a somewhat respectful roast...All that being said I really enjoyed reading your thoughts! 😁
As for your opinion on Robert as The Batman I myself felt the complete opposite and that's okay! Films in particular can illicit very different reactions. What I would like to point-out if I may is how the film incorporated a mystery element to the story which in the long run brilliantly depicted Batman as a detective. It is a crucial element past films glossed over. I found that side of the film to be really compelling.
You also happened to mention Christian Bale I found him to be completely mesmerising throughout the TDK trilogy. The stark contrast between Bruce and Batman is an under-rated aspect in my opinion and he executed it perfectly.
As for Val's depiction of Batman I think the less said the better 😂 Another idea we happen to agree on in is the simple fact that Kevin Conroy is indeed a legend! His amazing voice will forever be synonymous with the character of Batman!
He will be deeply missed ❤️

This version of Batman is still in its infancy my friend. Robert Pattinson's Batman still has much to learn which in itself is a fundamental aspect of the character as we can grow alongside him as he matures and slowly becomes the Batman we all know and love...There is beauty in the process and I do hope in the future you enjoy the journey that we are on as fans of the character :)
After all is said and done when you look back and see the progression of the character I believe it will all be worth it mate!

@@RealRayu I get its his first complex case as its the Riddlers debut in Gotham as a villain but with training and 2 years experience he's still terrible at stealth and combat and always walks into gunfire and knocks on the door to speak with his suspects. Batman may have armour but he will avoid gunfire with stealth and wit. There's a lot of things he does in the movie that are pointless or just out of character.

@@RealRayu Year Zero Batman in his 1st year is way more better than Pattinson in his 2nd. The main thing they had taken from the comic is the Riddler flooding Gotham. I do see the potential of Pattinson and want a 2nd movie. I believe it can only go up from here for the movies and the fact they haven't made the second movie by now shows they are taking their time which is good and hopefully be as big as TDK was to Batman Begins.
