One of the things I really like about this movie is that every suggestion given to Finn by the Grabber's previous victims ends up helping him escape. Even the meat from the freezer to pacify the dog. It also does a great job of depicting the 70s.

Regarding the supernatural stuff, I think Finn and his sister both have the Shining. (The Black Phone was written by Stephen King's son Joe Hill.) Their mom had it too. That's why their dad gets so upset at Gwen (the sister) when she talks to the police about her dreams. Finn was the only boy who could hear the phone ringing because he can shine. The Grabber must have had it a little too since he could hear the phone sometimes.

If you’re referring to The Haunting Of Hill House, that’s not her that’s her younger sister who plays the twin

This movie creeped me out bigtime and made me so scared the whole time. Especially being a mother. Also it's not confirmed why the Grabber is broken. Whether it was due to his own child abuse OR if he had a normal childhood & still ended up broken (Which is even scarier, when you think about it). It's not confirmed because like Ethan Hawke said himself, "because it doesn't matter why he's broken, what matters is he IS broken."
The movie shows the Grabber was a sick paedophile that murders his victims after they play his "naughty boy" game. They made a few subtle signs to show what he was, hence why he was shirtless, & why one victim mentions the grabbers "favourite" part of naughty boy etc.
Also noticed that the Grabber did, in fact pick certain types of kids. The Grabber only picks boys and notice how they all have long hair, that he can play with.😖
Finn saw and heard the dead kids because he too os gifted like his mother. Both kids see and hear things supernaturally, in different ways.

I'm sorry, but you just aren't intelligent enough to understand why the father acted the way he did. I'm only 14 but I understand why he was like that. His wife had dreams that came true which led to her killing herself and the father was afraid his daughter was going to have the same fate and he was so afraid of that that he mistakenly hoped that the belt to her bottom would stop her from having these drams and meeting the same fate as the mother. He hit her with the belt because he loved her and was afraid of losing her, not because he wanted to abuse her. In his mind due to his fear, hitting her bottom with the belt in hopes of somehow stopping those dreams was better than having her die like her mother did. Also, at one point you asked what year this was suppose to be when at the very beginning it shows it's 1978. When the boy pulled the slats from the window you asked why the man didn't hear it when it was already said that the room was soundproof. Finally, you asked, "wait, how can he be under the house?" As if you never heard of a basement before.
