- In this video I made a bike powered by a chainsaw motor.
Unfortunately because of my mistake, the motor cant work on low wheel revolution.
Its like that because the scale between the sprockets on the chainsaw and the wheel is 1:2 .
To make the bike work better at lower wheel revolutions it is recomended to have bigger scale of sprockets between the chainsaw and the wheel.
I have in plan to make a more simple and yet better version of this bike, so subscribe and enjoy the new videos.

Hey I have a problem so I welded the sprocket on the outside of the clutch and I’m using the stick 7 speed on my rear wheel so when I hooked it all up I couldn’t pull start it unless I lifted the back wheel up because it was to hard because of the chain so I had to lift the back wheel up but when I did that the chain fell off cause it was loose, do you think that’s cause I need a chain tensioner?

you could have also tried starting it by pushing (most chainsaw clutches can whitstand a lot of braking force and still run BUT they get really hot...)

may have warped the clutch drum with all the heat from welding, and the clutch is now touching. just sand some of the clutch off i guess, and it should be good.
Configure it like a mid Drive using a triple chainring on the cranks with the original chain on the inner sprocket and the one that goes to the chainsaw on the outside sprocket which means the petals will always be moving unless you can figure out a way to put a Freewheel on the front sprocket somewhere but I'm not sure how you do that and the tensioner on the rear derailleur will probably do what you need it to do because that would make a huge difference I think with the low torque and inadequate speed that leveraging the existing gears would be a game changer except when you're starting out which with the higher gear ratio would just put undue stress on the motor chain and everything else. That would also allow you to mount it inside the triangle where it would be better balanced and feel a l'ot more natural and require a much shorter chain that you probably wouldn't have to worry about coming off just an idea you may not have considered and good luck hope you get it worked out

In all the videos at the end the saw doesn’t sound under any load. Just seems like you pedaled really fast and coasted by in the video frame because each pass was so limited in distance covered. Just saying that saw doesn’t sound like it’s under any load at all.
Typical chainsaws run at around 13,000rpm, and for a 20" wheel, 10MPH is like 300 RPM so ideally you'd have a 40:1 reduction from the chainsaw to the wheel... in this (and many other videos) it looks like people us a regular 13t sprocket at the saw and a 40t sprocket at the wheel giving you like a 4:1 reduction...... That chainsaw IS idling and probably burning the clutch.

I would have had to clean and shape my brackets!
I know it works and is well designed but I would have to grind down and shape the metal and paint it.

Is that the best ratio you have figured out with using the chainsaw? I'm about to try putting a chainsaw on a trike I have so I'll have the motor on the front tire so there is less wear on the motor any suggestions would be appreciated

Is the clutch getting hotter?
Interesting gear ratio which won't result in very high speed but I wonder how it does for range (on a full tank)?
Does it have enough torque to tweak that gear ratio enough for a topspeed similar to what you get from pedaling and I wonder if you configured it as a mid drive with an extra chain ring a rear derailleur and cassette that you could leverage to make up for the limitations of limited torque and top speed resulting in something much closer to a normal bike or pedaling your ass off with a nice set of legs

Это лишняя нагрузка на мотор..
У меня д8э ,колесо задняя немецкая на 28
(3 переключения) к ней приспособил звёздочку от мотоцикла дельта...
Также и цепь
Пока еду, нет проблем никаких, и шпицы не ломаются если правильно с места стартануть.🙂

It can go around 40kmh / 25mph, but I made too little reduction. So, a chainsaw does not have the power to start a bicycle, but it can maintain speed.

All that weight should have been lower inside the frame and just use the pedal gear thats on the inside of the pedal set of gears
