    This concert was incredible...stage lighting was top notch. Any idea what that spinning orb thing is in the middle?

    Sergio is playing a custom made fender 6 string bass. Made specifically for the "gore" album. He was two of them, both have whammy bars. I love this song and set this for this tour. To all of those hating on chino, remember, he's been doing this since 1988. Not always is he going to be on point, especially when they are playing new material.

      Haha such a sorry excuse. Not to start a Korn/Deftones debate (there is as much a comradery as there is competition between those two bands) but go listen to their Rotting in Vain premiere at Chicago July 2016 last month. It sounds the damn same as the album version (vocals most notably which should tell you something more there in addition, too) and yeah Korn wasn't exactly formed in 1988, they were LAPD around that time and JD was singing with other bands, so that "doing this since 1988 excuse" is just that....an excuse by a fanatic. Which is fine, but Deftones fans are only giving themselves pep talks at this point when the evidence is as clear as day and always points to the contrary.
      Chino drinks way way too much and you can just tell. He's sloppy. Korn is as sober as a brick as we all know, and they're constantly touring amphetheatres and arenas for a damn good reason.

      though JD has always been the better live singer out of him and chino,let's not act like the dude doesn't sound like shit as well.yeah rotting in vain sounds amazing live,but does he really hit any high notes in that song?does he bring his vocals past his comfort zone? no he doesn't,as to this song which is filled with constant change of pitch so of course the dudes voice is going to crack because he can't do it anymore.
      the both of them can't do what they did in the 90s/early 00s,hence why only 1 song from untouchables can be performed live (here to stay) and songs from
      koi no yokan are nearly impossible to pull off live.so to make it seem like Jonathan is flawless with his vocals is a bit of a reach when in fact he struggles as whole lot with them,and if you don't believe go watch any freak on a leash performance from 13 to now and hear how weak and whinny his voice becomes.

      ThaTruth223 How many times have you seen Korn lately? What songs would you like JD to sing that he sings so hi pitch? Maybe you have an expectation thats not realistic of a singer. Go listen to "Tearjerker" and tell me JD cant sing. I saw him do it live and its better live so please challenge me to link that to you. You might as well look it up already bro.

    • @ThaTruth223

      I never said I want him to sing those type of songs,I simply said that rotting in vain isn't something he can't pull off because it stays within his comfort zone.and I've seen them twice with slipknot on the prepare for hell tour,and again he sang songs with in his vocal range.but like I said he can barely finish of freak on a leash with out his vocals wearing out,and is that a bad thing ?no it isn't.hes in his 40s and his voice is losing range.
      and you're comparing tearjerker,a song that's been peeformed twice 10 years ago I do believe and never seen the light of day again.and I don't have realistic expectations because I don't expect him to pull off songs like blame which he couldn't when they tried it at his peak.
      my entire argument is that both Jon and Chino are not who they were and saying one is better than the other isn't really saying much.because chino has lost it and Jon isn't far behind him.
      and I've seen korn 10 times since the age of 14 and I'm now 27,I've heard the guys voice at its best and definitely at its worse.ive seen the tearjerker video when he flipped the guy off in the crowd,and you're right it's songs better live.but answer me this...can he pull any songs that demands that type of vocal range off right now?because like I said he can barely finish off freak on a leash without his voice thinning out.

      Chino sings well on this one. Love this song as well

  • @viewingaccount9459

    It's like Chino gets so lost in his improvising he loses count with the rest of the band. The scream at 3:15 sounds totally lost and makes the rest of the song sound bad. The band itself is on point.... A lot of the time he gets away with it, but not here. As a result when the lyrics resume at 3:20 the band is already playing properly but drunk Chino is playing catch up and you can hear him squeeze the words in resulting in the usual garble.
    God they could be so much better live if they wanted to be...well not "they' but "he" meaning Chino. But hey what are you gonna do they guy has like 3 other bands to worry about.

    While Gore is without a doubt their worst album, this song is vastly underrated.

      why tf is it their worst album, thats just your opinion.

      I agree it is their worst album. But recently, I've realized that I only really dislike 4 of the songs on it. The rest are okay to pretty good like this song or Phantom Bride.

    Uhm....So Sergio is playing a regular guitar? Anyone know what's going on here with the bass and guitars?

    • @kidpresentable
      @kidpresentable 8 лет назад

      It's a 6 string bass

    • @viewingaccount9459
      @viewingaccount9459 8 лет назад

      kidpresentable Wow the string gauges and everything looks very regular-guitar sized i've never seen that, plus look how he strums it.

    • @kidpresentable
      @kidpresentable 8 лет назад

      Yeah it's a Fender Bass VI. It's a very guitar like bass.

      kidpresentable That is fantastic. What other songs is it played in do you know? (non Deftones im sure, thats fine too)

    • @kidpresentable

      I think Sergio started playing it on Koi No Yokan. Maybe Diamond eyes. I think The Cure used one from time to time too.

    Chino used to have this stage presence. I hate how he runs around with his back to the crowd a lot. He looks like he's lost on the stage always. Its like fucking Maynard....One main reason, well there's tons, why I don't like Tool that much anymore is because of MJK's mailed in performances. Dude's been singing back in the dark next to the drum tech since fucking 2002.

    • @dougf9900
      @dougf9900 8 лет назад +1

      Same with Marilyn Manson. Just saw him a few weeks ago and he wandered the stage lost, except when he was kneeling down in front of one of the monitors - which was 1/2 the show.

      Doug F I've seen him on youtube in concert the past couple years. He does that every show. What a shame.

      God, youtube replies are getting really fucked up. Doug F your reply should be below my OP. Instead our replies are swapped. RUclips has been doing this for some time now. People if you're reading this and it bothers you, report it like I am.

      how does he look lost in this performance?
      he's facing the audience the entire time,he still interacts with them.hes always moved around and ran across the stage,so I'm not sure what you're talking about

    • @viewingaccount9459

      ThaTruth223 Hello. I watched this again earlier so Im glad to be refreshed. Just a mere two times from memory As noted elsewhere, he blows the song at 3:15 and starts running around at 3:20. I wish he would just get his shit down bro tired of the improving. And get this im going to see him in Fresno in 2 weeks. Love them but this shit has to stop. They drink so much.

  • @viewingaccount9459
    @viewingaccount9459 8 лет назад

    The more this band drinks, the sloppier they get. Chino just loves to butcher him some lyrics! Love them 20 years now and it;s getting worse and worse.
