I came here because I wanted to take a fully rigged (and blendshaped) character, unbind the mesh and alter the face (so he looks like someone else)...and then rebind to the rig. Hopefully have the preexisting blend shapes update to the new object base mesh.
hello, i'm a student in cg 3d at the reunion island and i want to ask you a question i try to launch the script but a error message says "# Error: unindent does not match any outer indentation level # " in the script editor can you help me I want to transfert my BS on another character with the same topology not the same uv i'm under maya 2018 thank you very much
For the indention error, ensure you copy and paste the script the same as above. Also, you have to ensure the name of the geometry is the same as above or change the names in yellow appropriately. If you transfer blendshapes, especially with the same topo, it will have the exact same look as the previous blendshapes. Sounds like you just need to export all your blendshapes and add to the new character. If you want, you can email me your file and some notes on what you're looking to do and I'll check it out. trey@treylynne.com
thanks! It is very helpful for me
Thank you so much for sharing this! I tried this method to blendshape a new head onto an alembic cache and it worked wonders! :)
Thanks for this script and workflow.
It's the second time this year I had to use it and nothing else could solve the problem so quickly and easily.

Hi. this is interesting. Is this a better solution than using a UVblendshape or another alternative?
Another alternative
