All I have to say is go to the 45 minute point and compare it to Twain's prior drummer Elia Wood. Elia recently was awarded fan favorite Country/pop drummer of the yr by the highly respected Modern Drummer magazine. The difference is astonishing. The flow and the feel is completely gone. it's hard to replace true talent. It's now a slow/heavy handed Bam Bam like playing the drums. I got a Great a Drummer Husband That I would put money on against Shania’s girl Drummer he has been a drummer since 5 years old and he is a Songwriter so am I but as far as Shania’s Voice It’s still Beautiful and Strong she not letting anything slowing her down she is still young And by all means 50’s todays young your not old until your 80
I'm sure your husband could. Until Twain hired her on, Lamson played on an 8 piece kit. Very closed in style. She played in a punk band called Peaches, and also was the vocalist in the band Givers.. Contrast w Wood, who plays both open and closed, and often goes back and forth numerous times in the same song. Elia's parents are serious musicians (dad was an original member of the TSO). Mark is a conposer, arranger, and an engineer. Elia plays utilizing all of his skills, and it showed. The switch is a mystery.
Elia created all the cymbal patterns for the refrains in I'm outta here. Teddy couldn't play them, so they dumbed it down and dropped them. The song "You win my love". It was attempted once at the Austin show 5 months into the tour. It was such a train wreck, it never appeared again. Have your husband watch that video, and contrast it with the LV residency video of the same song Elia did. The simple, but perfect rhythm she created at around the 3 minute mark. Teddy couldn't figure out how to do it. Dropped. Elia may have the best sounding snare in the business. Tuning is part, but someone is playing drum, rather than beating it to death. You can tell it is lip synced because her voice hasn't lowered at all in 28 years, which is impossible. The voice gets lower as you get older, but when she "sings" her voice is in the same key as it was in 1995. Not fooling anyone. A good example is Cher. When she toured, her voice was lower and therefore you could tell it was real.
Its not impossible to sing the same, she sang with her old recording of “Man I Feel like a woman “Match it”you can look that up to I also went to her Concert she was not lip sync not at all
I'm trying to figure if the LV residency schedule is going to be good for her voice or not. In May she has 8 shows in 17 days. The lare August/September is 8 in 15 days, and then the late Nov/December is 8 shows in 16 days. A lot of back to back days.
I had thought of buying some tickets when it was first announced with the hope the boss would wise up and realize she needs a pro drummer to pull of a stage show with what will probably be a large stage troupe (dancers) that rely on precise timing, but decided to skip taking the chance.
