For the windows, I suggest one long rod spanning both windows. Hang it the same height as the black hutch. Don't skimp on the panels! Two on the outer sides of the window. Two in the middle, covering the wall space. This will give the illusion of a large expanse of windows.
Agreed but curtain panels in middle could make the wall and space seems smaller. Keeping panels in the corners would visually allow the room to fill larger
I remember when Crystal used to post first thing in the morning, every MWF - Those were the days! I was so spoiled and didn't realize it. Always LOVE a Crystal Tara video!
Due to the space between the windows, I think four (two panels on each window) would make it look more finished. I also would put them on the side window to bring the room together. Much easier to start out with eight panels to see if you like them rather than ordering fewer and then having to wait! But whatever you do, it should make you happy!! ❤️
Ceiling to floor, four panels that span both windows. Two on one side two on the other window, they will look high end because of the extra fabric. A bonus is that will leave wall area between the windows for a couple of paintings. I made custom drapes for years, they can change the feel of a room. Even the small window should be covered.
Crystal, you don't need a K cup holder, just get yourself a pretty basket and place a pretty napkin inside depending on the season and place it next to the coffee maker. It will definitely hold more than the holder would. And it adds nice decor to what you already have going on.
I genuinely love your channel. You are so motivational and ooze positivity and energy. You have a natural flare for decorating and I love that your purchases are always considered. Thank you Crystal! Carry on doing what you are doing!! 🇬🇧
For the kids art idea in the pantry, have you seen the frames on Amazon that swing open from the front? You can apparently keep a several pieces in them to rotate through.
For the empty space beside my fridge, I made a plate rack where I display some of my late mom’s platters. I smile and am reminded of precious memories.
Hang the rod as close to the ceiling as possible, one long rod with 4 brackets, using two panels per window-one on each outer side with two in the center. You can put the brackets behind the panels too. And yes, I’d still drape the little side window to create continuity, even if you think it’s not necessary. If you decide on one panel per dining window, I’d just use a regular rod on each window. Have you ever thought about painting the wall surrounding your fireplace-the shelving walls?? If you paint your office barn door, perhaps carrying that color to that wall as well???
If you have a blank wall space in your garage coming into your house, a suggestion would be to use that space to hang your kids' artwork. My neighbor did that for her kids and it was always fun seeing it nicely displayed. Just a thought. Cannot wait for the curtains.
Hi Crystal, i would do 2 panels of curtains and put one big rod at the very top of your window or door. Beautiful house. Your living room looks a lot like mine. 😊❤
Curtains would depend on if you're planning on closing them or not. If just for decor, then one panel, if full enough may be enough. 😊 Billy bookcases from Ikea would work in your library area & are not that expensive. You have the option of doors or open shelves.
Greetings from the middle of Nebraska where we have been having 60°+ weather with lots of sunshine! Crystal this was a really fun video! I appreciate your recipes and always look forward to them. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and inspirational decorating ideas!! Have a wonderful week!
I’m so glad you’re getting drapes. I didn’t want to offend you, but I wanted to ask you about drapes to cozy up those areas. Your ideas sound fabulous for your new beautiful home. Thank you for taking us on your journey.👍🏻
How about a huge magnetic white board in your pantry? Love the pink glasses and the tablescape . My idea on the window treatment is to hang one long rod high up and hang 4 panels. (2X2) on each window. It is important to have the panels full. That way you cover up that wall between the windows to make it look larger. Oh my goodness…Charlie is so cute! Love that sweet face! Excited to hear and see the new ideas on your home come to fruition! Thanks for all of your hard work with presenting 3 videos this week!
I would add two panels to each window, including the smaller window, otherwise it will look unfinished. I would bump the rods higher than the hutch since your living area ceilings are so high. It will give the appearance of higher ceilings in your dining area. I completely understand the apprehension of not wanting to mess up a brand new home with DIY’s. 😊
I love to see the myriad ways your home is coming together and all of the randomness! Also, I wish my Goodwill looked as good as yours! I'm going to try your overnight oats recipe for sure.
