This song is all too real. I see the sadness in his face. The real truth is Johnny Thunders died of a broken heart. Drugs, leukemia and/or murdered are aggravating factors. I love him as a person and I feel his pain. L.A.M.F. forever. He is still alive in my heart and mind as well as those who believe in the true healing powers of dirty rock n' roll
I met Johnny-but it was in the dressing room at The Jockey Club in Newport,Ky-in passing-he had a big bag of KY Bluegrass in his hand. What you say is true my friend. That being said as an Appalachian-I found myself in Queens hanging with the locals...hard asses from NYC are sometimes misunderstood...He did a good show-was personable as he could be and...what you said...very good...and Sylvain Sylvain was there baking him up...yep
This was a live concert, but Johnny was "feeling it" that night, so there are tons of guitar overdubs, "guitar fixes", if you will. I paid a fortune for this and waited for it in the mail with great anticipation to show it to my band mates. (back when it first was released on VHS) played it after my band's practice one night and was rightly laughed at..(.because the overdubs don't match the video) I was bummed... I thought at least a concert video would be a way to see him at his best... but drugs are a bitch... but I never turned my back on Johnny, I stuck by him right up to the end and still do... some people don't like his music, that's fine, they can listen to top 40, Russian Opera, or whatever, just don't hate on something you don't know nothing about. There's a lot to be found in his records.
I'm a professional drug taker. Mental illness sucks. Go ahead and give me shit, I'm old and have heard it all. I just wanted to point out that the guitar in this is the musical embodiment of ALONE. Stay safe.
live:Lyceum,London,25 March 1984 reunion show with classic line up,contains some studio overdub by JT Can also be found as Dead or Alive DVD.. Put these please in the info section just in case anyone doesnt know...
@@jaimemcgr27 i know. I was just giving walter a shoot out since he is kind of overshadowed and he just passed. Everyone usually just go "johnny!" in the comments
What is he saying there? Blessed art thou among Women, who forget to Fk children, i believe in the Church , the communion of against, , the forgiveness of the sins? Did he really say blessed are the women who forgot to Fuck children? Maybe he is saying something against the church. sounds personal to him. I hope that didn't happen to him as Roman Catholic Kid.
Anyone who can list the band members from this vid? According to @mariosthunders this was at Lyceum in London, March 25 1984. Saw some version of this band at Peppermint Lounge, NYC in 1983, but don't recall seeing Affected-Blase White-Jacket '80s guy playing JT's guitar licks (they were 90 mins late & JT wasted, but it was a great gig).
