Yours is truelly a series. I have realized that every time I raise a question after watching one episode, the answer to my question is in fact in the preceding episode. Looks like I should just play catch up by watching the series right from the start and since you guys are fairly interesting and informative, It won't take me long to catch up. Nic you reminded me of my interview experience, I had been denied NIV 3 or 4 times..so when I was approved for the Immigrant Visa I couldn't believe it.
I stared at the interviewer for like 30 seconds until she said "Have a good day Ma'am "
i didnt know that Dee.. wow.. 3/4 times,, i was also shocked i went blank. Its never an easy process
Me too, I have been denied 3 times. Tried again the 4th time and I got a pink paper which I'm hoping and praying will be approved.

@@isabellnyaga9060 they didn’t tell me, i guess its the address that i used in those 3 trials that had a problem, the 4th time i didn’t have a host so i had a hotel booking and i finally got my visa approved after being given a pink paper for more information.

I just started following your channel and I love it, I came on a K1 visa as well in July of 2015 and I enjoyed listening from a different person's experience, great couple. I am in Iowa...(we love our corn and farms around😂😂😂)

Great share. What of a visitor's VISA?
For a visitor visa you fill out form DS 160 in the us embassy website of your home country. You book an interview appointment. You have to have an invite to the USA. Fulfill the requirements, attend interview with required documents and if visa is approved you can travel
Visitor visas are very difficult to get. They are the most abused.
Just watching this video and already jotting down some helpful information. My boyfriend from Uganda and I are looking into the options for him to come and marry me here in the US. This is such a daunting process and we both feel overwhelmed. Very thankful to have stories like yours to be encouraged and informed by.
Question… do you happen to know if the K1 visa requires the beneficiary to live in the US following? Or could we go back to Africa directly following? Can’t find that information so far.
Secondly, how long did it take from applying to receiving the K1 visa?

Hello! Thanks so much for engaging with our video and I’m glad you’re finding it helpful! For your first question, I think after the beneficiary gets the proper paperwork you’re able to travel, but I think with a greencard you’re only able to be out of the USA for 6 months max at a time, but once they get the citizenship (after 4 -5 years) you’d technically be free of time obligation.
For the next question, our K1 visa process was before the pandemic, and it took 8 months from application to when he received the visa. Things may be different since the pandemic though, I don’t know.

No problem. We’re doing good hope you too!! We filed in July 2019, we were approved November 2019 and interview was in February 2020.

Hi. For K1 visa, only US citizens are able to apply for their fiancé to join them before their married.
However you may be able to apply for them once you’re married using form I-130

For the visa interview? No, only the one in Lagos needs to appear for the interview

Hi Laura, it will depend. Covid has changed timelines so it’s hard to say but generally it used to take about a year. We wish you all the best in the process and if you have questions you can ask us.

Did you have to take your education papers and employment job support letters on the DS160
Not on DS, but you’ll need that information when applying for permanent residence when you get to the USA
Very informative, but I wanted to ask a question, can you request for an interpreter?
Yes I believe you can, but you have to include it in your paperwork when filling it out
what happens if you don't want to vaccinate
I think you have to be vaccinated unless you show there’s a medical reason for you not to.. otherwise your medical is not considered complete. Also if you have received any of the required vaccination previously you don’t have to repeat it

@@Mjkamimi okay. Research a little bit more about it to see what your options are. I think the person traveling might be denied entry to the US if medical is not complete. Wish you all the best in your process 😊😊

vaccination is a must if you want to go to another country. No much choice in this
How long do you have to stay in the relationship before applying for the K1 visa
It doesn’t matter, you just have to have seen each other within 2 years of applying and be able to prove the relationship is legit.
