i can clear out tg mining like 17 minutes, pop into space to also loot the syndicates and come home with a space ship like 30 minutes in. with an armory unlike anything the station can contest with, and then just give it away to folks who seem to have behaved themself up to that point. and clearly you never seen lifegivers in mining doing that but on steroids, fighting 2 colossi and bubblegum at the same time and just rolf stomping them. geared miners are one thing, but botanist with mining loot stops admin buses meant to stop them with ease. also fun fact for tg codebase for powergamig botanists using the public access dock vs lavaland. toxins,oxygen,genetic, and brain damage get converted to a 1:1 ratio to brute or burn in regards to damage effects to (mega)fauna. so i have killed fauna with almost 800 damage veggie's in a quad tap. you just have to have to figure out the right delivery methods. also mind you citadel has there unique Fermichem and rework of the base tg chemistry, while some are useless and lewd but there are some dangerous things in there like pre 15 minute Astrogen. aka the thing that slowly fades (deletes) folks from the round if you get it injected before the 15 minute marker of the round. otherwise it takes a hour after getting a od going.
If they don't all get killed. On Skyrat (a server with a codebase that has roots from Citadel, which in turn has its roots in older tg.) I tend to use the ash storms as a signal that it is time to go back up to deliver my ore and ash. The Ash Walkers only try to take over the whole station if you have been mean to them, and that is kind of hard because they have to set the oxygen tanks to their own unique oxygen needs. You are more likely to trade bones, sinews, and leather to them in exchange for the things they uncovered from strange rocks.
@@csmead209 i know the coder useroth from citadel who moved there, who got banned from staff due a somewhat silly issue. he joined skyrat as main coder to rebase them, and after that became rather popular while citadel has been slumping since then. and i would not be surprised if he took some of my idea' s i payed him to code and applied them there too. we where working on slowly giving the ghost roles more fun things to do, and use them to learn mechanics outside of being an crew based assistant. with the main goal to being able to terraform the lavalands and unlock a hazardous lower z level. granted the plans were very loose on based what would pass pr and things that would need tweaking, but most where quality of live updates or additions to ghost crew that also gave crew something.. relatively balanced to play with. oh and with ashwalkers, use pure o2 tanks and lower there pressure down to like 2 or 3 kpa. its very easy to get into mining and nag the masks + tanks on tg lavalands. now your station viable if the staff allows it. and no one ever checks if you use the ashwalker starter rcd, to replace doors with lookalikes with no id access. just try avoiding being a murderboning ass and be annoying at best.

Played my first ever round of this today because of your vids. I managed to find a cigar box and light one up. I then loaded my backpack with snacks from a machine and took one step outside where a mining shuttle immediately landed on me. I'm smitten already.
Except some people still manage to get themselves banned from goon for doing stupid shit,like killing a player as "he was hogging all the tools" rather than going and getting his own..
@@Rellana1 that reminds me from a round where i picked up some boxing gloves and went punching everyone in the station, in the end i got killed by a few people after i got into the shuttle. Honestly, i had a lot of fun in this round.
as a miner on /tg/ i feel your frustration, personally i prefer to mine rather than monster hunt (too low on experience to that) and rescue other miners when they are dead. Remember folks proper gps setup saves lives (when at least ONE miner is not dead, station crew does not care)
Well. Good luck saving the gibbed ones next to megafauna. I usually concentrate my rescue efforts on newbies getting killed by basic monsters / normal miners having forgotten their first aid. (stopped for a while because tg deactivated the "barrier" around existing chasms that stopped you from instadying to a slightly darker shade of ground when you already can't see shit and your light lags behind half the time.)
@@teecee1827 one round i found 3 intact heads with missing bodies, and yes light lags are a bad problem. One round i was gibbed by bubblegum right next to the mining outpost, the ONLY thing that left of me was my head. Got revived by the miner i saved earlier, saved his head later when he was killed by the ash drake. It was fun 3 hour long round. We even set up a bar near derelict satelite (with use of a ladder).
@@gorionus9812 thing is, almost all of the heads I've rescued were already ssd. It's rare I got one that could be brought back, so it mostly ended up as brain burgers.

To this day, I can barely even grasp how to reliably win at _Town of Salem,_ which is similar in some ways, though perhaps mechanically extremely simple compared to SS13. But it nevertheless seems interesting, and I want to try my hand at it. I suck at these games, but that's part of the fun for me. lol

You have to remember what you have in your hands, what hand is active, what of the 4 stances you are currently in and what part of a thermonuclear reactor does not mix well with your wrench at thewrong time. I "tried" to get into it recently after surfing the SS13 wiki's (there's more than one) for 2-3 days, and I couldn't even figure out how to do anything before I got yelled at and turned into a purple lizard. The rpg aspect of it is honestly what is the least complicated, but I have been playing P&P rpg's for over 20 years, so making up shit on the fly comes easy to me. But this game falls under the "Only watch" category, since even the newbie servers didn't allow for much tutorial-time.

The crates are either a hangman game or number guess game. If you use a multitool, you get told if where your letters fit in or if your guess was too high/too low

Yeah, as someone who primarily plays miner on TG I understand your pain. I try to get artifacts for cargo to sell since a few sell for 20k. Though most of the time cargo doesn't care or has no idea artifacts are worth anything. Then whenever I play cargo tech/QM miners won't bring any artifacts and the other techs are competent. It's the weirdest and most frustrating thing.
So two days ago I was talking to some fuckin' nerds about SS13. I hadn't played it in a good...six, seven years (as Penis Morgan on goon if anyone has a good memory), but reminiscing had me all hard to play again. My FBI agent must be a cool dude, because these vids started popping up within a couple hours of the conversation. Needless to say, I don't work this weekend and so I expect to be a 2d spessmans once more, in large part because these videos are so fuckin' great and remind me why I loved SS13.

Oof, TG means you need to rescue the dead in 3 to 15 minutes to get them back. And you're gonna need a replacement heart too.

Depends on codebase, search the station/host's wiki
On some servers you can just set up a generic vending machine and fill it with things you want to sell.
