- Pupusas are one of the most famous menu items from El Salvador and for good reason: not only are they delicious, but they are so customizable that you can have a different one every day of the month. On this episode of 5 Buck Lunch, Prez takes us outside of midtown-Manhattan to 191st St.'s La Cabana Salvadorena where we learn about what makes Salvadorian food so special.

Algún salvadoreño aquí 👫💔😭🇸🇻♥✨
hello karla
Minimo. siempre observando por nuevos restaurantes q tengan gangas jaja
100% 🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻🇸🇻
I could eat pupusas all day 💙💙💙💙💙
SAME.
Same here
yeah.. you ate pupusas with your hands..got it right
Been going here since I was a kid I love this restaurant!! Tamal de elotes are bomb too w crema!😋😋 Now I'm hungry!
Yea boy!! Love my people's food!!
So goooood.
You know if a restaurant is good if it's cramp and no room. The kitchen is right across from all the tight spaces.
Love your food trips! When we come to New York again we will check some of your spots out!
I think I finally got to see your camera man in the reflection the mystery man revealed that was a great meal for a even greater price keep the $5 lunches I love the series once again👍🏼!
Anyone else notice how he claims to "put you onto the best cheap Salvadorian lunch," and yet at the beginning of the episode he admits to hardly knowing about Salvadorian food and proceeds to only visit one restaurant just based on a random friend's recommendation... lol same thing for every episode
testertester1 no , it is not the same thing , he goes to different places and tries unique cheap eats , it’s quite simple actually, you can find pupusas in most Salvadoran bodegas no matter what place you are in . Have you ever had a pupusa ? they are a bang for your buck and always fresh. Such ignorance . If you feel it’s the same don’t watch it, instead of leaving a negative comment when you are indeed wrong.
The title of the video is literally "The Best Cheap Salvadorian Lunch in NYC" and yet they only check out one place based on a random recommendation and that's it. What does my ever having a pupusa have to do with criticism of how the video is produced? You aren't even writing in a coherent way. I agree that pupusas are a good bang for you buck, I just think this whole series is low-effort compared to what Thrillest normally puts out. Criticism isn't a "negative comment," it's a constructive one.
testertester1 when you said all the videos are the same it became a negative comment. It’s sad you live in a world where you take the phrase, “ the best “ literally, if they went to every place that sold pupusas it would be a very long video my friend, try not to hate but appreciate videos. You should also try the food, to see how it is an affordable and yet delicious dish that comes in multiple varieties , that’s all I meant about the pupusa comment, it is one of my favorite foods and that is why I stand by it so carelessly. We need to show the people how good it is not bring a channel down just because they don’t try every single establishment that sells pupusas.
I mean honestly they are simialr price points and mostly similar he could of visited a random place and done worse or done better
xxtrushot360xx
I don’t mean to be negative but you must admit to lick the salsa jar was not good
Restaurants reuse those containers for the next customers
So this was kinda gross and I hope he left his waitress a tip
Tips are what waiters/waitresses rely upon
)As a native Salvadorean, I never heard of Brocoli or Brocolini in a pupusa, for sure a first. the classic pupusa can be cheese & pork (revueltas), Cheese and beans, pork only (chicharron and the one item that is difficutl to get is loroco. Loroco and cheese pupusas are delicious.
We eat pupusas with the tomato base sauce and curtido (cole slaw which is cured with salt, pepper and vinegar)
I gotta eat 5 of them to get full
Ok now you you got me Soo mad that I HAVE to get pupusas... So cool and that slaw amazing choice bro phenomenal.😎😎😋 Not in a bad way Just HUNGRY
Sounds like a good excuse to get some pupusas...
🤔... I agree 😲😃
Loved that you ate the way we eat it, because people try it without curtido and salsa with forks or think is a mexican gordita and is so different!!
Eating it the right way, without a fork. 👍🏻
The way he bit on on the pupusa without putting the sides first is fucking beyond yooo this fuckin guy!! someone get yaboi
I love me a popusa revelation! With some bomb curtido!
Alejandro Ramirez pupusa not popusa
you also love pazza and hutdog? at least learn to spell it right.
Lol it’s pupusa revuelta
Salvadoran. Not Salvadorian. Can’t wait to try! Love pupusa
The more you know!
Don’t u have to leave a tips?
Great video bro. You ate them with your hands hahaha right on.
items like chicken and shrimp were added post the 1990's generation.
that is like 2004 new gen pupusa
You don't have to tip the waitress?
Corey Lush It’s not the law, tipping is a tradition. Only stupid sheep minded people do things because everyone else does without questioning the motive.
@@thereisnopandemic everyone knows it's not a law Idiot, but it's a courtesy.
Broham you gotta go upstate to Rochester NY and get you a garbage plate and don't forget to try some boss sauce also
How come there is not tip? Make that a challenge. $5 bucks including the tip.
I really like the fact that he didn't used fork and knife.
this is the first time in the series you ordered from a table, isn't it?
You have to tip bro
Gustavo barreda No you don’t, tipping is a man made tradition that makes no sense.
Yes
Yes.
you need to find bigger portions
You go to a lot of service restaurants and never leave a tip, That's just rude.
+brian a Seriously? You think Thrillist doesn't leave a tip? 😂
Pretty sure Thrillist just hopes they do it for the "Love".
brian a You know what is rude, it’s expecting a tip. Tipping is a man made tradition to cover for the cheap employer. I don’t tip, and I hope that people wake up from being blind sheep and stop tipping, people tip just because they are told to do or because everyone does it with out any question on why does it even make sense to tip. You give me a logical reason why should anyone tip besides it is tradition?
yooo son doesn't know how to eat a pupusa!!
This is how your supposed to eat a pupusa, with your Hands.
LAtoMars does it make it taste different using a fork?
You need 4 to get full. don't fool yourself
They knew this cheap fool was coming to eat and purposely gave him an empty pupusa. Filled with "cheese and pork". More like air.
IT'S SALVADOREAN NOT EL SALVADOREAN...........
Walter Alberto
That's right...
Walter Alberto wrong, it’s Salvadoreño not salvadorean.
