Thanks for promoting Toronto. I say the following with great respect >>> I love your wide-eyed open minded observations of all the little things most of us might miss. Living now in the G T A it is good to know about the best and newest food places. Thank you for a fun and nostalgic look at Toronto. #subscribed
One of the most impressive feats of gluttony I’ve ever witnessed was at a Jersey Mikes in Burbank. A guy ordered a giant sub but they accidentally made him a regular. He ate the regular while he waited for them to make him a giant sub and then he ate the giant sub. I was impressed.
😅 I think I could take care of a Giant, but not a Giant and Regular lol. I'll be honest though, we get smaller portions in general so I was a little taken aback by how large that sub is. It's like that bit from the Simpsons when he sees the giant Fosters in Australia.
love the video concept - congrats on 1 yr, on 4k, blessings for so much more in 2025 for you guys! I've haven't tried Jersey Mike's but I've tried the other 3 and all slapped. I'd pick those three over any sub chain I think but I guess I should try Jersey Mike's if nothing else, just to say "that's what I thought", haha!
Hey Clark, Wow thank you so much! We are so grateful to have you in our corner ❤ Wishing you and your channel all the love and growth this year too! We always look forward to your videos my friend! For sure give Jersey Mikes a try. We plan on checking out their Union Station location when it opens up. I think there are a ton of Tik Tok sandwich hacks to help make the experience better.
It's funny how often you hear "subscribe, comment" etc. I really want to help you guys grow though, so I pressed like, I'm subscribed and now I'll leave a comment!!! I grew up and had family that live in the building right beside the St. Lawrence market, so was spoiled. It's been a long time since I just hung around the T Dot though. You guys are reminding me that we have a pretty world class, awesome city so close!!! I'll be doing some tourist in my old city stuff this year thanks to your content! xoxo
What a wonderful couple you two make, and what an incredible idea you’ve come up with! Living in such a big city, you pass by so many places, and you can’t help but wonder-how does it taste? How is the experience? And what about the price? I don’t want to be overcharged, but I’m definitely in need for a delightful meal. What you both are doing is fantastic. What a nice presentation too 👏 and it’s truly inspiring. I often follow your lead, exploring the city, satisfying cravings, and discovering new spots based on your videos. You’ve given me such great ideas. Amazing, amazing work-congratulations to both of you! 👍🤗😁
What a kind and thoughtful comment! I am so happy to hear these videos help inspire. There are just so many incredible places to check out, it can be tricky to know whats worth it. What's the story/ experience like? Happy to hear you are also getting out there exploring and eating your way through the city. Thanks again for the compliments and support, again thats so sweet of you, thank you❤
Lambo's is the bomb! My order(s): A) Classic Combo; genoa salami, smoked ham, coppa, provolone, tomato, garlic aioli, red onion, iceberg lettuce, giardiniera, oil & vin, oregano and/or B) Turkey Swiss; Smoked turkey, swiss cheese, tomato, red onion, iceberg lettuce, honey dijon, mayo. So fresh. So goooood!
Thank you for the recommendation, I love hearing other people's orders ❤ I'm going to try your turkey recommendation. I have to say that roast beef was the best sandwich i think i've ever had!
Subs look great, you mentioned the Queen and Beaver on Elm Street, I was there while visiting Toronto in November. It’s a charming pub and the food was great. It was great food and great company.
Hey guys, glad to see there’s a Jersey Mike’s in the Toronto area now. York Mills was my old hood when I was growing up and maybe I should take a truck out there to try Jersey Mike’s. I love subs and have tried firehouse subs in Oshawa and the biscuit sub was incredible. Unfortunately, not all locations of firehouse subs are created equal, as the one here in Bolton didn’t live up to the delicious sub I had in Oshawa. The biscuit sub was just mediocre and the sub bun wasn’t very good either. Can’t wait to try Jersey Mike’s. Thanks for letting me know that there’s a location on York Mills in North York.
Hi JHolly I got lucky the few times I've had firehouse. Franchises can be tricky for sure. York Mills is a great spot, do you head back from time to time?
@@TorontoOurCityDarcie hi Darcy, I don’t get back to the old neighbourhood very often as I can’t drive now because I went wine in 2022. I really do enjoy all your videos and wish I lived closer to Toronto to try out some of the eating spots you guys go to. what is your husband‘s name? I don’t think I’ve ever heard him say his name in the videos. Thank you for responding to the comments that I post on your videos. I really enjoy when RUclipsrs respond to comments personally. So many RUclipsrs out there just reply with a heart and don’t actually post a real comment back to me. Thank you Janice.
@ Hi Janice, Happy to respond back, i always try to stay on-top of this. Its nice to connect with a community of caring people. My husband's name is Chris, maybe we should introduce ourselves more often. Happy you enjoy the videos, and it gives you a piece of home, even if you cant travel back as often as you would like. Have a great day❤️
I live in Ajax as well and to be honest I make the journey to get "Grandma Loves You". I don't believe its italian but I can't get pass their spicy ham and cheese. I think I might have it for dinner tonight LoL. I could have swore they reviewed them but I didn't see a video from them. I've only had them about 4 times but every time my eyes roll back lol
Hi Petcrest, we don't gatekeep here, Chris's shirt is from a company called @RSVLTS, they just started shipping in Canada and have a ton of different franchises and pop culture shirts. Check them out! We aren't sponsored or anything, we just like them. Also thanks for the view and comment.
I know this is a bit unrelated to the video, but I hate the cold weather in Toronto too. If I could change one thing about Toronto I would change the fact that it's frigid bloody cold and there's snow on the ground 6 months of the year here lol
I tried Jersey Mike’s Original Italian when they launched in Markham and was underwhelmed. At $25 after tax for a giant sub, there was nothing about it that was unique or that you couldn’t get at any other sub shop in and around Toronto, and at a lower price. For franchise subs, Firehouse is my go to and they’re far superior across the board compared to Jersey Mike’s (and Jimmy John’s, for that matter). And if we’re talking standalone shops, Toronto’s best > Jersey Mike’s, 11/10 times, every time.
You said muffaletta on top when you described elm street deli sangweech. Or did you really mean olives tapenade. Muffaletta is a type of sandwich. FYI. Can’t wait till jersey mikes open in union station. Correction. I just looked up elm st deli and the description says muffaletta. Which shows they don’t know what they’re talking about.
So we as Italians made fun of how our parents prounounced sandwich. Hence sangweech. 😂😂. That’s how they said it with there Italian accent intertwined with English. I am excited that subs still exist. We are the sub generation. And yes. 🙌 part of our Italian heritage is heavily influenced by good old fashioned mortadella salami. Yummy excited these exist and have a comeback. 🥪🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hi Hope, That makes total sense about sangweech, its a sweet moment for families. We did the same in my house with my father's accent. The sub sandwich lives on, with a number of great local options ❤
I didn't get a chance to watch the video yet but I've had all 3. Lambos for sure is the best. It's the badialis of italian subs. I hope the video ends with the same result.