Have you ever considered wall paper for an accent wall perhaps in your entryway? They say it’s making a comeback. There’s some really nice designs and colors that can make a space look cozy. Just a thought! I don’t blame you for taking your time. A home is a forever project.
Two panels on each window. It would add so much warmth and softness. Hopefully your curtains aren’t “neutral”. You need something either with color and or a pattern in it. 👍
I've had the sweet laurel baking book for awhile now & also have ut iut for valentine decor so was thrilled to see u bought it. I have had it over a year but yet to try any recipes either so if u do, PLEASE post so it will motivate me! 😂
Hi Crystal! I too think 4 panels for the windows, and for the side window also. Imo, it will look more finished. Than-you for your hard work in sharing your videos.❤️
Have you thought about moving the closet door in your foyer around the corner? It would give you so much more area to work with in the foyer . Maybe when the handyman comes to price out other areas you could get a quote.
Curtain panels need to go ceiling to floor. You invested in high ceilings, use that height. Definitely don’t skimp on the panels if each panel is 54”-60” wide, two per window will be fine. Make sure all your rods are the same height.
I think on the window panels i would to two on each window. Your statement was you wanted to warm up the room and i think that would be more cozy that one radom panel on each window. 2 panels would definitely frame the each window. I used to work at JCP in the windows department years ago !!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I was so happy to see another video out! Love the pink glasses and the pink book on your shelves and the pink houses fit perfectly in the tray on your table. I also love the stems in the vase in the tray. Looking forward to seeing the drapes, I think 2 per window but I think your judgement is better than mine. Looking forward to seeing any of the future projects you do and I definitely think the upstairs will look great with some board and batten and your children’s portraits. 😊❤😊
Hi Crystal. You might want to try a piece of cardboard against the wall upstairs to get a feel for the height of the board and baton behind the railing. Do you have it the same height or a little higher? Also, look at it from downstairs. Hope this helps. 😊
I think two panels per window would look best. I also think without a panel, the smaller window would stick out like a sore thumb. Your home is beautiful!!!!! I can't wait to see what you decide.
Crystal, I would make a full fabric to one side on each window, but definitely add a drape to the small window, or you will be unbalanced and look unfinished. ❤
One rod and do two separate pieces of curtain on both sides.. so you can open them during the day to let the sun in.. I would might use shears instead of curtains.. you can get different colors.. They are so hard to maneuver around when you are opening the door
Hi Crystal. I have grey blonde hair & I get more compliments. They think I have blonde streaks in my gray hair..lol. It just actually hasn't all turned gray yet. I have a friend who had a cute idea for displaying her children's art work. She put up black polls or curtain rods, staggering the rows. Then she put small black curtain clips on the rods & hung the art work. So cute. ❤😊
Hi Crystal Wonderful video today! I always enjoy hanging out with you, Charlie too. He is just so adorable! Your pink glasses are so cute, they look perfect on your shelves. I think 2 curtains per window would look beautiful, but I love how you decorate and you truly are the master decorator!☺️✨ All your projects sound wonderful, it will be fun watching how they turn out! Your home is just gorgeous and I've really enjoyed watching the process of you decorating your new home. Love all your videos Crystal and you are adorable and a joy to watch! Have a wonderful day 🤗💖
Hi Crystal! How come when your refrigerator was delivered "brand new" you weren't able to get the proper depth one? It would have just been a switch out? Now you have to live with the one that sticks out & shows the black side and makes less room to walk by the Island?
Hi, Crystal, your windows in the dining room are wide enough that you definitely need at least two curtains on each window, imo. I wasn’t sure you were planning to hang curtains but I’m really glad you are because, as you said, it will add needed warmth to your space.
