  • The Amazon jungle, also known as Amazonia, is the world's largest tropical rainforest, covering an area of over 5.5 million square kilometers across nine countries in South America, including Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. It is home to an incredibly diverse array of wildlife, including thousands of species of plants, animals, and insects, many of which are found nowhere else on Earth. The Amazon is also home to numerous indigenous communities, each with their own unique culture and traditions. The jungle plays a vital role in regulating the Earth's climate, producing about 20% of the world's oxygen, and supporting rainfall in the region. Unfortunately, the Amazon is facing unprecedented threats, such as deforestation, logging, mining, and climate change, which could have devastating consequences for the planet.