Have you tried any of these places before?
As usual, yummmmmm...I felt compelled to order myself a sub for dinner...
Hi Marsha,
I hope you enjoyed your sub! Sandwiches can be so satisfying ❤
Awesome video! My number one sub in the city is from La Salumeria at Midtown, ask for the house special ;)
Hi,
Thanks for the recommendation, we will have to check that out! House special it is❤
They all look so good, I have to try them! Congrats ok 4K 🎉
Hey Chef,
Thank you ❤
Let us know your thoughts when you do!
Have you tried the Maker's Pizza Bottega sub?
Years ago Chris had had one of their subs. We love Makers so we will for sure have to check the Bottega Subs
My wife works near The Queen and Beaver. Now I need to come in and visit her after work someday to go there for dinner and to Elm St Deli.

Sangweech is how Italians with broken English call a sandwich
I live in Ajax and in search for a good sandwich. Your video was very helpful. I will try all of them

Agree that the bread has to become one with the filling. Now I have to put Lambo's on my to-do list, next time I am in Leslieville.🥰

I had in london ontario and South Carolina this past summer. Best I've tried. Philly cheese is killer
Nice, we will have to try that one ❤

Sadly Jersey Mike doesn't look like he can hold up to a Bellybuster or even Mr. Sub 😂

would never have considered paying $16 for a sandwich but I guess I gotta try Lambo's now
Jersey Mike's looked to be completely out of their league against these craft made subs. That Lambo's roast beef sub is so on my bucket list.
I can honestly say that roast beef was the single best sandwich i have ever eaten ❤