I would only use one panel on the 2 windows first to see if you like it, then you can always order more panels. I really love your table center piece, I am going to get the floral stems and look at a thrift store for a vase and if not the color I can paint it. I just really have enjoyed watching you over the past several years and how your taste has changed!!!!!!! Charlie is so adorable❤❤❤
You could do a big chalkboard on that pantry wall and let the kids do their art work on it and file away all the paper artwork. I did one file per kid and found really neat file folders at Michaels. Just an idea. ❤
I think you could get away with a panel, one on each end, provided you used one long rod over both windows. We have that in our house, and it looks great, but we just have one wide bay window, not two separate windows. I LOVE the idea of building shelves on the other side of your refrigerator wall! That's on my list, a tall built in shelf unit for displaying cookbooks and other things. I love a lot of display spaces in the kitchen. If I had a big wall like yours (upstairs) I would put Brady Bunch style photos, as we're a second marriage (both widowed young) and we have three boys and three girls. We don't have an Alice though, that would be nice, LOL. I'd probably put our dog's photo in the middle "Alice" spot. Maybe you could let them know at the Goodwill what you're looking for, and they'll call you when one comes in. What is something you originally thought you wanted for your house, but have since decided was unnecessary?
Yes! Keep these videos coming! Lol I agree that more panels of curtains is the better choice. I can't wait to see the catwalk upstairs decorated. It's gonna look amazing!
I made the oats last night and I’ve never been a fan but these are good! The cold oats still freak me out so I nuked them for 30 seconds to warm them a bit. So yummy after my workout!
Hi Crystal! The wall off the pantry would be pretty if it was a big wood picture frame with the inside a cork type board for the artwork. It might be kind of fun to bring in some wood tones and yet elevate the artwork. I can't believe what a great job Ethan and Andrew did on their artwork! You also would then have a space for school info or lists to remember, etc. I think get those curtain rods up high and create an effect of one big window expanse. I think it will look beautiful! Awww Charlie is a sweetie! What a great companion!
Maybe put up a cork board in the pantry. Put the kids' artwork and such on it for a month, then toss it. You would need a storage unit to store all your kids stuff if you wanted to keep it all. Two curtain panels per windows. Charlie is so adorable! Have a great day.
Crystal, I'm so excited to see another video from you already! And what a fun video it is! I love all of your ideas, they all sound good to me. I think 2 panels on each window would look best, but you always make the best decisions, imo. I love the way you decorate, your home is beautiful, and cozy. I admire the way you are taking your time, to figure out the best options for your lovely home. No sense in just rushing just to fill it all up! You're doing a great job, sweet girl. ❤ I would be the same way, not anxious to put nails in the walls! 😂 The cookie bars looked delicious! Charlie is so adorable! 😊❤
2 panels per window for sure with your rod hung a couple inches from ceiling. Makes for taller window feeling. As far as side window I think you could leave it. Good luck. Love your videos
Hey Crystal - thanks for the discount on Beam - I am willing to try it due to my sleep habits. Regarding the window treatments, I recommend 2 rods and 4 panels. 1 rod across the 4 windows would look awkward and 2 panels would be too skimpy if you're trying to do it right and warm up the beautiful space.
2 panels on each window, tho' whatever you do, I know it will be perfect ~ table decor looks so nice ~ yum, yes might have to try those cookie bars....thanks Crystal.
Hi: all your baking and cooking looks so yummy ❤. I think that you have to think what your style is, and what will look beautiful in your house 🏠. and then you will know how to bring into your house the right vibe ❤ I am for the modern one , your house looking so amazing, so beautiful and the modern look I love the modern style decor ideas. They have so much to offers like in art, well and other stuff and things ❤❤❤. I wish you all happiness success, luck , joy, and a 100 hugs for Charlie❤❤❤.
I have always heard you should hang curtains almost from the ceiling. Is that what you will be doing? The little window might look out of place if you don’t hang a curtain. Hard to tell till you get them up Like another person said I would buy more and then return if you have to that way you are getting some the same dye lot
You have beautiful taste, whatever you choose to do with the windows will be lovely. Thanks for the recipes, I just made overnight oats and the cookie bars will next. I'll wait until the weekend when the kiddos will be here. ❤
I am sitting in Austin, TX watching your latest video, flew out of Watertown yesterday to babysit for a few days…my luggage got lost so that’s fun. Anyway, I’m anxious to see your new projects, I can help you do the board and batten if you want cheap labor 😉…also, I have one of those Keurig things if you’re still looking!
