Those MDG shots are $2000+ EACH... every MONTH!.... Crazy Expensive. This "Retail Cost" stipulation and "Donut Hole" is where these Insurance companies get you.... I had two done and Medicare will pay $6xx for lens replacement per eye, if you get basic cataract surgery and lens replacement. But, if you want to have vision improvement then the price is $1500 per eye. But, the $600 from Medicare doesn't carrier over to the vision fix.

What exactly do we have to share in with costs ? everything, even dr. visits? thanks again Do you have a list? These seems like it could be the biggest expense along with the 1600 deductible.

I was born with cataracts and wear contacts. As I get older, I typically need to get a new contact lens prescription every 5 years or so. I'm now getting ready to retire and go on Medicare. Would this cost of exam and contact lenses be covered by Medicare, or does that only cover contact lens expense IMMEDIATELY AFTER cataract surgery?
If it's a medical condition treating disease or conditions of the eyes, then it would be covered under Medicare Part B. Routine eye exams are not covered by Medicare.
