    Your manometer can test pressure switches without running the inducer. The middle tube port on top connects to the monometer's pump. It also has 2 lead connections on top to connect to the PS terminals. You can manually increase the pump vacuum to verify if the PS is closing at the correct suction it's rated for.

    • @deanburke3041
      @deanburke3041 11 месяцев назад

      Vacuum pressure is very slight, a fraction of even 1/10 th " W.C., And... sometimes 2 or 3 switches at different miniscule vacuums for high& low fire. Then it may make sense to use a multiple port manometer. Even then, it may be inconclusive. Something else doing it.

    • @Cavett24
      @Cavett24 11 месяцев назад

      @deanburke3041 the tool creates the vacuum and increases by 1/100 wc. Then you can tell if your switch is or isn't closing (and reopening) at the designed vacuum for that specific switch. Using your mouth can potentially damage a good switch.

  • @ecaparts
    @ecaparts Год назад +1

    It’s not mentioned, but the reason why the PS wouldn’t close the first time even though similar negative pressure was observed both times is… the PS is vented. You need to overcome the pressure rating as well as having enough air flow volume. Using a tee fitting and leaving the PS connected would show a drastic result and exactly why the switch wouldn’t close originally with a restriction at the draft inducer port. 👍

    Grab yourself an arzel pressure hose T, then attach that to the end of the manometer tube, attach 1 additional hose to the T, leaving 1 exposed port on the T itself. Take the hose from your pressure switch and connect it to the last open port on the T. Depending on negative or positive pressure you are now able to measure draft while everything is running. Not talking shit on what he’s doing. Just letting everyone know there’s another way

      You can measure a vacuum in many ways. Inches of mercury is the least accurate way. Most measurements of a vacuums are done in microns, torr, and bar. Also a vacuum is literally negative pressure. Hence why you can measure a vacuum in negative psi as well. Which is a measure meant of pressure lol. Hell all of these measurements are measuring pressure either positive or negative.