Another great video Crystal! I can’t wait to try your overnight oats recipe. In the winter I often times will heat up the oats to get the chill out, but I could eat them every day! I tried your chicken meatball recipe yesterday and oh my goodness it’s terrific!! I so enjoy your videos ❤
Crystal I have a similar window situation, our windows are just taller. I have one very long bar across the top very close to the ceiling and panels in all three spaces. Pottery Barn came out and helped me figure it out. It definitely finished the look. I know you have researched this. Hard call on the two rods or one massive rod. I love my massive rod! I hope this helps and does not complicate things!!! Holli in Texas
So happy to get to see another video from you today! I think 2 panel's per window would look best. I am so excited to see all the pending projects you have in mind for this year! Speaking of, I think that your idea of adding something on the side of your fridge is a great idea. I actually just watched where a lady built shallow shelves on the side of her fridge. In a way, it reminds me of a plate display shelf that you could place cook books, spices or trinkets, and use the antiqued gold gallery rails on each shelf that would match your gold accents in your kitchen. I'm sorry if I'm not explaining that very well! lol. You can reference the RUclipsr, "DIY Huntress" whom built the shelf that I mentioned. Have a good day, thanks for sharing!
2 curtains (sorry) on each window and please go as high as possible to elevate the look of the room. It's going to look so nice. Can't wait to see what the projects price out to and if the person comes up with some innovative ideas that are affordable and that you love. You might consider adding moldings (precut and mitered) instead of board and baton. Just a thought.
Wow! 2 videos in a row. What a treat. You do seem extra happy on this day. I would personally do two curtain panels on each side of each window for a fuller look. Maybe at least two on the outside of each window if that makes sense. One panel on each side seems a little skimpy. Just my opinion. What eating plan are you doing? You look so great. I need to slim down and gain some extra energy. Whatever you're doing, it seems to be working.
I think it would look much better if you put two panels on each window. for a fuller look you could do 4 each or just get wider panels. I would go above your windows up higher to give the illusion of bigger windows you may want to hang the same height as your hutch. I'd want something on my patio door as well. at night I like to shut my verticals , day/night shade & blinds. for added privacy once day comes they are open.
If you looking on new ways to style your hair I love Dressing Your Truth content by Carol Tuttle. She has a lot of free information about what colors look best and how to create your own style. It’s helped me so much with my own style and also helping my 3 daughters find their own style.
Crystal, I would definitely put one long rod. I would run my curtains from ceiling to floor. Definitely 2 panels on each side. You have too expensive of a home to go cheaper route. You will be sorry in the long run. I'm sorry, but that's my opinion. Have a blessed day. ❤️
I would say two curtains on each window:) I think you’re on the right path for having someone come in and give you quotes and suggestions on what you like to do on your walls. Can’t wait to see what you decide to do :-) wow you’re a goodwill store. Sure is clean. Ours is horrible!!! but our Salvation Army store is clean like your Goodwill very well organized :-) the bars look yummmy!!! Tfs and God bless:)
For the windows, I suggest one long rod spanning both windows. Hang it the same height as the black hutch. Don't skimp on the panels! Two on the outer sides of the window. Two in the middle, covering the wall space. This will give the illusion of a large expanse of windows.
Thank you!
That’s EXACTLY what I was going to suggest. The one long curtain rod will look waaayyyy better than2 separate ones. It’s going to look fantastic!
Yes, do it this way! It looks very professional and high end.
Pinch pleat clips will also upscale any curtain you buy.
Agreed but curtain panels in middle could make the wall and space seems smaller. Keeping panels in the corners would visually allow the room to fill larger
Crystal twice in one week! Hurray! Don't care what you are doing! Just love seeing your smiling face. Always so chipper. ❤
Thank you!! Debating on one more video this week, yet! Stay tuned!
@@CrystalTara wow that would be awesome!
I remember when Crystal used to post first thing in the morning, every MWF - Those were the days! I was so spoiled and didn't realize it. Always LOVE a Crystal Tara video!
I LOVE the pink !!!!! It looks so pretty to see COLOR In the house. So nice to see color! (with all the neutral and black.)
YES, all these creators who just had to build a mosoleum, make it so cold by having nothing but black and white. Not homey at all
Whattttttt! 2 days in a row I get to hang out with crystal!!
2 panels per window
Woohoo!! I'm hoping for one more on Friday as well.
Due to the space between the windows, I think four (two panels on each window) would make it look more finished. I also would put them on the side window to bring the room together. Much easier to start out with eight panels to see if you like them rather than ordering fewer and then having to wait! But whatever you do, it should make you happy!! ❤️

Me too! I enjoy the heck out of all of Crystal's videos! ❤

I love these day in the life videos! My opinion is two panels per window, but whatever you choose will look great- it always does!!
Crystal! Love all the cute Valentine decor. Cute centerpiece for the dining room table! 🩷
2 videos in 1 week?! Yes, please!!
Maybe one more this week yet too!
@@CrystalTara woooohoooo. I love watching you, friend.

I would do 2 and 2 on the big windows. On the patio and small window I would do roller shades.
All the windows do have roller shades already. Curtains would just be for looks on those 2 windows.
The bars look amazing. The oats too. The curtains I agree two on each would look good. I worked at belk for years and you need that division.
2 panels on each window, tho' whatever you do, I know it will be perfect ~ table decor looks so nice ~ yum, yes might have to try those cookie bars....thanks Crystal.
Hi: all your baking and cooking looks so yummy ❤. I think that you have to think what your style
is, and what will look beautiful in your house 🏠.
and then you will know how to bring into your house the right vibe ❤ I am for the modern one , your house looking so amazing, so beautiful and the modern look I love the modern style decor ideas. They have so much to offers like in art, well and other stuff and things ❤❤❤. I wish you all happiness success, luck , joy, and a 100 hugs for Charlie❤❤❤.
That’s great that you’re going to be doing your windows crystal I would go with two panels per window👍
So beautiful house Crystal and so cozy decorations, I just love everything in your house 😘😍🥰
I have always heard you should hang curtains almost from the ceiling. Is that what you will be doing?
The little window might look out of place if you don’t hang a curtain. Hard to tell till you get them up
Like another person said I would buy more and then return if you have to that way you are getting some the same dye lot
Always enjoy your videos. I would do 2 panels on each window. ❤😊
I feel like 2 panels on each window would look great!
It complicates things a bit, but I'll find my way. 😂😂
Definitely more panels for the windows. That way you can style them differently !
Curtains are going to warm up that space so much !
Thank you! I guess 4 more it is!
Smallwoods would look sooo pretty on the hall way walls upstairs! I have several and love them all!
YES!!
Just a thought.
one be just fine depend how big the windows love your home is just spectacular
🙋♀️❤hello my friend, happy you had a nice vacation! Always look forward to your videos🥰 take care, Tammy😊
Crystal, yes 2 curtain panels per window for warmth, piano sound & privacy. Enjoy larger in foyer. I'm always inspired. Thx. cgzone8
I love your videos and twice in one week!! ❤️❤️
Oooo..Maybe buy 2 for each window but put up 1 first and see how you like it.
If you looking on new ways to style your hair I love Dressing Your Truth content by Carol Tuttle. She has a lot of free information about what colors look best and how to create your own style. It’s helped me so much with my own style and also helping my 3 daughters find their own style.
Love the pink❤
Yum to the bars.I have made your overnight oats they are very good. The curtains will look so nice.No matter which you choose it will look nice.
An idea for the pantry wall....use magnetic paint so you can easy move and swap things 😊
Love your videos Crystal! Those Alaini bars, I’ve been wanting to try those! That one you had looked so good!
Hi! Crystal can you please tell where your dining room set is from? Everything looks so pretty! 😍 definitely 2 and 2
Dining set was purchased from a local furniture store, but it's Amish made by Mavin Furniture. I hope that helps!
